Hi Fran.....I found the word I was looking for - "feathering". When I first starting selling on eBay I sold some Monax American Sweetheart plates that had teeny cracks on the edges. I went to great lengths to describe the cracks and was surprised at how much I got for what I thought were damaged plates. The buyer informed me that the feathering is common to these particular plates. I was just wondering if other depression plates besides the Monax are subject to feathering. Fran

Hi everyone....Is there a proper name or term used to describe the tiny cracks that are sometimes found on the edges of depression glass plates and are these common to depression glass.

Carma - Amazing auction, I hadn't even seen it - hopefully that seller got a great offer. Nice photo work, by the way!

Since I can't search, I may as well see if an art glassie knows anything about this piece. Somebody told me "fused glass" but I don't know - the fused glass pieces I've seen have more definition where the pieces are fused together.

This piece is nearly weightless, it's so fragile and thin....and there's a definite pontil mark on the bottom.

Anyone?

julie: The last photo is one of my favorites too. She actually didn't know I took that one. It was the first warm, sunny day we had during her visit & we were between shots. She had just taken off her jacket, tossed it aside, kind of tossed her head back a bit & commented something to the effect of, "That Sun is so nice & warm"......and I snapped it.

enchantmentglass: There was a lot of talk in Carnival circles about that listing. The seller ended it early. Probably got a private sale offer he couldn't refuse. That often happens on very high end Ebay Carnival listings. Value on that Plate is in the $25,000. range.

I'm checking out some tumblers made by Cambridge ca. 1930s... the color is pink. Now did Cambridge call pink Pink or did Cambridge call its pink Peach Blo? Which do I use in the description? Would using Peach Blo, in addition to using pink, be accurate?

sunwoman3663: Yes, it has happened many times in the past. Not as much the last few years as it once did, but still happens. The worst one was about 10 years ago. The entire Ebay site TOTALLY crashed and was off-line for 4-5 days. That one was a real nightmare for sellers.

itsagas: Yup, just found that out myself. Tried to browse a couple different categories & got the "we are unable to complete your search results request at this time" message.

gabla: Not only a bit easier on the computer, but a lot less costly too. I remember doing layered shots in the darkroom & that could be frustrating & expensive. You had to sandwich the negatives just right, then actually make a print to see the results. If it wasn't right, you had to do it all over again....and again.....and again. Printing paper & chemicals were expensive to waste on failed attempts.

Well, so far I got to McD's in time for an egg biscuit, mailed a package at the PO, made an exchange (angel food cake pan) at WalMart, made a fabulous haul dumpster diving, spent 30 minutes cutting up gigantic strips of bubble wrap, hauled in more styrofoam, vacuumed, sorted laundry, listed an item, located an ID on another item...and during all this time the sun came out and it's now blue sky with lovely white clouds. Going to go prune my rose bush. What a beautiful day!

gabla: I got creative with that first one. It's actually layered & screened with another photo of frost covered fir trees. Thought it would look nice with her fur-collared jacket.

She got to see some snow while she was here. The night I picked her up from the airport, we drove the last 40 miles home in snow. Only got about an inch & she did manage to pelt me with one snowball when I was getting her luggage out of the Jeep. Of course, she then ran in the house so that I couldn't retaliate. LOL! By the time she got up next morning the snow was melted, so we didn't get to do any photos of her in the snow like she wanted. So, that layered photo will have to do.

Mahnin'All: The USGS said in this morning's newspaper that the earthquake we had the other night was epicentered directly under Farmer's Hill. Our house sits right at the base of Farmer's Hill! No wonder it was such a strong jolt, but thankfully we had no damage from it.

Casandra's portfolio CD and album are finished. She is SO anxious to see them that I didn't have the heart to make her wait until Christmas, so they are already on the way to her. Seeing as how she said it was okay to post some of her photos here, here's a few samples.

Lucy, all prepackaged food has a salt issue. Otherwise it would go bad. The best I've found is some stuff at Trader Joe's... do you have that chain? There are some ready-made shrimp or chicken dishes that don't seem to be so high-sodium at TJ's. However, if they have veggies in them I throw those out and steam some broccoli. Can't handle frozen veggies.

Dolores - wish I had been at the Antique Show. sounds like a blast - even for window shopping.

Gail - A rainy day froggy for you, too? so far just heavy clouds on Cape Cod and we're hoping for no rain but that's just silly.

BB&G - You're smart to play the display to your audience. We went to the Inauguration in January which was the coldest day ever and we stood for hours in the throngs trying to get to our ticketed seats (we did not get into them, but we could SEE them!) Anyway, this young couple were selling those little packs you put in your gloves or boots to keep them warm. $5/pair but you can buy them for less than 1/2 that if you were smart and thought ahead. Anyway, they each had a trash bagful and sold ALL OF THEM by 2 PM. So smart!

I must go for a walk now, quickly, before the rains have their way with us!

Next year I will take pictures at the Antique Show. I was just amazed at everything. I didn't buy anything. The prices were generally very high except for a sterling service for 12 that was only $3900. There were mink coats for sale. I have been afraid to wear my stole since Bejonce's bad experience with fur. I saw a jadite cup for $35. There was a gorgeous diamond tennis bracelet that looked very old. The only purchases I witnessed were a man buying a pottery vase and a woman buying a postcard. Lots of lookie lous.

Just about bedtime. I'm with you Lucy.. cool whip gives me an awful taste at the back of my throat. I'm sure my pure whipped cream with sugar and vanilla has many more calories so I tend to use less. I didn't put the whole cup on my cocoa tonight as I had threatened!
I have a hard time with anything not 'real'. Like artificial sugar, margerine, packaged foods. It would be easier to eat out of a can or box but my tummy can't handle it.
I am tired ... time for bed!

itsagas Very true about May being all of those things. But one would think that if ever tourism was going to bring buyers the 500 would do it.

w*i*h*n*/Julie One year I gussied my entire booth up with Indy 500 stuff---- very collectible programs, ticket stubbs, sets of collector glasses, 5 driver uniforms with driver signatures all over them, and all other 500 stuff. No sales to speak of in May. I sold the uniforms here on eBay. And did very well on them. Word got around from collector to collector that there was a large stash of programs and tickets at SAM. Eventually all of the programs and ticket stubs sold at the mall.

beads!books!glitter! That is So true. We were set up in a gorgeous little historic town, that was very popular @ weekends for the city slickers to come visit. We used to do OK there.
But when the town had special festivals happening, eg Jazz Festival or Elvis Birthday Festival, even though the crowds were huge, they were not there for Antiques and Colectables, they were there for the music or whatever it was that was happening.
All the cafes/ restaurants, pubs and giftie nicky nack shops would do well. but We didn't. Our shop was packed with ppl, but the majority, not being collectors, were just browsing. We did however , used to try to save special items, that fell into the themes of the festivals, for those times. eg Jazz Festival, Any musical instruments, usually vintage, we found during the year would be put away for then.
So it is always good to think ahead and know events are happening and save apprpiate items for then

BBG:

May has always been the worst month in the antique business in the midwest in my experience. Reasons - school, especially college, letting out, getting ready for summer weddings, getting lakeshore cabins started up, spring chores, getting gardens started, a just in general summer's almost here, let's get outside and have fun.

susu46 / Susan. the mall that I was last in was Southport Antique Mall . It is about a mile west of I65 and 2 miles south of the interstate that circles Indianapolis. A showcase that is 6 ft. by 4 ft by 18 in. rents for $75 per month with commission depending on price of item sold. 10% on items up to $19.99. 5% for items $2.00 up. And I believe 50% on $2.00 or less. Floor space is $1.75 per square foot. Commissions the same as on cases.

Southport is now taking items on consignment. I think the commison rate is 30% . The consignment contract time is 90 days with a reduction in price every 30 days. I was told that they are making more money off consignment items than off the show cases or floor space.

You mentioned Peoria. Are you in Peoria, Illinois? Passed through there on I74 dozens of times on our way from the Quad City area to Indianapolis.

Another comment---- May, the big month for tourism in Indy, is the absolute worst month for the antique malls. After 12 years of observation from 4 showcases and 2 of the best located spaces in the mall, I really believe that sports and conventions bring very little business to antique malls.

Julie... I made a trifle for someone's birthday: chunks of yellow and chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, whole fresh strawberries, sliced banana, sliced fresh peaches and lots of whipped creme. It's fun to make things that are supposed to look messy - no worries about perfection. Soon after my daughter-in-law made one with several flavors of Jello (is that the same as what you're talking about? Fruit flavored gelatin?) and Cool Whip and a really nasty rum cake. We all hated it and it became the instigating factor in a food fight. SO much fun and it was outside so no big deal on the cleanup. We jumped in the kiddie pool one by one to clean off! She hated it too, fortunately, so joined right in to the madness.

I must have snack now so not hopping in bed immediately after stuffing my face.

Julie,
That's the sorriest mess I've every heard of! Although I did once dunk stale gingerbread into my coffee laced with Grand Marnier and whipped cream.

Gail,
You go right ahead and enjoy yourself and your fattening recipes. I would have to switch Cool Whip for real and cooked pudding for instant but it sounds like something I could fall in love with.
When my son was little he watched me make chocolate pudding on the stove but couldn't see into the pot, of course. He was dying of impatience when he asked me "Did it pud yet, Mommy?" It has become common phraseology in my silly family.

Going for the cocoa, etc. now!

LOL Don
I remember here when someone asked me to make up a cocktail drink LOL I called it a Galah (I think). It went something like this
Creme de cacao (amount to taste)
brandy (amount to desired taste)
cup of fresh cream (or milk if it's too much for you)
grated nutmeg
ice
Tim Tams

Place all the ingredients excpet Tim Tams & nutmeg in the shaker and shake, shake shake. Poor into a nice glass sprinkle with grated nutmeg. Take Tim Tam and bite a small section from one corner one end. Then diagonally across to the other end, bite another small section. Place one biten end in the drink and the other in your mouth. suck the drink up through the Tim Tam , be very careful how long you do this. The trick is to sip enough of the drink like this and when the Tim Tam is feeling soggy, best to eat it, before it falls apart in your lap. LOL
In winter I , on a rare accassions, do treat myself to Tim Tams and Coffee this way. BUt its been a while since I have. Can be vert messy LOL. Tim Tams are Good with just plain milk too

Gail don't throw the cake out. Down here we make a triffle out of either stale cake or badly cooked ones :)
break up the cake & Soak in some Sherry, place in the bottom of a master bowl,Prepare separetley some different coloured jellies,( what do you call it?) when set scoop out and place on top of the soaked cake. Then top off with fresh whipped cream and crushed nut. sometimes I do 2 layers of the cake and jelly then add the cream and nuts.

cjholidays I think there are a number of different chemicals that is being used today to make yellow glass. And some do make the item glow that red/ orange glow under a BL. I think Selenium is one chemical or maybe that is cerium , or maybe both. Mike is very good with knowledge of chemiclas used to make coloured glass.
HOpefully he can enlighten you a little better then my poor effort.

LOL@GAIL--been there-done that same thing, But got me an older pan with 3 metal feet to stand up on it when turning cake upside down. LOL. But we now believe that the new invention being store boguht. I cut in 1/2 hollow out tunnet in bottom 1/2,and fill with chocolate whip cream add to top and bottom-takes about 2 big full cups of cream to ice but far better than just icing. As you get on in years--(violins playing in background) like some of me-haha you learn hard way and easy ways out of the kitchen. LOL- I hate cooking. I hate rinsing dishes to put in d.washer. I just don't care being a housefrau doing chores. Will let Pa and DD do some as I age onward & upward. LOL

Gail/oklahomasong Sorry about the cake. Had to laugh about the lack of a pop bottle. I had almost forgotten that is how you cool an angel food cake. I have the pan, but haven't made one in years. The local antique center has pop bottles for sale. You might want to look for one next time you check one of your mall spots. Will have to find stock that I think will sell (and make enough to cover rent) before I actually rent space. Right now, I am just investigating my options. I tend to think a long time before acting.

Lucy,
Problem solved! Oldest daughter arrives @ noon tomorrow to take off dressing, put on waterproof dressing, then after he showers she'll put bandaids on, keeping sutures covered. Thank gawdamighty because I was feeling terrible for being such a squash head. She's phlebotomist and would love to go to nursing school. All her course work (3 yrs)was leading to accounting degree so would be starting from square one. All in time.
Thanks for the offer, though! Would have been fun!

Gail G2M re your cake.
I do have the air con in the room here where I sit at the computer and my bedroom runs directly off that. But it was no match for yesterdays brutal heat.I had the house all locked up and every door to every room shut, to help the air con cope with just cooling this space. I also have shadeclothe blinds on the verandah I pulled down. for added shade to the house. Not to mention!! I had to go out in it, That was no fun I can tell you. A friend phoned and said the temp in their backyard was reading 46Celsius. thud
And I should be whinging at least I am not the poor buggers out there , resurfacing our road, these past 3 days
Late yesterday arvo we had a spectacular sky show, Lots of chain lightening, which was nice to watch till it started to get closer. Had a bit of a downpour too which cooled things down a bit, but just not enough.

Lucy sounds very tempting

Well, I spent all afternoon going to WalMart to buy an angel food cake pan, then baking the cake and making a double-boiler icing. Turned out terrible. THe cake glued itself to the pan, who has a pop bottle anymore to invert the pan on...a wine bottle was too large at the opening. The pan is still soaking and making no progress. THe outside of the cake is tough, scorched and rubbery. Next pot luck we have, I think I'll just stick to taking a package of Oreos or Tootsie Rolls...my usual fare.

dolores1953 ... hope you have lots of fun today and I look forward to hearing all about it.

Susu ... I rented a glass case at a mall that has since closed...it was not a locked case though. $65 a month/10% commission.

glass*usa ... sorry, don't know your parfaits.

Dave ... Hi, good to see you post so we know you still know your way here and aren't totally lost.

Julie ... why don't you move your tv and your computer and your bed all into the room where you have an air conditioner. I'd never try to make it through the summer without an air conditioner unless I had absolutely no choice.

George ... I looked at all your items and sorry that I couldn't be of any help.

Gail, going to church and pot luck but not certain if the cake is going with me....

Hola Glassarinos y Glassarinas!
(I had Mexican for lunch!)
Thanks for all the hugs and good thoughts coming at me! It's helping. Also, I've only told 6 people outside of the chat and my youngest daughter. 4 of them have had benign biopsies. That helps to know, too! And so many of you have had the same and then there are the BC survivors with lots of inspiration. Good to know you're in a crowded boat.
The Rickster took off that ice pack gizmo today. It's called 'the iceman' and the padding around the 'boo boo' is attached to a tube that goes to a box of ice which circulates cold air through the padding on the affected area. Wild. THis crazy padded strapping has covered everything thus far. So now there's about a 12" square of gauze wrapped around the shoulder, held down by plastic tape completely sealing it. Instructions say it comes off today and he can't do it all himself. (gulp!) I dare say I can't help him as I am the biggest chicken on the planet with the weakest stomach. I think I have to ask my poor neighbor to help him. GUILT! GUILT! GUILT!
I'll go stew on this dilemma.

Thanks to all for the mall info This is the Antique Center which is downtown where it gets traffic from anyone interested who is in town for other reasons. It is near the river front where festivals take place and just a few blocks from the Civic Center where touring performances, conventions and sporting events like the State High School Basketball Tournament happen. If there is anything going on to bring folks here from out of town the Antique Center is within walking distance of what ever it is. When it first opened several years ago it covered 2 floors in an old warehouse. They have downsized with the fall off in demand to half of the original 1st floor. The 2nd floor is now business offices and the 3rd & 4th are downtown loft apartments. Not sure if the tall cases are 30" or 36", but big enough. The fact that the cases are locked (requires an employee with a key to look at something close) and NO commission sounds good to me. Now, if only I could find something worth enough to make the rent. LOL Good finds are few and far between in these parts. Thanks again for all the input.

jrm*rock--Jesse--The tray for #1095 is totally different. It has more "flats" on the base to begin with. It's part of the Decagon pattern, even though it has 8 flat sides around each side of the base. The handle might LOOK the same in the catalog page but it's not. It has the Art Deco "lightning bolts" on the side of the handle, same as the cream & sug. Also, If you look at your tray on the chatabout site, they specifically point out the way the top of the handle "slumps" in the middle. The middle of the handle is the highest point on the Decagon tray--Bob

Susu--The going rate here is about $80/mo for a 3 ft wide case, usually about 5% commission.

susu46: That seems like a very good price, much cheaper than in Maine too. Up here, one mall offers a 6 ft. tall case, but only 18" wide for $60. a month. But, that's only if you contract a minimum of 1 year & pay the whole years rent in advance. Otherwise, it's $80. a month. Most malls average from $80.-$120. a month for case as large as you describe. Most open booths, from 6-8' wide, average $150-$200. a month, some higher.

susu46 / Susan... that sounds like a good deal to me... I pay $45 a month in Arkansas for this:

susu It is a good amount cheaper than out here. I don't look at Thursday sales as being the criteria. I've 2 weeks without a sale and then have a bunch. I think the malls general rep and overall traffic are more important. JMHO.

Good Afternoon All Dropped into the local antique mall yesterday. Asked about booth costs and wondered how this one stacks up with others around the country. A 36" wide, 6' tall locked glass case is $68/mth & no commission on sales. Full booths were just totally out of my comfort zone. Is this reasonable, too high, too low? I don't know what sales are as in the 45 minutes I was there I didn't see any purchases.

Good Mornin Aftynoon &c where ever you are
lots of good info here as always
I look for the "Rep Button" (as in Reputation) so I can give some rep points to folks answering questions correctly. Then they can trade them in for selling credits or pennies off paypal purchases or something.

Fran, looked at the page of messy HTML u sent, been busy as an adagy in a colloquialism lately. It'd be faster to remake whatever you want to show folks in the listing. Make a table, set it to 700px wide, clear borders, too much 'span style' and other 'forbidden ordinary code' for the little biddy widdy ePay machine to handle. Yuo mite inadvertently cause a systemwide blackout even trying. But I'm sure they have a'plenty of duct tape onhand to remedy.

Why can't u just put a link in the listing to the CW LAL page? You're aloud to have a link in your listing to an off-ebay-site that is non commercial but gives more info on the product you're pushing. hth, and howdies friends. Cheers & warm regards dp

Good Morning Glass Board... Another cold morning here in Arkansas, 45 and suppose to get up to 63 today... Yesterday afternoon was absolutely beautiful here, sunny, and about 65 degrees.

glass*usa / Bob... Yes that is the one... Do you know if this "same" tray was used for the 1095 and 1096 Sugar and Creamer Sets as well??? I posted over on the Chatabout site, and someone suggested that it was, however when I look in my catalog book at the 1095 and 1096 the tray appears to be totally different in shape. The handle looks correct but the tray is different IMHO.

gabla / George... Looked at all of your items, but nothing I could help with.

irenecav / Irene... I've lived in LR since 2001 and in AR since 1996. I love it here, except for August when the weather is usually unbearable... This year was the mildest summer we have had since I moved here.

beads!books!glitter! / Helen... I'm glad that you enjoy my items that I post... The tray is coming out of my personal collection, time to clear out some stuff and make room for some new...

enchantmentglass / Kelli... DDG Liqueur set!!! I want to go shopping with you someday... I wish our thrifts had some decent items, but most only have modern "trash" here... LOL

donscns / Don... ROFLMAO at your post @ Nov-20-09 at 04:55:30 PST... Don't hold back, just tell them how it is... LOL...

Well finished my scroll, now to take care of some real "job" issues then back to researching and cleaning out the curios, and shelves... TTYL, Jesse

George That hon has been done by the usual suspects, mostly over the big pond. Two reasons. It is an ugly blue and shiny. Also, the individual previously discussed has a cellar full of molds , some marked, some unmarked, which he uses indiscriminately, and frequently, with some glass houses that are still in business. Some are marked, some not.Grown men argue over them, and some get pink slapped trying to help..although I don't know what E-Bay or the perpetrator has against that innocuous little company. LOL I would not attempt to identify the maker. Do you shoot skeet? Off to the glass show in Harrisburg PA.

Several things I need some help with.
1. Girl with Fan goblet. Unitt shows this goblet with two different stems and opins that the straight stem, this one, may have been produce. Jenks et al concurs and says about 1960 maybe but no thoughts as to who. Same for Metz. It does not appear in the Wright books I have.
http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/ga/gabla/girlf1.jpg
2. Cranberry opalescent swirl tumbler 5 3/8” tall by 2 ¾ in diameter. It doesn’t feel right shape wise for old ie circa 1900. Wright sold an ice tea that looks like this and two shapes are pictured in the WVMAG publication page 49. Is this the ice tea and who dunit.

3. Who did this Shield and Anchor goblet and when? Metz and Unitts show it without a maker or date.
http://imagehost.vendio.com/preview/ga/gabla/anchor1.jpg
4. Mordock & Adams speculate that this Independence Hall mug was made by Boston & Sandwich. Does any know for sure?

Lucy, just yesterday I found these little juice glasses (or wines, I guess) with rigaree. A little girl in line at the thrift shop told me "they look like they're wearing little skirts". They do!

http://www.enchantmentglass.com/rigwines1.jpg
http://www.enchantmentglass.com/rigwines3.jpg

Also found a really pretty Liqueur set, with gobs of sterling overlay, at the same thrift. I'm assuming this is Italian, because of the scene of Venice on the front of the decanter?

Jesse--It's Cambridge, but it's #620: http://clicksnipwow.com/chataboutdg/img9400.search.htm Cambridge pieces were often cataloged 2 or even 3 different ways, but I don't think that ever belonged to the 3400 Line, which had fancy curlique handles--Bob

Lucy ... you're asking the wrong person as I'm still in glassie pre-school. I think rigaree/riggerie/????? rigamajig is when it's all ruffledy like but applied ONTO the item...not a molded part of the item. But actually we will have to wait for the Glassies with the capital 'G'.

oklahomasong--Gail--I believe your bowl is the bottom of this LG Wright fairy lamp. http://cgi.ebay.com/FENTON-Embossed-Rose-Fairy-Light-Lamp-LG-WRIGHT-FENTON_W0QQitemZ200399674569QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2ea8c05cc9 The one in the auction is missing a piece, as is the other one I find in completeds. There's a clear crystal ring that sits in the base, the shade fits on that ring. I know your piece doesn't seem like anything could sit on top of it, but that's what the ring is for. The shade will sit on the base without that ring, but will not fit well at all--Bob

Thanks for all the good thoughts. I just went food shopping to take mind off it and now it's put away, hubby settled in with a shoot 'em up movie and I'm wanting not to be idle. Got a cute little longaberger vase and a portuguese bowl at a thrift shop while Rick was in surgery. (another bit of busy work!) For the life of me I can think of a word to describe this bowl except 'nice bowl with hearts cut out' which sounds vicious. Anyone have a one-liner for me? I won't find the exact thing listed. (especially since I don't know how to describe it!) Apparently my language skills are taking a rest. 7 1/2" wide, 4 1/2" deep. Fruit bowl?
Thanks,
Janice

Got this sweet little bowl, 2 3/4"h X 5"d, that has some glowee to it...not terribly strong, but still definitely has some uranium content. It's a 4-part mold which kind of surprised me because I don't often see that. It's a sturdy little bowl, very nice and clear and very smooth, but substantial, not delicate. Thanks for looking.

Good morning, glassies. Just finished vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and mirror/window cleaning. House looks fairly tidy for now.

Janice ... keep in mind that we have at least 2 lovely ladies here on the Chat that I know of who now have their BC treatments behind them and are doing so very well. Take heart. Will certainly keep you in my prayers.

Going to try to get some Christmas lights strung outdoors. I won't light them up yet, but I think I'd like to take care of it while I have a lot of sunshine the next couple of days and some reasonable temps. We did get our first freeze last night, but it should still hit 60 today.

Hello, Glassies! I haven't been posting much - lots of negativity going on and yesterday was told after mammogram & ultrasound that I need a biopsy. Tuesday a.m. which is quite fast so I'm terrified. Usually it's a couple of weeks before they can accomodate.
So husband is on dilaudid as he recuperates from shoulder surgery; my daughter's family is in crisis and I might have BC. What else?
Maybe I'll get busy listing to move my mind away from it all. Usually I would share this with oldest daughter but she would flip out. Doesn't need the added worry. Youngest daughter is trying to handle older sister's issues with her and now knows about this so is a bit burdened.
So here I am dumping on you kind people, knowing the power of positive thinkers. And now it's time for tea.

Morning all y'all
Well yesterday and also today are a bust for what I need to do. Trey(DS) called yesterday, with a help. He's moving and has to be out by tomorrow, and just didn't know where to sstart even though he has been packing boxes for weeks. So Mom to the rescue. It took me less than 2 hours to get it organized, and then it was just a matter of going to the local corner employment office to pick up some temp labor to put stuff in trucks and trailor. So this morning I have to pick up the temp labor at 9 am and get it done again today. But will have him moved by late tonight. Boy what a pain in the A** Hopefully tomorrow I can go back to my ebay listing and taking pics. And now totally not related to glass.

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING VERY COOL

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one! It is FREE and it only takes a second. Well 10 seconds, and I figured y'all should know of this site, especially during the holiday season, so forgive the non glass post.

Fran, your book looks amazing, would you please figure out postage to 77079 and send me an invoice for your book? And love your exercising froggie this morning.

I'll be back later, maybe, depending on how the move goes.
Big breakfast this morning cause of all the manuel labor I have to do today. Eggs, over easy, bacon and TExas Toast.
Have a great day now, ya hear.

Mahnin'All: We were awakened at 2AM by a tremendous jolt that sounded like an explosion. At first, I thought perhaps a large tree had come down nearby. Got up & put the outside lights on, but couldn't see anything. At 2:05, there was a second, smaller jolt. Then I knew. We had an earthquake. Sure enough, checked with USGS online & there was a 2.5 quake here at exactly 2AM. Guess where the epicenter was? Listed as 14 miles WNW of Rumford, Maine. That puts it almost EXACTLY, directly under my house! No wonder for a 2.5 magnitude that it felt so strong. Waiting now for daylight to go outside & check around the house foundation for any damage. Doubt there will be any, but I'll check anyway.

That Kodak 3250 printer is amazing. In working on Casandra's portfolio album, I printed out, in fabulous quality, the following: 16-8x10's, 22-5x7's and 42-4x6 prints.......all on ONE cartridge!! Just put in a new cartridge yesterday. Cost $14.47. While I was at the store, I checked the price of the cartridge for my old Lexmark.....$38.87 now! And I couldn't have even printed out the 16-8x10's on that without running out of ink.

If you're looking to buy a new printer/scanner/copier combo, I would heartily endorse the Kodak 3250. For $99., it's a fabulous value.
