This is just a shot in the dark, but I have a collection of original photos of several baseball Hall Of Famers (Ruth, Gehrig, Cobb, Speaker,etc...) that were given to me by the photographer. I am not quite sure the best route to go as far as selling them. I have looked at an auction house and they are very interested but I'd kind of like to see what some collectors' interest are on these. If you had these what would you do?

trainerofhorses , I would say at least 90% of Ebay users looking at the bid page with multiple bids could tell you if you were using auto bid. No big deal, the seller get paid the top bid not the auto bid price.

To use an Ebay escrow (www.escrow.com), First the sale must have happened on Ebay. You must have legit Ebay auction or sale number. To find out if it is legit all you have to do is place it in the search at the top of most Ebay pages and choose All Categories.
Another giveaway, is that all messages coming thru Ebay from a seller should be in your MY Ebay messages, If not it proably is a scam.

I'm trying to buy a boat from a lady and see said she wanted to go through ebay she quotes "The boat is in perfect condition - like new! If you decide to buy it, you'll receive all the papers, owner manual, keys, a buy-sell contract already signed by me and the clear title. For this transaction I want to use ebay because I want to provide you a fast and very secure way. They will handle the transaction for me. You will make the payment to ebay and they will hold the money until you receive and inspect the boat. ONLY AFTER you receive the boat and you inspect it (you have 5 days for inspection) ebay will release the payment to me. The inspection time period will begin as soon as you receive the boat at your address. Meanwhile eBay will hold the money into a trust account. So, this is not a blind transaction, you can see the boat before you decide to buy it. You must mean Bobby Bowden of the Seminoles. It was my understanding he wasn't offered a follow-on contract, he wasn't fired. Urban Meyer has taken an indefinite leave of absence. PS, in case you missed it, Alabama won. I know it would have been a different game (same outcome, though) if the Texas QB hadn't been injured on the 5th play, but all's fair in love and the BCS game. As it was, that little freshman QB they put in grew up in a hurry and will be a player to watch next season.

rjcake - I have an idea your Hogan woods are more modern than you think. In his prime, Ben H. played with steel shafted clubs, and his woods had persimmon heads. His company wasn't founded until 1953, and wood shafts were not much in use by then by professional golfers. There's a lot of information about vintage Hogan golf clubs on the internet. help! I am looking for a pool cue that was lost to a thief a few years ago. It was nothing real fancy and I don't know the name of the maker but I think it was made in the U.K. and it was a two piece that broke down in the middle, what was different was instead of scewing it together you lined up two dots and pushed it down and turned it a quarter turn to lock it in place on the shaft and butt end there were three sets of groves that matched to each other and that's how it locked. any help would be great. The Colts organization can spin it any way they want, but THEY THREW THAT GAME!! (In my book, there is no difference between not trying to win and trying to lose.) Will the Colts return money to the poor fans who paid hard-earned $$ to see an undefeated 14-0 team play like one? Will the Colts give back the TV revenues they "earned"? And what about the kid(s) in the stands who was attending his first NFL game? How about NFL integrity and the potential 16-0 history that was "rested"! Oh, and by the way, how many games has Peyton Manning missed because of injury...zero! The Colts organization embarassed their players (who clearly wanted to play) and embarassed the NFL. I wasted my time watching this game, but won't bother with the Colts again.

I have a question on a snowboard i won the day before christmas. In the descrpition it said that He was selling a snowboard with bindings, boots size 11, and a helmet. It said all was included. After i won it, he e-mailed me saying if i wanted the boots it was an extra 10 and helmet was 15 but hed give me both for 20. I don't want to pay the extra money considering the summary said they were included. How should i go about this?

Snow hardly ever builds up enough to stick around a long time here in central Ohio. The snow on the ground now is supposed to be washed away by rain on the 24th. It never really stuck on the roads, so all the snow is still white.

I enjoy driving in snow. I had a front-wheel drive Honda 30 years ago, and it was a blast. Snow has never prevented me from getting where I wanted to go. Only bad drivers do that. :)

Autographs: I hate when title listing says PSA/DNA, but the description says they only GUARANTEE that PSA/DNA will authenticate and, if not, seller will refund $. But it costs--sometimes a lot--to get an autograph authenticated. I think the seller should not only return money for a card determined to be counterfeit by PSA/DNA, but should also guarantee a return of the costs associated with getting the autograph analyzed by PSA/DNA. THAT is a true guarantee that allows buyer to feel truly confident.

avikay111 , I guess you haven't been to MN in the winter. Dart leagues all over. Not much betting, just trophies and traveling money for winners on the big tournaments. As far as mostly men, I think you might want to tell all their wives and girlfriends that. Male-Female about 50/50.
Oh, by the way, that's not using steel tip. Plastic tip only. I don't know of a bar within 50 miles, probably 100 miles that has a steel tip board.

Good morning,
I have never visited this board before. When I am hanging out on the boards I call the Book Board home. But have a question.

I have 3 pair of Nordica down hill ski boots. So far I have been able to find a size on only one pair. With that pair the size was on the back of the outer heel. Any suggestions? They are so stiff that I am having trouble
getting then so that I can see the inside of the tongue.

I also have a pair of RRaichle that have these numbers on the inside of the tongue 060393 L 8-9 . I think the L perhaps refers to Lady as they appear to be about the right size for me. I wear an 8-9 shoe.

Hi,
Does anyone out there know what the 1920s Texas Longhorn football pennants looked like?

I found a postcard (stamp box dates it circa 1904-1920s) of a young man seated at a table with a Yale pennant on the wall and a partially obscured pennant behind him that I believe is for the Texas Longhorns.

opps -- I forgot to mention the little mini helmets - they came out in the early 80's in vending machines. I really don't know how you can tell the real ones from a fake. I have a feeling you are talking about the hard plastic ones and not the flexible plastic ones that I am taking about.

message to Tom re: mini helmets ---back around the mid to late 70's a company called LAICH came out with football helmets about 4 inches wide and 3-4 inches in height. Another company called Fuzz put out a large helmet holder made of cardboard to hold all the helmets together. I first saw them at a Roy Rogers fast food place. Each time you ordered something, they gave you a helmet. The guy sold me the whole holder plus all the helmets for $20-25 back then. I still have it. flash

hello all -- are there any starter jacket (satin only) collectors on here? I am an ex - employee of Starter. It seems to me that the satin type jackets have risen in retail value. The holy graille of these are the Celtics in green with the back patch. The Chargers in blue with the bolts are also up there. If anyone wants to chat about these starter jackets - feel free. Why are baseball, basketball and football cards not so hot these days? I have thousands of them, some are older in the 1970's and 80's, and famous atheletes, but I look up their worth in the card collector books and they don't seem to be worth anything. I have no idea why my son collected all of these cards! Any answers? I hope someone can tell me that I am wrong about what they are worth, if not, thousands of cards are going in the dumpster.

Not sure if this is ebay issue or my issue. I ship calculated postage stuff worldwide esp into Canada. Ebay allows me the option to use parcel post, but when I take it to the post office they tell me I have to use priority. Needless to say that cuts deeply into any profits. This figures. I am doing this for a family member. I sold the tickets to a first time buyer. No response by phone either. They have a full mailbox. I was hoping to find out what to do.
