Oh Indiana is an up-and-down state when it comes to the whether. Makes for good gardening, though. We spend 9 months anticipating the 3 hot months a year we get. LOL
It's great for yard sales, though. You can still find "dime sales" around here. I've lived in several states and ended up staying here for the last 20 years. It's not so bad.

You sound like my kind of shopper! Most estate sales are too pricey. There is another one, this week, that I know the prices will be sky high, I won't even bother. I even once, lucked on to a little doll in a Brownie uniform, at Goodwill. But, mostly GW picks out all the good stuff. Yard sales are definitely good, except I don't have the patience to drive around and find nothing, but mountains of baby clothes and newer stuff. My daughter possibly getting a promotion and moving to Indiana(?). She has my two youngest granbabes, age 4 and 1. Happy for her, but hate to see them go. Maybe, I can tell her, it's just too cold, right? Nanda

Nanda, I never find dolls at estate sales around here. I barely find dolls at all except at yard sales. I moved to this small "established" town last fall and I found several dolls at the yard sales. Most are vintage and in very played with condition but then they're usually less than a dollar so worth it. There is a small shop in town where I have purchased a couple vintage vinyl Ginny's for around $5. She has a couple Hummel dolls but wants more than I can afford. I bought a life sized Crissy baby with grow hair (she had chopped bangs, though) for a couple dollars. I sure wish there were doll shows around here.

Good morning, Dolly Friends! Looks like I am going to be the proud mommy of another Schoenhut. I saw her and made arrangements to acquire her from a dear friend whom I have purchased some wonderful dollies from before. Now I have to figure out how to get to the city in the middle of a winter blizzard to pick up dolls to sell to pay for her. Oh the tangled web we weave for our dollies.
I know I look at each of my dolls every day and I think to myself, "If only we could take them with us".
Well, Indiana is expecting 5 to 9 inches today with gusting winds and drifts. Yay. My poor dad in law works for the state and drives the big city trucks that has to clear the roads. He'll stay busy.
Patty, if you're not going to use your furs and jewels then send them my way, would you?

Good Morning, you sweet "keepers of the dolls". Is it cold where you are? Here in East Texas, we have had an unusually wet winter and this week is going to stay cold, with may-be snow on Thurs. Never sticks around, though. I have to mail a Magic Skin baby to Canada today, so I was hoping to get out and do some dolly shopping. Do you have a lot of estate sales in your area, or is that a good place for you to find dolls? Later, this week, there is one here, conducted by a lady who has several a year, sometimes two a month. She has very organized sales, usually pretty big, and she is fair. You know, the kitchen spatula is still just 50 cents, even though there may be antiques all over the house. This one, she advertised, MANY dolls...sounds interesting. I have bought dolls at her sales before, for a good price. Only thing, IF it's snowing and bad, I don't think I am tough enough to get up and be across town by 7 a.m. We'll see. Nanda

Good Morning from VERMONT!
Can you imagine being strapped in a box for 100 years? I am surprised she was purchased for such a small amount. Isn't that small for such a gorgeous mint doll? I will send the chauffeur to pick it up just as soon as I instruct the rest of the servants of their chores for the day! I believe the Queen is coming for tea, or else I would throw on my furs and jewels and pick it up myself.

I would've added teachers, but seems more and more that they are just not as excited about teaching as they use to be. I can see they've been put under alot of pressure by all of the politics..

We try to wholeheartedly support our teachers. Zack and his were having a bit of trouble this year, just rubbed each other the wrong way. But, she's decided to start making a genuine effort to get along and I sent Valentine's Day Pencils for her to hand out to the class as a 'peace offering' :)

She and my DD were going at it so bad, I called the school and got the counselor involved. Thank goodness for him! He's a good guy.

Ok I have a funny story. DH's w-2 hadn't arrived by the 1st. We have had problems with the mail getting here. (They claim our address doesn't exist. We've lived here 13 years! lol) Anyway his w-2 was sent back to work. He let the lady in payroll know by email to send it to our PO Box because he has had problems with our house mail. He gets an email back from her saying, "Oh okay, I will mail it to your house address." LOL Now once again it will get sent back because she made the error. Gee I wonder why people assume the worst of state or government employees?? Meg

Thank you Meg. I hate car problems....such a awful thing when you have to spend money that you would rather "enjoy" on car problems. I just had mine serviced last week after cleaning the inside and scrubbing mats after Mark's move. Glenda

Glenda, I feel great! I still have "issues" but I feel soooo much better. I've been getting extra hours and doing a lot of extra housework and staying busy because I feel so much better. I even got on the scale this morning and I've lost a whopping 9 lbs!!! Just 9 more to go to reach my goal which is 120 lbs. I know, I know...barf on me. But I'm only 5'3" and small boned and I weighed only 100 lbs after 3 kids so the almost 140 lbs I was heading towards a month ago was scaring me a bit.
Anyways, thank you for asking, Glenda. Very kind of you! I am going to take a break from here since I went and looked at dollies and got myself all depressed. I'll check back a little later.

Before we sold our home, I use to go to Wal-Mart in the early morning hrs when I couldn't sleep. Both sons told me that people would think I was a druggie being there at that hour. Hi, all. Nanda, your Storybook Doll is a real cutie. As I downsize more and more, I'm thinking I need to major in small dollies. Or just not so many of anything.

PEEKABOO! Anyone miss me?
Wow I really love all the pictures of the black dollies. I try to keep my eyes open for black dolls but I dont find them too often around here. I did have a beautiful black Armand Marseille Dream Baby but had to sell it (my very biggest seller's remorse regret ever). There are two vintage HP black dolls at the antique store that I'm hoping will go on sale and so I'm just waiting.
I went to Wally World today to try to use up a few dollars I had left on a gift card and went through all the dolly stuff hoping to find something nice and do you know they don't have squat!? You can't even buy doll clothes there any more. Well, they did have one dolly that was pretty realistic and moved and "breathed" and opened/closed its eyes mechanically. I should have gotten it but I got a new shower curtain liner instead along with a kitchen curtain.
BTW, the Kruse doll is really nice but I think I like the doll on the far left more! Beautiful.
Anyways, I missed everyone although I doubt you noticed I was gone. LOL I have been running like a mad woman the last several days doing everything I could to make a buck. We're supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow and the next day so trying to get everything ready to hanker down for a few days. I hope everyone is doing well.
Oh, my grandmother is home doing well and has put on over 20 lbs since the surgery! Praise God.

They used to make short 'twists' of mohair that could simply be stitched across the center of the piece and then spread out to make a wig for a doll that size. I'll bet some long time collectors have some of that around.

Otherwise, just make yourself a rectangle of mohair, lay it across a piece of tissue paper (for sewing support) and stitch a 'center part' across the middle, lay it over her head and position it so it looks the way you want it. Trim to fit.

Hello, wanted to ask a question about my little Storybook doll. I guess I know the basics. When I found her in a really dirty mess, in an junk shop, I didn't know anything, but just liked her. The way she just fit in my hand and was kind of weighty. I researched her here, and knew that, with so many beautiful Storybooks in perfect condition, that she was not really sell-able. No matter, I was attached to her. Her finish is in perfect shape, of course, no hair. I believe the print dress was probably her original, but the pale yellow was with her. Holes in both little dresses. Marked on the back, Storybook Dolls, USA Pat.????? If anyone, can give me advice on replacing her hair, etc. I would sure appreciate it. Nanda

Hi Linda2. I do remember seeing your ballerina. There is a doll on auction right now, that says it has green hair. Your description, makes me wonder if that doll had aqua hair at one time, but it has faded. Actually, all my childhood was not pleasant memories. There were some rocky times. Shortly, after that Christmas, my mother began to drink. That was pretty much, the end of my mother, as I had loved her. She was, very unfortunately, not one who should have ever picked up the liquor. She passed away about 10 years ago, and we did make our peace before she died. I think that when I began to remember the pretty doll, I also remembered that there was a time, when my mother did love her little daughter and probably was very proud and excited to have bought her the lovely doll, for Christmas. Funny thing, I hadn't realized, to this day, my favorite color is torquoise.

Hi Nada, welcome to doll chat..you and I are about the same age, I got my aqua haired ballerina when I was about 8 or 9, so would have been in the mid 50s. I've posted a picture of her here several times, but don't know if you ever saw it, her aqua hair has faded and now has only a green cast to it, so, you may not find one with her aqua hair still it's original colour, guess it will depend on whether or not they all turned, or just some, due to the care, or lack there of.. also, she had, at one time, a beautiful ponytail..but no more..
I've always been a "doll person", guess I just refused to leave my childhood behind as I grew older. Linda2

Deb, I did see the blue haired ballerina. I was encouraged to see her. I am certain that my doll, had stiff legs, short aqua hair and was dressed completely in aqua. Or, maybe, that is just my dreamy memory of her. I might be repeating, but I had climbed up in the closet, on a wobbly chair, and found all the Christmas presents. I was about 8, in 1955. I thought she was the prettiest doll I had ever seen. It should have been the end of my "Santa Belief", but I am still not quite ready to give that up. Nanda

Love it, Anne. My hubby is an ex-Marine, also. The only thing he can appreciate about any "OLD" thing is that it can have $$$ value. I am afraid that I am, what we call "a fer piece" from Chicago. I am an East Texas gal, and spend about 5-6 months in Colorado, these days. We have one of the biggest flea markets in the nation, only about 50 mi. from us, Canton First Monday Trade's Day. You can see some pretty awesome dollies there. Of course, there is also, lots of stuff in Dallas. There used to be a doll show, here in my hometown...I think I will start investigating that. I can see how an ocean of precious old dolls would make a girl addled. Nanda

Hey, Nanda R, and welcome back to Doll Chat. You are NOT barging in. We love visitors, and everyone is welcome to come and visit or come and stay!

I think we are, in some ways, buying back some piece of childhood. That sense of wonder on Christmas morning, or at a store looking at dolls. The old friends that we played with endlessly, making up plots of what our dolls were doing, and cementing the skills that would serve us well when we became mothers.

I think what we have in common is that we've found the spark of the child who's still inside us. or maybe we're just slightly nutty lol. Anyway, I'm sure glad I found all these lovely people.

Hello. I am reluctant to barge in, but I am fascinated by you "doll folk", your beautiful dolls and your knowledge. I was in, a week or so back, and mentioned that I got a ballerina doll as a girl with aqua hair. I have been watching on e-bay and hoping to find one like her. I am encouraged to see the dolls with blue hair, makes me think perhaps I will someday find her. You seem to have so much fun with your dollies. I am not a collector, but over the years, as I have sold on e-bay and messed around with collectibles of a wide and eclectic type, I have found that I am so drawn to vintage dolls. Is it a natural mothering nature or just the little girl in us? I haunt estate sales, junk stores, etc. I have been lucky to run across a few "good" dollies, over the years...A brunette Tiny Tears, with case and clothes, a Betsy Wetsy, a Betsy McCall and recently, a 1962 Barbie in the box. I love finding the occasional treasure and researching them. Since, I am interested, I have picked up a very small amount of knowledge. I usually, am pretty good at spotting a nice vintage doll. Anyway, thanks for listening. I am continuing my quest for the doll with the aqua hair and may you all find nothing but wonderful dollies for your "family". Nanda R.

I didn't make the wardrobe, I bought it from the lady that did. I got it for $35, think I will give it to Cissy, since she keeps telling me she needs a more extensive wardrobe,LOL! I actually already had the two Gotz dolls in my collection but couldn't resist adding two more for that price. They wear the same size clothes as Anne Estelle. DebB

Good Morning from VERMONT. Overcast to partly cloudy.

I had great intentions this morning and did start out well, but have wasted the last hour browsing wooden chests (what for?) and kaleidoscopes. I have always loved those toys and have about ten. Been a long time since they were altogether in a box. I have my better ones out on the piano. I like the older types best because the chips (whether plastic or glass) are cut in such a way as to give the viewer daintier patterns. I have some you look through and just see whatever is in front of it and it distorts the colors. A bit boring after a short time. I also have a couple of small ones that have beehive sections in view.

I bought a couple of wigs - Isabel used Violet's for the Kelly doll she was playing with and I will let her keep it. I have another one for Violet, but she has to wear a cap/hat/bonnet to keep it on because there is no elastic to hold it on. It doesn't look too bad as long as she stays sitting in one position, but won't do if I want to play with her.

Hubby will be home in an hour or so and I haven't begun to sew yet. Not dressed. Dishes still on the counter from last night.

I did get my son's laundry washed and dried and re-wrote my newspaper column and sent it in on time. Guess I should only give myself one kick instead of two!LOL

Good morning, everyone. Nice sunny cool day here. I was going to be lazy all day, but my mom has a dermatology appointment at 2:15. Ah well.

I want to go to the $10 table! DebB, tell me you didn't get the wardrobe for $10! Did you make it? It is just scrumptious, that's the only word for it.

Thinking of all my DC friends who need prayers as I go about my day. Hugs to all,
Anne

DebB, you did well on the $10.00 table!! I have a little Gotz like your little one in green..she has such a wonderful expression. I love the wardrobe! Not your everyday run of the mill kind of thing is it.
Since the hoarder show has come out, my kids have decided I'm more of a pack rat than a hoarder..before, my daughter in law was convinced that I was a hoarder big time!! The difference being, I save things, but if I don't use them in a certain period of time, I can throw them away, you can walk through my house, at least most of the time, and the health department hasn't condemned it..at least not yet..grin..Linda2

RE: Hoarder show. Gives me a head ache looking at all of that garbage around. UGH! I really can't watch it for me than 15 minutes, really. It is an addiction that's for sure. Poor woman, they can't seem to get control of themselves. Like over eaters, or any other addiction. Very sad. LIndab

Hi, all. Hubby's home but eating a late dinner, and then I think he'll be asleep soon. He had a great time but is VERY tired.

DebB, that hoarder show truly is scary. I'm somewhat of a pack rat, but these people can't even walk through their houses. And when someone tries to get rid of something...an old margarine tub, a stack of newspapers...they hyperventilate! Sad.

Tamara, that is a Madame Alexander Binnie/Winnie Walker 24", she is one of my rescue babies. Linda, Gabby looks wonderful, mine is still standing around in her undies, wishing she had one of those capes,LOL, its nippy here in Florida again. Spring just wants to tease us every few days.
Patty, you need to set your favorite search for the Dolls of Many Lands, they show up pretty regular but at very different price ranges. I've been trying to get a full set for a friend of mine, she bought two grandaughters the complete sets with the display stand for them but years later discovered they were designed by Kish, since they are a sold out edition, the secondary market is all thats available. Popping back in for just a minute, have clothes to get in the washer..I've really been lax this weekend and have spent almost the whole weekend playing with Gabby. That being said, here she is, only needs stockings, and right now, I don't have anything to make them from, so..I'm not real happy with her shoes as I didn't cut them low enough around the top, but..they were a pain so they will do as they are until I forget how much trouble it is to make small shoes..grin..

I made the cape using a pattern from the site DebB posted, was the only crochet pattern that had been translated, and my first attempt turned out small, so I've adjusted this one and it is keeping her nice and warm..

Just stopping in for a minute. I am almost finished with my book. I took a break and baked pizza and a batch of cookies for my son and hubby. While I waited, I put two sets of snaps on the back of the dress I made for my teeny Patsy who is helping me dust off some of my sewing skills and will be modeling for Clarice's nightgown. That is next. I thought the one I started would be a nightgown, but it has turned into a dress. I will use same pattern (homemade - with a number of adjustments as I went along) Getting back to sewing has given me a new lease on life. I have only bid on one doll since I began.

Does anyone know where I can get the rest of the American Girl Dolls of Many Lands? I have been watching eBay. I am bidding on one but it doesn't come with her book, which is disappointing. I don't think they make that series anymore, do they? They are beautifully done. Especially Isabel.

Back again. Cindy so glad to see you on DC. I think of you often and keep hoping that things are getting better. I haven't had much time to really enjoy Gabriel because of Mark's move and all that needed to be done. Keep in touch please.

E Vallejo has 4 doll shows a year ( I think) with the biggest being in November. Francie and I are very lucky because we also have Roseville at least 3 times a year and then San Jose a few times also. All of those are within a 1-2 hr. driving time. There are others in N. Ca but I don't drive to them.

Ahma the Heubach came with that hanky dress. I will need to restring her when I get time.

Since this is Black American month, I have wanted to post some dolls regarding this month. Very nice display at DebB's doll show. I loved that big red headed doll too and glad she found a new home.

Linda2 how wonderful for all those reaching out to your daughter. I hope it help her to know what a valuable person she really is.

Just dropping in for a second while waiting for glue to dry..Corinne stopped by on her way home from church this morning, she was pretty frustrated, but made me laugh and feel so good. She went to the grocery store after church to buy somethings for the superbowl get together at some friends house, wrote a check to pay for her purchase, plus a bit over for cash..they wouldn't take her check, bagged her groceries, gave her the extra cash that she'd written the check for and told her that they were told not to take her checks..then she went by the church office to pay on the kids camp..they wouldn't take her check either, said it was already taken care of..so she's frustrated because nobody in town will cash her checks..(but she still winds up with what she needed anyway), poor thing, she is trying to show people that she can "take care of business" and nobody here will let her, so, she has to go over the state line about 20 miles to cash a check, anything closer and they will do the same thing..living in a small town/community is giving me a major case of the warm fuzzys..people here are amazing me more everyday. So many people have told me that they are so glad she is back home where they can help her when/if she needs it. I think of all the people who have gone through similar things with no help, and thank God that Corinne not only has family, but a whole town wrapping her in the protective arms of God's love..Linda2

ANN - Can you believe this? Hubby found an old brass knob out in his garage. It is slightly larger than the other one on the bed, but no one would notice the difference if you didn't point it out to them. Isabel also asked him to take the curled decoration off the end, so we are very happy with it. You don't have to send it, if you don't want to bother with it. Whatever you wish to do will be fine with us.

Hi, aad. I just love Daytona, not so much the race. My father went to the race when I was in elementary school (very early 50s) and said he nearly froze to death. All the men wore suits, ties and fedoras in those days. Daddy should've worn thermal undies! Sea breeze was VERY cutting, he said.

Patty -- I would say you won't believe this, but if you know me well enough, you will believe it. Late yesterday I got to the bottom of the piles on the doll room floor, saw clear space where none had been since right after Christmas, and there staring up at me was...the missing bedknob! I knew it was in there somewhere. I'll stick it in the mail in case you can still use it. Par for the course, for me...

GLENDA - Love the Just Me Vogue doll. When you get tired of her whining because she really wants to live in VERMONT, send her to me. hehehe

ILA - Thanks for the link in case I didn't e-mail you thanks. When Isabel is here, I get distracted very easily. Now I am too lazy to check to see if I sent you a reply. We had good time looking at your website.

I finally opened up the AG Isabel of Many Lands and Isabel decided to call her Margaret because she found it weird to call her by the same name! Nine year olds...gotta love 'em. I am bidding on another doll in that series because we both love the pearls in her hair! They really are lovely. I bought Isabel last summer and put her away because I was buying so many dolls at that time, I didn't want to overwhelm my grandkids. LOL I bought an outfit for a small Helen Kish doll and thought it might fit Isabel (the doll) and it seemed time anyway to get her out of her box. I haven't had time to try to outfit on, though! Isabel (the granddaughter) snatched her up right away and I didn't have the heart to ask to have a turn, too. LOL Now that she has finally left, I found Isabel on the shelf visiting with MA Meg, from Little Women. Despite their animated conversation, I took Isabel and put her in the doll closet to get acquainted with AG Samantha.

BBL - going to finish my book today. Love, Patty

Good morning Francie. What an exciting Feb. 6th. After leaving you, went to Mark's and then home. Shortly after, we got a call regarding MIL and had them call an ambulance and take her to ER. Got home and in bed at 11 and then got the call from the ER DR. at 3:30 after tests were finished. DH went back to the hospital to get her and take her home. Possibly a tumor in the liver so we shall just take it day by day. She has a dr. appt. on Monday.

My purchases at Vallejo:
8192 Heubach (one of my favorites and this makes my 5th in various sizes) and a Just Me Vogue reproduction, a book with doll marks and a teenie little cradle and pram for the online doll. Glenda

Glenda and I went to Vallejo yesterday. It was raining, but not hard, as we drove there, and drizzling when we got there. Stopped raining by the time we left. Not too many shoppers, and probably fewer tables since the aisles seemed wide, but that couldn't been because the traffic was lighter than usual. I bought a dress for the online doll club helper, and a tiny German baby. Also something for resale that I can't show here. Francie

LOLOL @ Anne ...in my mind I can see Anna zipping around the room as she deflates. Anne, thanks for such a funny piece! I am sure that Anna will enjoy it too.

I haven't been here much lately, as it seems I am always either busy or have company. And today was such a lovely day, that I planted more vegetable seeds in flats on the porch. The ground is much too wet to spade in the garden.

Thank you all for the wonderful dolly pictures. My little 'Just Me' has arrived, but I can't take pictures yet, until I find my darn recharger for the camera battery. I lost it right after Christmas, and can't remember where i put it. She is lovely, and the artist did a great job!

Marty, sounds like your clot must be dissolved already. Good news!

I made spaghetti today too. Simmered sauce all morning....I think it was the best sauce that I have ever made. We will definitely have leftovers tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!

Sharon/gemdiva - Thanks for the pictures of the doll show. It sure brought out the dolly lust in me. hehehe... I love the big pink chair with doll clothes hanging from it. We always used small link chain - but that has a lovely cheerful "feel" to it.

Linda2 - The silk dress is wonderful! I have never been brave enough to attempt to sew silk. Methinks that will have to wait for another life. LOL! My Bleuettes don't like to stand still, either. They are always wiggling around. Very frustration as you know.

Anne, no speed this time, I've been working on that darn dress for 3 days! First, it reminded me why I don't work with silk more often, then the sleeves didn't want to work the way I had them envisioned, so wound up with lace cap sleeves, now the slip she has won't work with it..oh well, I didn't have anything else planned for tomorrow..grin..
The BWs have spoiled me..Gabby's legs don't want to stay where I put them, which frustrated me, I mean they turn every which way, and when you finally get them where they belong, they bend at the knees and she looks most ungraceful..BWs are so much easier to sew for, you stand them up, and they stay exactly where, and how you posed them..oh well, Gabby is still a pretty gal, even with her uncooperative legs..grin..Linda2

It's 8 here and we're going to early church tomorrow. With DH away, I'm not sure I can shepherd my mother all around the church without help.

I need to start winding down. Everyone have SDD and STAY WARM! And dry, as needed.

Linda2, your sewing skill and speed just amaze me. As with many others on here, that level of artistry is way beyond me. Gabby is such a pretty girl! Her feet will wait for shoes...

Sharon, thanks for the pictures of the doll show, reminded me that we normally have one here toward the end of February, will have to check for a date, no money, but still can go and dream.

Gabby's dress is about finished, but..when I tried it on her with her slip, realized that the slip I had made is not long waisted enough for this dress..groan..so another slip is in order, plus of course shoes..poor baby, she's getting tired of having cold feet! Her dress isn't as long as it appears, just no slip under it to hold all the gathers out...guess we know what I'll be doing tomorrow huh..

Good afternoon all...

DID ANYBODY GO TO VALLEJO????

If so...were there many tables? Nancy Jo had posted that it was in trouble, not getting tables filled or not enough people came in November...not sure which...didn't quite understand the post. Larry had things to do so I stayed home. Just as well...no money to spend right now anyway. We are getting ready to gut the front bathroom and that is going to take all dollie money for a while I'm afraid.

Carol...I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to your question...someone will be along that can help you...check back...

Sharon...thank you for the pictures...at least a couple of pictures of dollies is better than NO dollies at all...right????

I guess I should get back to my salad making...the celery and boiled eggs await in the kitchen and they won't chop themselves...

Have a good evening...(((HUGS)))...Ahma

I posted this earlier but don't know what happened to it: I'm loving the doll show pictures. As usual, I saw favorites that I don't know who they are. Don't want names...leads to more searching.

Hi,

Does anyone know if it's a bad idea to ship a doll to an unverified PO Box??? I just sold some dolls and one of the winning bidders has just that.

Thanks,

Anne, just bring the pie, I've already got the salad put together and have mixed the dressing...And..there is an open area behind the house just waiting for you to set your imaginary helicopter down, but will entail your having to climb the fence, or walk around to the cattle gap..sorry, no time to make it easier for you..grin..guess we can imagine an imaginary gate as well as the helicopter huh...
Goody, I envy you having weather good enough to be outside, but not the cleaning up flower beds..the weather here is just plain yucky, and so are my flower beds!! Well, guess I'll go back to work on Gabby's dress, I'm going to get it finished one of these days, I hope..Linda2

I've just sent the last hour cleaning up around the flower beds. What a job! Spent half that time cutting back the hydrangeas! They have buds already so I had lots of choices of how long/short I wanted the bush to be.

I just left the debris in the yard. First, so hubby could see what I did while he was taking a nap! and Second because he should put it in the recycle container. It still worries me to bend over for fear I might set the vertigo off, but nobody seems to know at what point it is set off. They think they know what's happening inside the ear but not exactly what we can do/not do to prevent it from happening again. I've had 3 episodes in the past 1 1/2yr. Trust me, I have my Dr. & physical therapist's phone numbers at the ready, always.

I even have a list of PT's in the Oceanside area who do the Epley Maneuver to solve the Benign Positional Vertigo that I've had each time. Getting old isn't for sissies!

If you decide on a LATE supper, I'll just hop in my imaginary helicopter and zip over to eat with you. I'll bring salad with Italian dressing and what's left of my lemon meringue pie (two large pieces should do it!)

Your sauce sounds YUMMY! Sometimes you just want to cook.

Afternoon all..seems every time I come, everybody has just left..sniff, sniff..I'm still laughing over the mental picture I have of Anna flying around the kitchen as she burst..teehee..Anne, if that didn't get a smile and lessen her stress, don't know what would.
Marty, So glad you had good news!! Love your Mary in her english riding habit, and it would appear that you may have a barn sour horse on your hands, perhaps you should lock him out of the barn for a bit and try to fatten him up on some fresh cotton batting.. (I was going to say grass..but..it's under the snow, and not fresh and green, besides, he'd probably rather the batting anyway).
Cold dreary day here, and I got up this morning with a strange craving for a decent plate of spaghetti and meat balls..now my girls are convinced the world is about to come to an end because momma is cooking!! The sauce has been simmering since early this morning, the meat balls are done, grandson has already come over and taken away half of both for their supper,(he made sure the bay leafs stayed in my portion though) so now all I have to do is the pasta, and bread, then figure out if I want a late lunch, or an early supper..grin..Think I'll work on Gabby's dress a bit before I decide, which means it will probably be an early supper, since it's 2:00pm here..I'll be back later, probably just after everyone has left again..grin..Linda2

This is from eBay's guide to ventriloquist dolls.
Raggedy Ann - Raggedy Ann was offered as a vent(riloquist) figure by the Bobbs Merrill Co. These figures seem to be just like the Raggedy Ann dolls but with the addition of a ventriloquist style head, with the head in the classic Raggedy Ann style of course. This are extremely popular dolls.

For value, you would search completed auctions for Raggedy Ann/Andy ventriloquist dolls to see what they're selling for. That's what the experts on here say about valuing any kind of doll. You might also try dollreference.com. They have tons of info.
Welcome to Doll Chat, BTW!

Ursula, I know we all pray for health for Katie, and now for Betsy too of course. And Marty has to get that clot healed, so she doesn't fret herself too much over not being able to help Betsy.

I guess I'd better get back to work. I don't want DH to come home and find that I didn't touch the doll room...although he doesn't mind...I just want to work and get it DONE so it doesn't hang over my head. It is sapping a lot of my joy in my dolls. Mustn't let that happen.

I'll BBL. Take care, Uschi! Keep knittin'.
