Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before;
But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token,
And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore!"
This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!"
Merely this, and nothing more.

My sisters name is Lenore !!

Grammar Police Decree 'Twenty Ten', Not 'Two Thousand Ten'

Coming off of "two thousand nine," you'll probably say "two thousand ten." But you would be wrong, so wrong, according to the National Association of Good Grammar (NAGG).

Yes, that's true, it did have some Disney like elements to it and I didn't mind the wordless interaction. I was fine with the story all the way to the end where it became baffling. All my questions were at the end. I agree tho that it was a good movie and well worth watching.
Posted by   ( ) on Dec-26-09 at 06:11:25 PST   Listings
I figured the music in Ponyo wouldn't be a problem. I really dug that movie, because I consider it to be very primal in nature, from the opening that contains many of the same elements of a Disney classic, especially the wordless chorus portion of the music, to the main plot element of Ponyo yearning to be like her human friend. Almost all the interaction between characters involved children, so there weren't going to be any involved adult conversations going on, and I expect that was a negative for some viewers. You could rerun the movie and find a lot of questions to ask, but I just kept the fits-all answer in mind ~ "It's magic."

Nozomi Ohashi, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Drinky, watched Ponyo. Was was cute but thought the ending was odd and a bit confusing. My husband said that was the same part of the movie that bothered him as well. Artwork was really great tho. :-)

Rashka, as Drinky pointed out before, very little of "that song" was in the movie so I survived.

Hi Uma, Vicky, Sandy, Pat, et all!!!!

Vicky, I enjoyed the Dr. Who specials! I'm easy to please though! Will miss Tennant, that's for sure!

Pat, thanks again for the info!!

Uma, glad you are doing OK and not flooded out!! Hey, we just got a sprinkle of rain here!!! That will make the news tonight, been months since that happened!! Hope we get some real rain tomorrow, sure need it!!

VICKY!!! I've been wishy-washy about Torchwood. I haven't really gotten into it since Spike guest-starred (and I hated Buffy the toy-boy Slayer, but day-amn, he's growed up good)

Pat, yes, we are OK. West of me didn't do so well tho. No major damage in my neighborhood tho. Thanks for asking.

(OK, I couldn't remember if I had to code line breaks or not.)

Where there's a whip. . .

Dang, that's a goofy memory. All those Orcs were horrible droolers IIRC. I'd be running around Middle Earth with a mop. Or Sam would, probably.

Hello everyone! And happy belated birthdays to both Deb and Rashka!

Lots of stuff, lemme see. Yeah, the Doctor Who specials haven't been so great. Kinda blah, and depressing to think this is Tennant's near-last hurrah. I'm hoping the last segments make up for the daftness that came immediately before.

Then there's Torchwood . . . for all the silly episodes the last "special" series (Children of Earth) was excellent. I loved loved LOVED the ending. Jack running away is the perfect way to end the series, though I've heard rumors that there will be a 4th series sometime in the future.

Could be fun if it was just Harkness in Space, I'm sick to the back teeth of Gwen Cooper. Cute as she is, you can't get around the fact she's ANNOYING as heck.

The second episode of Flash Forward, titled "White to Play," dragged in 10.78 million viewers for ABC at 8pm on Thursday. According to the data, that's about 87% of the audience who stuck around to watch, since the 12.41 million viewers at the premiere. It has a prime slot airing before Grey's Anatomy, which already has a pretty solid fan base. It's also shown at the same time as 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, which don't really do all that well in ratings. The only other competition it has is, as I said, is Survivor. But since that reality show might be past its glory days, it has a chance to last a bit....

Thanks Pat! Looks like Flash Forward is doing OK, Fringe not so bad? Poor Jay Leno, his numbers don't look too great?! Hope it picks up for him! NBC was silly to move him to 10 pm though..should have taken the loss and paid Obrian off!

those shows are NOT doing so well in the ratings, so they might not get past the 6 or 13 week purchase the networks bought !

Hello! Is anyone watching Fast Forward and/or Fringe? Both seem really good so far! I was wondering how they could keep FlashForward going, seemed more like a move to me, but, they have lots of story lines to follow already! Has anyone watched Vampire Diaries yet? Have not had the chance to catch a whole episode yet, flipped over a few times the other night, did not appeal to me? Guess i should watch a whole episode and give it a chance?!
