Lucky sellers.. Ebay will refund all listing and selling fees because buyers cannot search and bid on items. Past the word to the lucky sellers who have items listed during this outage. Bad news, sellers have to take the loss and cannot cancel sales that have a bid and less than 12 hours left.

Hi everyone--Ines, Gwen, Lefty, Clearancepuppy, and everyone that is missing!
Eye exam turned out real good--no more new lenses for another yr...and if have my say will be another 2 yrs before going back again..

Ines, must be very long sticks!! And yes agree it is nice out albeit cool but it could be worse...snow..uggggg

Was shopping in the big town today and found 2 tops and 1 has to go back...and I also forgot my printer ink cartridges and was 1/2 way home when remembered...changed computer carriers and have been waiting for him to show me how to do it..I had tried but was not all the way right and he called on Day of Eye Exam while I was gone ...he came today and did what I couldnt and we deleted some cookies and hope the thing runs better..
Have had too much caffeine tonite..way it goes sometimes!

    I had a great time shopping and actually mahanagedto find some things I liked !

    Nope I don't see the Fashion vault thingie.
    I use Firefox and have it set so it doesn't allow certain scripts.

    I can't stand IE, but I have it on my puter.
    Also I have Opera and Google Chrome, in addition to Firefox.
    IMO, those 3 are much better browsers than IE..

    Hummmmmmmmmmmm I was removed from top sellers because I have not sold enough items even though my ratings are two 5.0's for MY communication & Descriptions and then I have two 4.9s for the USPS for shipping time and costs! Even though I do not have a handle fee and I mail items out within 24 hours of cleared payments!

    I will go out on a limb here and share an experience I had with a China shipper...and I was just getting back into the buying game again...did NOT read the page thoroughly...apparently they were charging $30.00 for shipping. The item started at .99, and sure enough I won it at around $3 or so...but was I ever shocked when I got the invoice for over $30.00...live and learn.

    The item was not old, as advertised.

    The good things about this were:

    It is an interesting item...conversation piece, for sure!
    It was packed more securely than I have ever seen ANYTHING packed, EVER.
    They included a free gift, a small piece of jade or something like it on a string...inexpensive souvenir, I'm sure.

    Then later, they and my positive feedback disappeared.

    I also would prefer buyers to refrain from bidding on my items if they are only going to complain about it in my feedback, or insist on a refund because they think the shipping is too high.

    Hello and welcome.
    I see you joined eBay today and you are already listing - that is very brave of you.
    We generally advise new eBayers to learn something about how eBay works by buying some things first. That not only shows you how experienced sellers operate, but it also builds up your FB.
    A lot of people will pass by a seller with 0 FB. - but some scammers will try to take advantage of them.

    If you choose "worldwide" in the "ships to" location of your sell-your-item form, then your item will be seen worldwide.
    You can revise that listing that you have and choose "worldwide".

    Your listing description will be in whatever language you wrote it is. I see it is in English.
    If you are registered in Germany, all the communication from eBay to you will be in German. That is the way it is.

    I'm off to do more work in the yard - it's supposed to rain tomorrow etc.. so trying to make use of the good weather.

    So far we have long sturdy sticks, but nothing on top. This is a private road out there and apparently different people plow that and they need to know how wide the driveway is so that they do not pile snow in front of it.
    Then a different person is going to clean our own drive.
    I guess when they do it a few times, it will be obvious where the plowing is supposed to be.
    But it's so nice out there that it's hard to think of snow!

    Ines, are you using the red backlight things for markers for the person doing your drive? they shine at nite when lights hit them.. that is what I would use to mark the way for the guy to plow your drive...or just have him come and you show him where you want him to go ...

    I'd just like to emphasize that if you are buying more than one thing from ANY seller - BEFORE you bid - find out what the combined shipping will be.
    Never assume anything.
    And this is particularly true of some sellers in the Counterfeit Capital of the World..

    Your very Welcome... I did receive the email...
    WOW were you ever taken by that terrible Seller who is indeed circumventing fees! Best of luck to you with eBay helping you as the seller is certainly gouging you on the shipping!

    A very valuable lesson learned, although best to learn from other errors... I do hope folks who browse the chat boards will learn from your costly experience!!

    Never ever bid multiple items when a seller states discounted shipping and the items are $0.99 each and Shipping is $18 or more!! They will tally that shipping cost up and drop it $2 or $3 dollars and say they gave you a discount!!

    Always email for an exact quoted total by email before you bid multiple items from any seller!

    According to eBay policy you are obligated to pay that seller... but I would wait to see if eBay feels the seller is circumventing fees though before I paid if I where in your shoes...

    We have lots of folks who have had the very same problem, most often with China sellers.

    I am truly sorry that this happened to you.

    Hello ~~~Waves to all my IT chat friends!!

    I went to bed early last night I was soooooo tired as yesterday afternoon I helped DH rake up the old leaves which were piled thick in our swampy oops lovely wooded area out front next to our long winding road driveway!
    We have very light rain today and I hope we don't get anymore!! The woods is finally beginning to dry up a bit from all the flooding we've had lately!!

    Hi Tenngwen, thanks for your reply. How would I know if the auction was legitimate or not? It's behaving as any other auction on ebay that I've participated in. The items are listed under "won" in "myebay" and the seller sent an invoice.
    As you suggested, I reported the item numbers to Customer Support. What happens next? Does Ebay cancel the transaction? Do I write the seller and ask him to cancel the transaction? Thanks again.

    but lots of other things to do.
    We're supposed to put in markers for the end of our driveways for the snow plow. We have a circular drive but we're going to use only one end of it in the winter. I don't want to have to pay for all that plowing.

    Just be very careful that your not entering a scam or a listing where the seller does not provide shipping costs in their listings... Or you may have the same problem as poster annastellina below.

    Answer: YES indeed!!

    This is a very common complaint from buyer's who do not pay attention to the Shipping costs and many CHINA sellers are scamming folks this way!

    It is always a good idea to email the sellers who do NOT disclose shipping costs within the listings before you bid and get exact costs to your mailing address prior to a purchase...
    It they gouge you for more when your invoiced you can email eBay with the problem if the seller will not ship to you with the quoted agreed amount!

    Hello everyone, I am looking for a little guidance. I am a new ebayer and have run into a problem. I recently bought 7 little items on ebay (carved bone boxes measuring 3 inches each. The cost for the items was $6.93, but the cost for the shipping is $113. Is this normal? I should have been more careful when bidding, but it really wasn't clear that I was running up such enormous shipping costs. I asked the seller to lower the cost and the $113 is actually the reduced cost, from $131. Have I been scammed or are these reasonable costs? I have had plenty of stuff shipped from China (not through ebay, but privately) and have never run into such outrageous shipping costs. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.     Yes Ines they could have gotten hurt much worse, he was high on the ladder and kinda fell on her and she was the hurt one. He did not even get hurt. and at that time he was in his early 70's and she was in her mid 60's They were too old to be triming the trees like that!

    Oh and Unfortunatly DH's wonderful parents are just in our hearts and memories. The only parent we have left is my mom.

    Ines DFIL was sawing the end of a limb off of the branch he had the ladder against... He was getting old and should not have been doing it at all... He did not think ahead what will happen to he branch when he takes the weight off the end! Then DMIL was left holding him in the air leaning on NOTHING!! and fell with him!     You do not even have an item for sale.
    Your expensive item ended without a bid.
    You should NOT be communicating with anyone about selling it !

    Someone offered to buy my item but instead of paying through paypal, he requested to be paid through this escrow service company at www.etrading-online.com and insisted that he felt more comfortable making huge payment through that website.

    I just wish to ask if any of you have experience with the company and whether it is safer than paypal or as safe as paypal?

    Because i've never receive payment from that company im clueless about it.

    Im so afraid that when the status changed from pending to verified, i shipped my item out,the seller could back out by withdrawing the funds or claim non receipent.

    Would appreciate your help in clearing my doubts.

    Ines: My weather; it's getting closer to the winter; the threes have left their leaf, the ground are frozen and the temperature is just below zero. But at home we don't have any snow yet, coz we live close to the fjord. At the cabin in sweden we have some snow; the children went on skies there for almost one month ago :-)

    Hi all,
    I think everyone got more rain than me. We got lots of rain in the night but as the storm came in it must have came about 20 miles from us and took a turn east. Just before it got here everything stopped. #1 son is in Atlanta and it was much worst there. Thanks for thinking of us. We do have clean yards now as we spent all day making sure everything was up. All that is left is to untie all the patio furniture.

    Ines,debbie, back is feeling better today..must be your thinking of me and a muscle relaxer last nite.

    Girlfriend and I were going to go shopping but a carpenter that they had contacted in summer called to say he would be there today to fix ? so we met and ate at local restaurant and talked ...and then didnt do a thing all afternoon.

    Nice day here too in 70's..too bad the prettyleaves are gone off the trees..would have been a great day to ride around and see some...Got it still in lower back so only thing I did today was a little wash and put beefroast in crock pot and cooked it and at 6pm..late for me to eat but oh well didnt eat the other 2 meals so guess ok..

    Good Evening Everyone....
    It felt like a nice warm spring/summer day here today as it was in the 70s F !! I had a few of my windows were open !

    Ines - I hope you have not overdone it today! You sounded like you was in a hurry!! Did you go to estate sales today?

    Deb - Well we lowered our price today and set up an Open house, there is a rebate thing going on right now from the gov. like a 6K gov. tax credit just passed recently for folks purchasing a home! Even if you have owned one before!! I hope that gets something happening!!

    We had a wonderful time this evening and tonight,,, Hubby's sis and their cousin and her hubby met us at a nice Italian restaurant here in our town, then they followed us home and we has desert and coffee and played a game of Yahtzee!! They had to start back home at 8pm as cousin had to work tomorrow morning... She works in the deli at Wally-World, goes in a 6am!! Sheesh I can't imagine being at work at that hour in the morning!

    Well I hope your all having a great weekend so far!!
    We need to vacuum the pool tomorrow and may do something special not sure yet!

    Now the curser is moving again and there for while it wasnt..hmmmmm...I live in Iowa...Love cats but own only 1 at a time so get attention when she wants and dont have to fight with other cat for food...some cats are pigs when come to eating..
    Ines: Got the foam trimmed and now waiting for cuz kid to be able to come and do the trim on door inside and outside the door...Hope he dont have to break the plaster off to do the hammering or it breaks when he hammers or screws the trim in...Just hope he can do it next weekend and weather is nice like this weekend but not gonna hold breath..My chore of the day was doing the foam in and washing clothes. Jobs are all done...

    Ines: is it the storm doors with windows in? I am waiting now for cousin to do the trim around the door ...dont know when tho...Today I got the foam stuff on the other side of door on the inside gap and had quite a few places come out and had to wait for it to harden and then cut it off..Old houses are such fun!!
