Hi Guys,
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Gwen you even got the colors right. We will have a brief slow slow down as Connor is out new week for Mardi Gras. Finally all the Xmas decorations are in the attic. And of course most of the country had snow today and for some reason most of our town lost power. Go figure. Made for an interesting drive to/from school with no traffic lights. Send me a snowball but keep the mushy stuff. Jo/Gwen # 1 son is on standby for somewhere I will let you know if he is headed in your direction.

Hello everyone.... !
Very cold here today... No snow other then left over piles here and there along the roads from the last snow were it was cleared in some areas…

Sorry I have been so busy today...
Many things ended last evening and I was gone to DD until quite late last night! I think we got home about 11pm! Then I got up late... I had running to USPS this afternoon as I missed to Postman's pick-up! Also I had a 1st class international package too, so I had to go to the USPS anyhow, can't do them on line!!

Ines - Thanks You We did have a great time and as you can see it was safe trip too! Ya know it seems your always galloping by quickly or out the door, but nice that you had a little time to tend here!!

Debio - Where you at GF? You need to get back in to visit us here as do the many others who are missing!

JO - I hope your keeping warm.... and not over doing it!

Cassy -How nice to see you... I received the EM, just have not had time to reply!

Congratulations on your 1st eBay trnasaction !

Go back to the auction page - you will see that it gives the UK price

That is always true of auctions listed in currencies different from yours- 2 prices are given

The seller will send you an invoice in GBP for the total.
Click on PAY and PayPal will do the moeny conversion for you.
You do not need to worry about conversion rates.

But if you are interested in the latest rate, scroll down to the big welcome post I posted and click on "CURRENCY CONVERTER"

Hello everyone,
Can somebody turn off the rain and snow for a min . . .
I'm deseprately seeking brown lace up boots called "minnie" designed by Vince Camuto in size 9, 9.5 or 10.
I've searched high and low even called the distibutor and they are out of stock.
Endless shoes have these in black but I want the brown.
Does anyone know where I can purchase these boots or does anyone have a pair they want to sell?

Hello everyone... !
Well I'm trying to get the house ready to show tomorrow 11am - 12pm... I sure wish I had a huge wet vac to suck all the water out of the yard to clean it up a bit!!

Ines - It has been another rough day here with Ole`Vista again !! DH has been back and forth with support all day with our computer maker, No luck as yet with them!
I actually got the scry "blue screen" a bit ago when I hooked up my camera to it!! BTW the camera cases nothing scary with DH's 2006 XP puter!!
If I had purchased is just 26 days later then I had to I would have had a free Windows 7 upgrade!! WE feel anyone who got stuck with Vista should get the upgrade since it is a terrible windows that is more unstable then Windows ME ever was!!

Hello and welcome to IT chat...

As Smileyriley stated "Read real good all the rules in selling on ebay first before starting out!"

...and additionally Please do yourself (and your buyers) a big favor
- find out how eBay works before you try to sell...
Do some buying...
Earn some FB...
Few people are going to be buying from someone with 0 or a low FB.
Then sell domestically first - until you are confident about it.

You can also scroll down the board and learn about Scams & Shipping rules etc.
There are many help posts posted throughout the day and we try to keep them on the board as they scroll off we re-post them!

    hello and welcome..
    Your buyer is very inexperienced with Customs and the policies of his country.

    He seems to be missing the points that
    - items pass through Customs going from one country into another
    - Customs in HIS country will choose what they do with a parcel
    - no one has any control over what Customs agents will do

    It is your sole obligation, as the seller, to fill out a customs form correctly.

    It is the buyer's responsibility to know what Customs rules are for his country, and what fees or duties he may need to pay in order to receive his parcel.

    I have shipped items to many countries. Recently I had one package help up in customs. This is the first time that it has happened. As far as I know I did everything as usual.

    Ebay seems to think that everything will be delivered to locations like Polland, Hungary, etc by registered mail from the US within 30 days. We have been doing catelog sales in that part of the world for years and find that the average time for delivery exceeds 30 days by registered mail. When will they quite allowing members (Buyers) in that part of the world from opening claims and filing negative feedback for non-receipt. I must understand their procees as if it continues I will not sell to those countries any more. I have had 4 problems in the last 3 months. Now I have a purchase on 1-8-2010 and already have negative feedback and on another two claims.

    *Attention U.S. SELLERS*

    HELPFUL INFORMATION for INTERNATIONAL SELLING

      General Information

    1. ALWAYS ship your international packages using United States Postal Service (USPS)

    2. Private companies such as UPS/FedEx/DHL etc. will charge the international buyer extra fees called customs brokerage fees. These brokerage fees can be quite large and will be a nasty surprise to the buyer.
      The USPS does not charge these extra fees.
      However, your recipients may be required to pay customs duty and taxes on their purchases, based on the value etc, no matter how the item is shipped.

    3. CUSTOMS: Be sure to enter ONLY the purchase/winning bid price for the value on the customs declaration.
      Do not inflate the value to reflect its worth to you, or its replacement value. Do not include shipping charges.
      Additionally, do not mark items as "GIFT" for your recipients or declare a lower value.
      It is against the law to falsify customs documents!

    Greetings to ITer's!!
    ~~~Waves at Ines, Lefty, Cassy, Clara, Jo and the many missing~~~
    It's beginning to warm up today just a little...
    Boy putting in the new heat system here has certainly been great with this additional nasty cold weather we are having!!
    LOL my new hobby lately is reformatting my hard drive!! My puter had troubles which is the reason why I have been missing yesterday!!
    If you have a computer loaded with Windows Vista and your USB is suddenly not being recognized...
    taking it back in time a few days or even to brand NEW will NOT FIX it!! If this happens to your Puter loaded with Windows (unstable) Vista just simply remove the battery from the laptop for a few minutes and then replace it!! :)
    I just wish we had tried that before we did all the loosing of my documents and everything!! :(
    It's a good thing though that I had my documents backed up!
    Just made lots of work and moving stuff around etc. all for nothing!!
    My mother's knee has been healing very nicely and fast too! She is already off the walker and walking well without any aid!! She's still at my sisters though and today she was playing the WII bowling game with my sister's 2 youngest kids are 7 & 10yrs and they are not back to school yet as north east Nashville got about 5 inches of snow in her area!
    Here in the south things close when it snows as they do not invest in road clearing equiptment for what little bit of snow we get here in TN.
    Oh Ines cross-country skiing sounds like fun!! I hope you were careful... I see your absent so far today!!
    Clara - You must of sent some warmth up east of you to us here as we are just a couple of degrees lower then you today! It is in the high 40s and the snow is beginning to melt off of our roadways!
    I guess I would not go out house hunting in the snow, unless I had to move quickly. So spring will probably bring more lookers to your house.
    Good afternoon everyone....
    ...Sorry I'm late today... DH's fault, he kept me up nearly all night with another... GB attack!
    :(
    I'm so tired... and yes Ines I am trying to rest every chace I get!
    Our snow arrived almost like the weather folks told us last evening... Just a bit later then they predicted!! They said it would arrive about 4am, but it did not begin until approx. 11am and it has come pretty steady now and we have a little accumulation, maybe an inch and a half to 2 so far!
    Clara I would love to trade you temps today!
    Lefty thanks for sharing you findings and I certainly agree with Ines on that issue...
    eBay will never get it as they are only out to make money for them, and sooner or later the backbone of eBay will crumble. They will loose their most important folks!
    Right the listing sellers!
    scam alert for sellers!
    Do any of these apply to your sales?
    • expensive items, such as electronics, laptops, ipods, etc
    • newly registered bidder
    • bidder negotiates via email, often tells involved story
    • bidder uses BIN
    • bidder wants item shipped to Nigeria, or other overseas place
    • bidder wants to pay via PayPal ( there is no PayPal in Nigeria )
    • bidder says PayPal ( or Western Union etc) will issue payment only after you ship item
    • fake emails are sent to seller from payment service
    • bidder wants to use their own escrow service, not www.escrow.com, recommended by eBay
    • bidder wants you to use their shipping service
    • bidder may offer to pay more than the auction price
    • bidder overpays & asks for excess to be returned via Western Union Cash transfer
    • bidder may have bid on many expensive items in a short time
    If a scammer is bidding on, or has won, your auction- what should you do ?
    * cancel the bid, if the auction is still running
    * and block that bidder from bidding
    * stop communicating with the scammer
    * report the scammer to eBay
    * to contact eBay, go to this page:
    http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/avoid-problems.html
    or
    If the scammer's email came via the eBay messaging system, use the "report" link on it to report it to eBay.
    To avoid these scammers in the future consider one or more of the following:
    - ship only to the USA
    - block bidders from countries to which you do not ship
    - require instant payment for BINs
    Hi !
    My cousin came over yest and we now have a mirror up behind the tv once again and waited 5 yrs to it to be done...Now have my larger meds cabinet in bathroom but at expense of another cabinet and small meds cabinet..And yrs ago I did not see depth-wise the vanity I picked out would be too big width wise and thank you god for me not getting the sink part the water goes into yet...Will look around sometime in Menards or Home Depot or Lowes for sinks that dont take up much space.. Took care of person in apt for partof day and grateful for daughter coming to visit so could go home and see the cabinet up but one catch, the light is direct wire and needs toggle switch to make the lights work on it..Jim was going to check something out and get back to me...but he was talking of doing something in the towel cabinet --only have 2 shelves in whole thing and thought could make some shelves from the wood I have and use them in the cabinet..works for me as need lots of cabinet space ..dont have lots of it in house...
    i was reading about the new structure as well and it appears eBay will make out better as they are raising the FVF from 8.75% to 9% and also raising the fixed price listing fee to $0.50 the under $1 to list fee was only $.15 before. I don't see where they will be helping anyone other then those you mentioned in the counterfeit capital of the world!
    When you mailed that package in Hong Kong does your shipping service have tracking in Hong Kong? If so you can check the number with the shipper in Hong Kong to see if it made it to customs? I would think that you could handle it through the company you mailed it with if it is not showing up in the USA at their delvery service tracking.
    Here is a USPS tack and confirm link
    Been listening to the tennis as well, Serina just won another game now through to the semi finals, she is very popular out here and people just love to watch her play.
    Hello and welcome.
    Are you tryibg to register as a sellere on eBay.com ?
    You cannot do that.
    You need to do so at a site near you.
    Once youy have registered as a seller, not matter where, you can list on eBay.com
    Make sure that you make the location of your items very clear.
    BUT ...
    wouldn't it be a good idea to find out how eBay works,
    before starting to sell here ?
    What does further situation mean in your question?
    The USPS had nothing to do with mailing packages from other countries... Only the seller is in the "United States of America" can use the USPS to send packages!
    USPS = "United States Postal Service" it is the goverment shipping/mailing system within the United States.
    *Attention U.S. SELLERS*
    HELPFUL INFORMATION for INTERNATIONAL SELLING
      General Information
    1. ALWAYS ship your international packages using United States Postal Service (USPS)
    2. Private companies such as UPS/FedEx/DHL etc. will charge the international buyer extra fees called customs brokerage fees. These brokerage fees can be quite large and will be a nasty surprise to the buyer.
      The USPS does not charge these extra fees.
      However, your recipients may be required to pay customs duty and taxes on their purchases, based on the value etc, no matter how the item is shipped.
    3. CUSTOMS: Be sure to enter ONLY the purchase/winning bid price for the value on the customs declaration.
      Do not inflate the value to reflect its worth to you, or its replacement value. Do not include shipping charges.
      Additionally, do not mark items as "GIFT" for your recipients or declare a lower value.
      It is against the law to falsify customs documents!
    Someone on the Q & A board did a google search and figured out what NHS means. NHS stands for Nikon Historical Society. The person who had emailed me, telling me about how he bought an mint boxed Nikon F2 on ebay-but the serial numbers on the camera and the box didn't match. He wouldn't have bid so high if he knew that. My favorite answer for what NHS stood for was "Not Having Spaghetti".
    Does NHS refer to what they are selling ?
    Or to a charity ?
    If it's what they are selling, it could be anything..
    otherwise I can think of
    National Health Service
    National Honor Society
    Natonal Highway System
    Hello
    I am trying to call USPS in America on the number listed on their site
    1-800-275-8777
    But my carrier in India (Airtel) is giving me an automated message
    "The number you are trying to reach is not a valid number"
    Am I missing some international code? Like to call any mobile no. in India from outside India you have to add +91 before the mobile no. For landlines +91 regional code then the landline number...
    Is there something similar in the US
    Am i trying to reach a no. listed only for local support?
