spuffy I agree 110% I was 15 when my mom passed away I was left with old photo's she had I know who some are but have many many that I have no idea who they are and wish I knew. Very few have name and or dates on them.

Hello,

NOt sure what is going on since I didnt read every post. I'm really outta the loop of the goings on here which isnt totally a bad thing :)

I did see we have a challenge below and I will try to find a picture of my grandma or grandpa. In honor of Rose Villa and how Awesome SAC is I will pledge $10 but will send to her next week. I will e-mail her directly.

I hope all my friends are healthy and happy. Abby is great. I will try to post a pic of her as well. You will be amazed at how much she has grown :)

One last picture, and its not an old one, but its a reminder to ME why doing something for folks in a nursing home is a good thing...

My mom... As you saw in some of the old photos, she was a beautiful lady... Now, she's got a twisted useless body, only 2 fingers work and she's losing that (Stroke)... Can't breathe half the time needs oxygen and nebulizer and meds (COPD)... She has a list of other problems, diabetes, high bp, more recently issues with her heart rate... She's been in that situation, in that chair for 10 years, and in a nursing home almost 3... She has days she doesn't realize where she is, or who I am, or when someone last spoke to her (even if it was recent)... she often has this same blank stare, she just zones out (I hope into someplace better)... She's lost her body, her health, her hair, her husband, her memory, her freedom... but you know what, she can still smile when she knows that someone cares... She's still a beautiful lady to me...

When I travel down the hallway to see her, I pass countless more able bodied folks, starving for someone to care...

take time to care, won't you?

Mrs Papa I like the pictures, the one of Mr Papa in the shirt is special, except he looks like he's hurting... you can see the pain in his face... I hope that eases up for him soon

when you go to your photobucket, under a photo are 4 choices... If you pick the one that says "html" then post it here, it will post an actual picture instead of a link.. You may want to adjust your upload size, the pictures you've uploaded are rather large for this board... also, once you have already uploaded a picture, you can edit it, and resize it, just look at the options along the top of the picture

Ok I got that part figured out. Thank you foster_mommy. The pictures posted here are so cool. We went through some old ones. I received and old one of my mom in front of the 1 room school house she went to. Her cousin sent them to me. I love old photos. I makes you wonder what was going on at that time. Ok time for a break, joints & muscles trying to torture me today. Oh first Orthopedic Dr refused to take Papa. Now they are trying to get him into Head of Ortho Surgery at U of I, in Iowa City. He took care of Papa after the first accident. Hugs & prayers to all who need them.

nice looking young lady, I say if you got it flaunt it, it can be done with good taste, and all 4 girls I've seen so far have been in good taste, in fact 5 ladies, mom of 3 is a nice looking lady also :)

I can't imagine trying to raise 3 very beautiful teen agers, all girls, I'd be in the loony bin for sure!

Papalack, I post photos using photobucket. There are other hosting sites out there. I find this one to be one of the easiest. Make an account there, it's free. After you do that you'll be able to upload a pic to your account. After you are finished uploading, you can edit the pic, resize the pic, etc. Once you are done and you re-save the picture, the html code (needed to post here) will show. Just cut and past the HTML here, and it will show up in your post. I showed below two ways to do it and what will happen when you choose the wrong code!

Single Mother Recently left Abusive Relationship Needs Help for girl 9




Hello, My daughter and I left my abusive husband, or should I say we escaped with the clothing on backs and Thank God our Lives. We were living in Florida and I drove to Tennessee where we are trying very hard to make a life for ourselves. It is very difficult. When I see people asking for Christmas presents for their children, although I understand, the thought of Christmas is beyond reach for us. We need help with the basic needs to live. Like shoes, my daughter has a pair of flip flops and a pair of worn out sneakers, as do I. It is getting cold here and since we left with only the clothes on backs we have nothing warm. I used every cent I had to rent a tiny house for us.
We are very grateful to be alive and if anyone out there has the ability or desire to help us in any way we would be forever grateful and appreciative of anything, even prayers.
Sorry I do not have a camera or computer to post pics, I am using the Library computer.

Back for a minute...

After all this disgusting discussion, started by ignorance...

Yes...a WONDERFUL project has been derailed.

I just received a call letting me know that one of my pts has passed away this morning. Sienna was priviledged to have treated him as well as in-pt.

He was a HIGHLY ranked officer in the military, well respected pilot. His home was decorated with tons of awards and recognitions. He proudly showed me a number of things in his home office that were fabulous and some have already been designated to a certain USA FAMOUS museum(s).

I am proud to have been able to SERVE him. Now I'd like to dedicate the rest of this day in remembrance of HIM in honor to Rose Villa Project.

The festivities here will continue. I'm going to see his wife and family now.

Speaking of Parties... we are fixin' to have a little get together over here this afternoon. There will be copious amounts of alcohol consumed.

I will take keys from anyone and have plenty of space if any of those with confiscated keys needs to sleep it off.

No underage drinkers will be here, but sometimes the older gang make less than perfect decisions as well.

I'll make sure to post pictures, myself, so no one else has to.

Spuffy, I'm from San Diego and even in my day...Cyndi18 and I wore Daisy Dukes and tied bandanas around our selves as a top. That was being "Bad" then.

Sometimes I can't keep my mouth shut, LOL. I looked at those pics in the links. Tree, you must be VERY old-fashioned to think the girls are dressed "provocatively". They look pretty normal to me!

Granted, teens shouldn't be drinking or using drugs and they shouldn't be advertising it if they do, BUT...I remember being 16/17 *big grin*

I think the girls are beautiful, deserve to have the right to post their pictures where THEY want them, without having them splattered here on this forum, without their permission.

I agree with you ALL, they should be made private, but only due to the fact that they are beautiful girls and unsafe with those-that-lurk to cause harm.

I just saw on the news where a teacher posted her vacation pictures on her facebook, posted one where she's got a margarita in her hand. Her kindergarten students mother saw it, reported it... teacher is now unemployed.



I was refering to this "Mother" reporting the teacher for having vacation fun... She is a adult I assume, why should it matter if she took a vacation and had a drink? it's not like she was drinking in front of students

I am not going to choose sides in the latest argument. If I were the mom of these kids, I'd have them definitely make their pics private. It is widely known by law enforcement officials that teenage kids use pacifiers when they're using ecstasy so that they don't bite/chew their lips. They're also used to protect teeth from the gnashing against each other, which of course is something that happens when you use ecstasy.

In no way am I inferring these girls are drug users. They might just want to look cool and let others know they're into the whole "rave" thing, even if they are not. Regardless, making the photos private will prevent any kind of assumptions being made by people viewing them.

My knucklehead nephew used to smoke marijuana. He had pics of himself with related paraphrenalia on his myspace. Idiot! He wants to be a police officer. I was like "ummmmmmm, duh!"

I think what the mother did, was uncalled for. We have our profile's set on private, wouldn't have it any other way.

You can also make your profile not private, but your photo's private. SO, unless your on the friend's list, you cannot see any photo's, but you can read the basic's, you can also make your friend's not appear on your page's to just anyone (only to friends)

I have it all set on private, but I do know of these options.

And "Judgement" is not for anyone on this board, yet it's being done daily.

I have to agree with the private part by posting publicly on any site and their names and where they live out in the public for anyone to see something awful could happen to them there are so many nuts out in this world and they are pretty girls. They need to post privately anyone anywhere could copy and paste if it isn't private. I agree with Julie this needs to be done for their safety.

I think these myspace and facebook things have gotten out of hand a lot. So many cyber stalkers with nothing to do but visit sites, copy pictures, post them in places they don't belong... and for what? To cause trouble for everyone.

They are no longer used for purposes they were intended for, that's for sure.

all my girls are kept private and they are not to add anyone that they do not personaly know, I also have passwords so I can check not only on them but also see who they are friends with. Although as yet I have not had reason to check up on them.
