SG ~ interesting about your salmon...ours out in British Columbia pretty well dried up/disappeared this year...i think that there was something like 1/10 or 1/20 or something of the usual number (some huge number) ~ everybody was having a fit, environmentalists, fishermen, natives, everyone...quite the uproar ~ i wonder if they somehow wandered 'south'...sounds like something 'fishy' anyhow all taken into account don't you think ?? (guess only the fishes know for sure :o))

kitchie, I have a spinning rod outfit, but the one I SHOULD be out using is a nice split bamboo fly rod set up that I have had for years .. (think it is worth some bucks by now)

What with the largest run of NATIVE Coho salmon in 15 years (and double the numbers from THAT year) there are thousands of salmon going up stream right now .. if you fish the RIVER before they hit their home stream, they are still feeding!
Fish and Game has no clue as to where they came from! So they radio tagged them at the falls at Oregon City to find out where they are going. The last hatchery on the Willamette closed in 1993!
Steelhead run is also way up!
JUST MAYBE all of the stream repair work over the past few years if FINALLY paying off! (lottery and casino dollars at work!)
Will have to get over to brother's and see if there are any in the stream there. That stream has had NO salmon since a fuel spill about 18 years ago right at the time the smolts were about to go to sea!
At one time in the narrows it was bank to bank salmon during migration.

Hahahahaha Pat....I have a lil Daiwa break apart lightweight rod & reel in it's own lil box in the trunk of mah car...love it...pop it out any time I wanna fish...ahahhhhhha...But, I gotta tell ya'....I used one o dem poles with kite line in Central Park Lake when I was a kid....it had a safety pin on the end...we caught lotta fish in that lake...lol...we would go out in a rowboat...feeding the ducks all the way...hahahaha...had mah favorite pal ducks that would come to me...LOL....I even named them....Nick, I bought the quantum to list...it's really too heavy for me....& big fer mah small hands....it's guy sized!

xyste, had a lady friend (post divorce and post radio) that would dance at Kalisa's. 6' 1" tall redhead .. she would put on her black wig and make a buck or two dancing .. her real job was drama instructor at RLS (Davis grad). Convenient for her as she lived about a block from the PB lodge!

xyste .. I have a 7 hour plus replay running through my skull every now and again. I LIVED on Cannery Row for a couple of months at the Ocean View!! (before I got a place on the Monterey PG line (that big white house on Lighthouse right at the city limits!)

But good to see Kalisa again. (she gave me a free meal now and then!!)(there and the Warehouse and the Palace.. great Borscht!)(And downtown at the Alvarado .. some of the best chops in the WORLD there!!)(and at the wharf at Sabu Shake's where the station had a trade out.. once a week free seafood feast!)

tride - thanks for interest but I already posted all of the errors and stuff on the Vista SP1 failed install. I even bought the disk but same problems. Google sez there are oodles out there with the same problem. I will just work on the BSOD for now. I do know the trigger but short of F&F have not found the fix.

Lucky sellers.. Ebay will refund all listing and selling fees because buyers cannot search and bid on items. Past the word to the lucky sellers who have items listed during this outage. Bad news, sellers have to take the loss and cannot cancel sales that have a bid and less than 12 hours left.

Thanks SeaDog - looks like a great service and just the sort of thing that i am looking for..but it is not available in Canada. Our two local phone providers do offer the service for free but you have to have your own phone/translator thingie. There are some available here on ebay and i have asked a few sellers a few questions so hopefully i can pick one up...prob is they don't ship to my country..but where there is a will there is a way.

Kitchie - yes, i am having difficulty with ebay search also..thought it was just me..whew good to know this gosh darn thing isn't going on the fritz again.

Car passed both safety and emission test with flying colors - yippee!!
