Your card is: The High Priestess

The Priestess calls upon you to trust your intuition/instincts.
In this card the queen sits on the throne which represents her power. She is positioned between two pillars: black and white - which represent polarity and opposition. In her lap lies the book of knowledge and she is calm and serene.
The lesson this card gives you today is to remain calm and serene yourself in the face of opposition.
Do not react to emotions or let anxieties/worries take over - but relax and let your inner wisdom be heard.
Take time for meditation and reflection.
In the stillness our answers often make their way to us. If your mind is too busy with its chatter you cannot hear this silent wisdom.
Be still and listen to your intuition/higher power at this time.

I've got to run but I also wanted to ask for some special prayers for the family, loved ones, and animal family of a sweet lady named Cathy who volunteered with Phyllis and the Church of the Angels... She was involved in a car accident over the weekend, I don't know all of the details, I think the terrible snow and ice were a factor, but she did not survive...

Jax, the shooting here has affected many people... there were kids who witnessed it... One thing I can say is that there are lots of prayers being said... One of the girls from his school started a prayer facebook page, when I heard about it on the news, they said it already had 1000 members, when I joined, it was 2700, today, it is at 19,763 members... There have been prayer services all through the weekend, yesterday there was a prayer "walk and sing" where people lined around the school, and just started circling around it in a line, singing and praying and hoping to somehow bless the school... they did that for quite awhile, and many people joined in... They aren't releasing much real information because the shooter is a minor... I still want to know how he was able to access a gun in the first place, it makes so angry... I heard today that the victim was an organ donor, and that there were organs harvested, apparently he had written a paper about why organ donation was the right thing to do

I have a bunch of squares already cut you can have... I was going to make myself a quilt out of them but my old machine died... I think these are 4X4 square, and mostly pinks and florals, I will pull them out... I've also got some material I intended to use to cut more squares that match... Even if my machine were working, my eyes and fingers aren't, so that could be one more thing I am not storing (they're a couple of years old) lol

Knock Knock, Anybody home?

Good afternoon Angels, Just stopping by to say I sure hope the Saints win today. I'm not a Saints fan but between the two playing I pick New Orleans. I didn't like the way the Saints treated Brett Farve in the playoffs but I'm not a referee. I don't really like the Vikings but we do love Brett Farve here in Georgia. I think he is a great quarterback, Sorry Colts fan.

Now, down to the other stuff. I hope all are staying warm and safe in the areas where we have bad weather conditions.

Beth, I saw the local shooting on CNN. I'm keeping both families in my prayers. So bad we have to go thru this kind of violence in todays schools.

HELLO EVERYONE
Posted by   ( ) on Feb-06-10 at 16:30:34 PST   Listings
Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone out there would have any fabric scraps lying around that they would like to get rid of for a good cause. I became disable at the age of 37 and started quilting small quilts to donate to the association Bikers against Child Abuse. This is an awesome organization that lets those children that are victims of abuse no that they have someone that is there to protect them. I donate my time and fabric to make these quilts but I'm running low on material to get these completed and with being on disability this gives me a limited income and now I really don't have the extra cash to purchase alot of fabric. So I would like to reach out to all of you and ask for support if you are able. I will be glad to pay any shipping cost that I need to. Thank You all very much for your time and consideration to this matter. God Bless you all! mrbogenpohl

that is really sad about the shootings. As much as you can keep guns locked up, kids get into them anyhow, they know where the key is or its real easy to buy a gun these days. They are just too easy to find. Sad results. I know the boy who killed Tyler stole his fathers locked up guns and bullets, they were in 2 different spots. He was unregistered, had NO hunter safety course, no licence. This boy was sentenced to no guns for 7 years and then has to go through a parol board to ask if he can use a gun. He messed up BIG TIME this fall when He went hunting with his uncle and shot 3 deer.... his sentence was no strong enough. That was total disrespect to our family. I can't even look at guns or watch shows where one goes off..and he is the one who pulled the trigger and held Tyler die in his arms...yet unlicenced, un educated and out shooting deer again...makes me sick

Have you heard if they found that gal from Ann Arbor that went missing Friday around 5pm it was a amber alert!

Your card is: The Tower

The Tower represents those things in life that are completely unpredictable.
Sudden changes in direction that alter our path "from out of left field". Many times this is challenging at first and other times it comes as a great relief.
The biggest lesson of this card is to know that change is inevitable and that to all things are a reason and a season. At this time you may find that you have faced some recent upheavals that are leaving you feeling a bit confused or uncertain about the future.
This card tells you to make the most of changes as they come up.
If you find you have been meeting the same types of challenges repeatedly however, the Tower can remind you that when you go against your soul purpose or destiny the Universe has a way of "shaking things up" to get you moving in the right direction again.
Make the most of the situation and look for any opportunities for good to come out of it.

"Go Red For Women" celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.

Thanks to the participation of millions of people across the country, the color red and the red dress now stand for the
ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives.

Friday, February 5th, is National Go Red for Women Day, an event designed to raise awareness about the leading killer among women -- heart disease.

Everyone can support the fight against heart disease in women by wearing red.

On my "me" page is info on ordering your own (free) "Red Dress Pin" from the American Heart Association if you are interested.

I got my pin last year, and will be wearing my red today as well.

Hello, just a update on the family members who ware sick... My sister is getting a few units of blood as her chemo is lowering her white blood count but her pain is under control, that is good. it is shrinking the tumor.

My mother in law is back home again after having 2 tia's and seems every 8 days has to have blood, which is getting harder to match her antiboties in her blood.

My beautiful Sister in law starts to prep for her radioactive iodine pill to kill all the cancer cells in her body, will be in a lead room for a few days and then will go for some tests after that, maybe surgery, she has the cancer in her tracea (sp).

Power of prayer...please continue to pray for them...I hold you all in my prayers.

hope all is well and your keeping warm. we are :)

good info in the ever changing economy/ career changes

Job rejections can destroy the strongest of people and derail your job hunt in an instant. If you truly feel that something you're doing during interviews is preventing you from scoring the gig you desire, check out the following tips on how to improve in this tough market:

Focus on Your Skills-

Nothing is more important to talk about during an interview than your variety of skills. Your typing speed, attention to detail, and positive attitude may seem bland to you, but can really prove to be the skills that put you above the rest. Flaunt your stuff and show off (without being too cocky) when you interview. Be proud of your accomplishments and show your interviewers why your skills are paramount for the role you're being interviewed for. Examples to back up your claims are always great to have on hand to drive your point home, too.

Consider Relocating-

If being rejected by employers is something that has been happening constantly, it may be time to branch out. Look into different types of roles that are interesting to you in locations you would consider moving to. You may discover that your valuable skills can be utilized in a different role and town. Also, now may be the perfect opportunity to live your dream and move to New York City. At the very least, do some homework and find out the benefits and disadvantages of moving to a new city and the cost to move.

Take an Interviewing Course-

If you are still not receiving job offers after constant interviews, consider working with a professional. Take a class about interviewing skills or attend a resume-writing workshop. It helps to have an outsider who doesn't know you review what you have to offer and give you valuable insight as to how to present yourself better. You may find that a few tweaks here and there are all you need to score that dream job soon.

Have you done everything above and are still unable to get the job you desire? Consider the following:

It Wasn't Meant to Be

It's always disappointing to not get the one you were determined to get, but it's OK. If it was meant to be, you would have gotten the job. The right job will happen for you in time. Finding the perfect job takes a ton of patience, hard work, and determination. Use this rejection as fuel for your next interview and let go of the negativity by remembering that the perfect job is still out there waiting for you.

It's Not You

Beating yourself over it by constantly replaying the interview in your head and nit-picking about everything you said won't help. Chances are that the interviewers liked you and felt you really were a perfect fit. Unfortunately in this economy, the competition is tougher, meaning that the other candidates were perfect for the role, too. Realizing that you're not the reason for being rejected is a liberating feeling and will keep you motivated on your job search. Keep being you and move on to the next interview.

Don't let your failed interviews drag you down and hold you back anymore. Stay in a positive state of mind and follow the tips above to shine during your future interviews.

I read somewhere to treat job hunting as a job- do something towards looking , interviewing every day

Again, I fully apologize if you felt mislead by my intentions. And I do agree with you on your comments though. I would never scam anyone by asking for help and using it towards any other means other then what it was intended for. I will take your advice into consideration in the future, and set some funding aside for these situations.

hockeyguycitrusheights - good. I like that. But you did buy items on ebay that would tend to show that you spend money on things you could do without to get items that you actually need.

Again, glad someone is helping you. Most if not all the gals (and a few guys) on this site have very modest incomes as it is.

Why judge people? I did get some help after all, and when that help arrives, I will prove my case via pictures that the money went towards the transportation tickets and not some scam you are accusing me of.

hockeyguycitrusheights - when you post a need and your buying shows that you could have purchased those tickets with the money spent on toys, what do you expect? Not rude. Stating the facts. Too many people think that is it is OK to spend money on toys then ask other people to cover their needs.

Today's Card: Six of Cups

In this card we see the older person sharing her cup with a child.
Around them are the five other cups all filled with flowers. This
indicates a coming together of tradition with new ideas, a blending
and harmonizing of energies.

This card reminds us to breathe new life into stagnant endeavors,
and also reminds us not to let the past determine our future. This
is the coming together of the teacher and the student; a positive
blend of logic and intuition.

This is also a card of Good will and charity. Notice and appreciate
the abundance in your life, and share some inspiration with others
today.

What we put out comes back to us, today be conscious of your thoughts
and the energy you give out. Know that charitable thoughts and
actions always come back when you need them in the future.

Be a good friend to someone today, and be willing to just listen.

This card challenges us to look for the blessings in all situations,
and to see the best in all people we meet. Everyone you meet is your
teacher.

Chris-
as long as your daughter has it in her contract ( not verbal but IN writing) ) that she can sleep (lightly, cat naps, etc ) while taking care of someone ( while punched in on the clock)
she can get fired or even sued

When I worked midnights at the hospital - we would sometimes take our 2 -15 minute breaks together (punched out) and take a nap in the medication or supply room while the other nurses watched over the unit
Posted by   ( ) on Feb-01-10 at 18:30:03 PST   Listings

Your card is: The Hierophant

This is a card of high responsibility where you are called upon to consider the possible long-term rewards/consequences of your actions. What you are contemplating at this time will impact more than just yourself and you need to consider this as you move forward with this venture.

This card shows the holy man who looks to his higher wisdom because he knows his congregation is going to be looking to his example. This card can speak of rigidity and dogmatism and depending on the context can indicate that perhaps you are too dependent on the advice of others or previously formed structures and should consider doing something "against the grain" or it can indicate that perhaps you need to be a bit more disciplined or practical.

Your card is: The Moon

The Moon is the card that represents the deep inner worlds of subconscious thought, intuition, and also emotion.
When this card comes up it indicates a period of time where you are facing an emotional issue or perhaps a bout of depression or uncertainty is present as well.
This card teaches us to learn to listen to the "still small voice" within rather than get too socked into emotion.
If you are feeling anxious or a great deal of stress ? take the time now to find a constructive outlet to release these emotions so that you can better reconnect with your intuition and inner wisdom.

Hello all, I am trying to help a real cool "special needs" 9yr old named Ethan that caught the coin collecting bug in 2009. I am trying to get him some older coins(mainly US ones for now, because non-US coins sometimes confuses him). I am looking for starter type coins not good enough for auction or if you have any supplies you don't need any more, out of date red, blue or other coin books so he can look at how prices change over time or "how to" books on collecting coin or even coins you would just like to donate. I have given him what starter coins and duplicates that I had, but that is limited because when I was overseas in the Marines in the 80's my parents sold my collectables, mint baseball cards, 1st edition hotwheel cars still in the box and ALL my coins and supplies in a garage sale for $50 and thought they were doing me a favor. He is trying to buy some by doing some little chores, but it is hard for him, his mom has to stay home to take care of him and to also take care of her husband that bacame disabled a couple years ago and with all the stress on the mom she had what the doctor called a silent heart attack and is having chest pains again. By getting into coins he is taking stress off of her and it helps take the families stress off of Ethan. If you are interested, please send an email to EPHARP@AOL.COM. Thank you and Semper FI, Everett

A little move to the bank sounds good Renee for your had earned $$$$....even if you don't have a big planting area you can do some veggies in containers or just a small spot will yield enough to eat and if they are prolific enough some to can. I only plant in a small area out in the front of my house and get enough to eat and can a little. My sis does a large garden and shares so I am fortunate and we have a group that plants acres....last year they planted 300 tomato plants and 100 cucumber plants as well as carrots, lettuce etc. One day a week they give away produce so it is very nice for everyone.
Donna glad to hear the little one is home and doing better...HE does listen to all prayers....sleep well and dream happy and trust in our LORD.

Hi Beth And Sandy

it sure was hard today to not dip into my change jar when all I needed was to buy something for under $10 ( remember I started saving last Nov - all change, $1s and $5s for my upcoming trip in a few weeks )

I think I'm going to carry my change tin into the bank Monday and put the $ into my savings account
Posted by   ( ) on Jan-30-10 at 16:08:04 PST   Listings
January is almost over....how much could you have already saved in your *change jar* if you had started at the first of the month?? Don't delay....get started now...it is never too late to save your change and help yourself and it adds up so quickly. One person suggested to me that the *change jar* use for them is a *garden jar*... reaping benefits twice by using the change to purchase seeds/plants and then harvesting their crops from the garden to can and use this winter and/or sharing with friends and neighbors....that is a *good* thing and a great idea.

The blade on some DADO Saws was adjustable to change the depth of the cut. The blade can only cut till you hit the wood handle. That way you get real nice uniform depth on each cut.

Sunny, You use that saw to cut 2 paralel cuts to the same depth. Then chisle the remaining wood from between the 2 cuts so that you end up with a nice squarded up grove. You then butt the end of another board in the grove to make a stronger joint. These days I use a DADO Blade in a table saw for the same purpose.

Today's Card is the Four of Cups
In this card we see the young man sitting beneath the tree looking rather perplexed and kind of tired. He is really focused on those three half-empty and spilled cups on the ground before him.

He's so caught up in his focus on those cups that he doesn't see the hand of the divine reaching out to him with an overflowing chalice. This card speaks of both law of attraction and being open minded.

What we focus our energy on tends to continue to manifest. When we are so focused on limitations and lack we leave no room for new opportunities and circumstances to enter - not because the Universe isn't working to provide them, but because we become blind to them in our worries/negative thoughts etc.

Today take time to focus on acceptance, embracing change and focusing on abundance and allow more blessings to flow into your life.

Well I had best get out of here. If I sit at my desk too long I will end up getting into something that will keep me here for hours.

my MIL had 2 small strokes today, went to the hosp by ambulance as code 4. They are thinking she may have a big one. Not much they can do for her with the disease her blood is already too thin and not much of it. Its just seems to be hitting my kids now...We went and saw her last night, she seemed to be doing so good and then this morning it all started. Extra prayers for her. Her name is Judy.

Happy news my sister's cancer treatment seem to be working, her scan showed the tumor shrinking and she had a good day today... power of prayer.

I am sending my prayers to all that are in need.... Its cold here tonight -28 below. sweet dreams
