cmkmmoore10 .. Not to worry:) . Welcome to the board & eBay . you were NOT advertising . you were asking 'how should I proceed .. ' .. Do read the rules . Start prices low . put a reserve on IF you won't sell for less than . At first a good thing is to get feedback .. go to yard sales/charity places . pick up some trinkets or low priced things . sell here at low prices .. buy some low priced thing . do NOT ask for Feedback . but would be good to have it so it shows you are a good buyer/seller .. Be careful about VeRo stuff .. Verified Rights Owners .. http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/vero-aboutme.html .. Ask questions here or other boards . Q/A is good . the chat a lot . but WILL answer questions .. Much Luck! .. and again, NOT to worry ..

just saw an interesting experiment on the local news. Vancouver WA has started up a "walking school bus" program (by restricting parking at the school). No bus service to children living within one mile from the school, so it recruited parents for the program. Kids have to get up a bit early and they do a cumulative walk with parents (armed with umbrellas if needed) to school.

Side benefits .. exercise for all .. and since obesity is a problem that we all know about, may be a way to get some of the kids AND their MOMS/DADS into better shape. Will be very interesting to see the bottom line health wise in a few months!
And less cars on the road during commute times!

hobbit, think archival may be a bit much .. your work is appreciated, but, I am not sure just how many avail that work. (maybe a hidden counter to check for activity on that link? .. just a thought).

Kitchie - It is too late if you have already scratched - the irritants have been released into the surrounding tissue. What you have to do is bear through and don't scratch for the first 4-5 minutes - might be difficult but it won't itch after that. Good Luck at the doctors - i'll say a prayer for you and keep you in my thoughts. maeve

JBL .. (James B. Lansing) .. one of the finest makers of professional audio equipment (especially speakers) is no more!
Harmon Kardon, the company that bought them out several years ago, has now closed them down (or mostly down) in a financial re-organization.
At one time, in the speaker industry, the only competitor to JBL (new) was JBL (rebuilt)!

xyste Our son in law has a similar card. He charges all his painting supplies, and personal stuff to the card as our DD does even 'scipts and they get a lot of free trips !!Of course they pay the bill in full each month otherwise the "free trips" are very expensive !!

My airline tickets to Africa and Turkey and my last 4 trips to London and Paris were all free. I opened a United Mileage Plus account and a Mileage Plus Visa card and charged everything to it - groceries, gas, medical, taxes - everything - and paid it off every month and for every $ charged got United miles that accumulated toward a ticket. My choice - ecconomy, business, or first class. I was frequently bumped to first. If you decide not to fly there are many things you can 'buy' with your miles. That's where I got the 5 VCR/DVD burners that I sold here when I decided my globe trotting was over and closed the account. I now use a cash back card. You can pick the best if you search Google for "cash back card compare"

How much? The new IronClad USB drive shrinks a laptop's hard drive including the entire operating system, software applications, and files onto a secure flash drive. Custom Lockheed Martin technology lets users run their entire desktop from the operating system to specific applications and files directly off of the USB drive. Built-in advanced virus protection lets users plug into any shared or public computer with confidence. When flash drive is removed there is no trace on the host computer that it was ever there.

She is a doll, and sis and hubby went down to Raglan (outside of Auckland) for a week and the pics show two grandparents about ready to explode with joy! .. Was going through the pile of crud to recycle and decided to check the warranty .. out of 8 drives (some now unusable because they are too small and won't even hold an OS and the needed programs) .. ONE was still under warranty .. like you, had forgotten about it! Nice to regain a 120gb drive!

So back to C/S and minutes later I get an email from the same guy (great C/S by th eway) and he says insert this part number as it is the correct P/N for my drive. Presto I have a warranty that will expire in Oct 2010 so off to TX it goes!! Only I can get a misprinted label. Regarding H1N1, it has been mild so far. I hope it will continue. If you haven't gotten your shot, do it now!!!. Normal flu season starts now, and it is the current "normal" flu. Remember that "normal" flu kills 30K a year, and that's a bogus count. That only counts people who have "flu" reported on their death certificate. Many more have other causes recorded and don't get counted. same with h1n1. We don't have a clue.
Bottom line... You PAID for the vaccine (taxes). Go get a shot. Should be free, call your local health department. Thus endith this Public health announcement.

comment .. decent mix on the Who .. Zack was on FIRE on the drums (that is Zack Starkey .. daddy is Ringo).

Liked the stack of 8 retro Fender Super Reverb amps (actually they are "Vibro Kings" with the bottom layer modified from 3 - 10" to 2 - 12" speakers) vs the old wall of Hi-Watt stuff.

Did miss Timmie Gorman on the keyboards .. he just "did it right", but has not played with The Who since before Entwhistle died.

And it was not Memorex ... they did it LIVE! (a few warts, but such is the case when you play naked and live!)

(wonderful that musicians can play music without grabbing their crotch!!)
(but the band is livin' on Tulsa time .. surviving on their past glory.)

Posted by   ( ) on Feb-07-10 at 17:01:22 PST   Listings
Personally i think that a person can build up an ammunity to flea, mosquito and such bites over a time. When i was 15 i went with an old maiden aunt to live on a small island way up north for a month.

The mosquitos were beyond belief - especially around dusk, clouds so thick they darkened the sky and if you opened your mouth to speak you ate many.

Being a kid i wasn't about to stay indoors and certainly no type of repellant would touch such a horde. So i went out, and i got bit, and i FORCED myself not to scratch as my body would have been raw.

After 2 weeks of this a strange thing happened. I was bitten substantially less often although the number of bugs was the same BUT when i was bitten it wasn't itchy. Now i can get bitten by anything from a black fly to a flea and not even notice...i think i built up a natural histamine or something.

I was discussing this matter with an old bush Indian friend of mine one day and he said yeah, that's what happens over an extended length of time of being bit intensely BUT the secret is that you can't scratch!! That releases the toxins into the blood stream more rapidly and all you do is end up as hamburger.

It drives people nuts when they are scratching like mad and i am not. Camped up north for a week a while back during black fly season and while others were driven to distraction i didn't even have a bite to speak of...

Maybe the same sort of thing happenned to you BEd? Maybe you were too young to remember?

Eventually to the point of being a danger to herself and everyone around her.

seadog, wouldn't rule that out a bit. Chrome is coming on like gangbusters now that it is stable (and now that it is available in Linux.)

And a lot of that crud is BROWSER (not OS) attack. The re-directs and such .. unless you have BROWSER protection (such as is available in Firefox .. not sure of Chrome as have not use it yet) installed, you can get in a world of on line hurt very quickly.

Went into 'programs' to delete temps and cookies and couldn't do - wouldn't do it.

Question - is there any other way to delete cookies and tempsso that i can run the scans - or should i just go ahead and run then - I am on xp.

Tride I keep a copy of my important folders (Pictures and Music) on the networked computers. I keep no personal files on the computer. they are kept in the safe. Movies we only keep the one copy on this computer. If we like it enough we will burn a copy. But I think we are passed that. We have burned well over 1,000 movies and have maybe watched 2 that were burned to disk. Big waste of disks and effort.

If you weren't so far away, I'd come "help" you with that Ruger.

I was in the coffee shop when a bunch of law enforcement sat at the next table. I suggested that we go set up some cans in the parking lot and do a little plinking but they thought we'd have to clear the area first. I told them that after the first couple of shots there wouldn't be anyone to clear out, they would have all scrammed.

Tride, I was trying to help with the Sony but felt a bit out of my league. Just thought you had had a lot more experience with laptops. With my only experience with a laptop being on this Thinkpad, I wasn't totally certain that I was giving all the right info, nor was I sure I was getting all the info asked for back. It's hard to do remote repair.

seadog - I go to M with my partitions. But I put D on the second drive and keep Office programs and store folders on it.

I use external to backup - but I do copy paste and then zip what I mentioned before to the second hard drive. (So I have it on both drives if one fails.)

rmorrison - since when did you need help with a Sony laptop? Never saw your post. Just e me. But my real help is ThinkPads. Know them inside out - can't give definitive answers on other laptops.

    Just read the board.

magieb - you can uninstall Messenger by going to Add/Remove and choose Add/Remove Windows Components. I do what you do but I also rename the Messenger Folder MessengerOld.

BigEd - If the backup hard drive is big enough I would do a clone and then a backup partition and backup on daily basis there. But, I do always unplug the external backup. Can the office just set the time to backup at a certain time each day, and then turn off and unplug the external?

Air - was everything just dragged and dropped to external? A clone would have restored your icons.

Seadog - I try to train the people whose machines I work on to make D:/ the default location for store files - especially the My Documents folder when you're installing Office. I do a regular copy and paste for my address book and oe email folder to another drive or partition if it's a laptop. I do the same with my Quicken files. I also make a partition and call it Music and keep all their music there. If installing Itunes for instance I don't allow their default location (which winds up in My Documents) - I point it to the folder I've created on the Music partition.

And - Bay, now that I know you're a transgender I think many of the wives and "girls"on the board would be willing to send you plenty of used dresses. Just post your size for us. (Anyone offended by weird stuff don't go here - but Bay it does carry everything you'll need: http://www.transgendered.net/

yep, but when the person that gives you the part number gives you the WRONG number ... 'nother story!!

This was for the FM antenna (OEM) for brother's surround receiver/amp. The part number they gave me was for the replacement antenna strip on the back of the unit .. do not have an issue with that strip. It is on and the connections are good. Just need the correct impedance antenna, so figured OEM would be the answer.

Since the unit is out of production, there was no ON LINE parts list. Had to eMail the service department to get the parts numbers .. they goofed!!

One of the challenges for farmers in this area was a breakdown. They had other things that needed done at the same time, so they would send the wife to get the parts needed while they kept on working, but the wife didn't know the equipment and would have to try to explain it to the parts man and would often come back with the wrong part after an hour of frustration at the parts counter. Now, parts catalogs are online and the farmer in the know can get on the phone with the part number and have it shipped for less than the cost of fuel to go to the parts man. I wish more places would get with the program like this.

Ron for the install its manditory you tell it to boot from the CD and not the hard drive. Once installed it will boot from the HD. You can set the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the cd. If there is no CD in the drive it will go to the HD. Funny but it does not work the other way from the HD to the cd.
Posted by   ( ) on Feb-06-10 at 10:33:37 PST   Listings
But you may have to specify that you want to boot from the CD rather than the hard drive?
Posted by   ( ) on Feb-06-10 at 10:33:31 PST   Listings
This is one of the reasons that MS does not support OEM installs. The disks can be modified by the mfg to facilitate the installs.
Posted by   ( ) on Feb-06-10 at 10:30:52 PST   Listings
Ron yes because it will give you an option to pick a location for the install. you then can either delete or reformat.

Seadog, Will it boot to a restore disk if WinXp is partially installed to the hard drive or will it try to boot to the hard drive?
