HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all, your family and friends.

Need to read the board, and see what is going on.

Allie, how nice to be home with the CA. family.

Cedar, I also have a new camera. I will have to give it a try now, posting to boards. Can't get it to work for e-mail. To many other things going on right now.

We were going to have a big dinner for Thanksgiving tomorrow but now it's going to be a celebration for Cedar! LOL (Pez, I have the Kool & the Gang song "Celebration" going through my head but can't find the lyrics.)

In case I don't get back here, best wishes to all for a Happy Thanksgiving, I hope you enjoy it whether alone, with friends & relatives, or enjoying it out at EATS (with Jsan).

Hugs to all my buds,
Judy

The original PEZ material had fanciful pictures of dispensers on it. The pictures were not accurate, just fun. The fleece, I think, illustrates the candy and the PEZ logo, I believe. As Hancock Fabrics was the original seller, and there are none around me, I never really looked into it. You might want to Google. :D

Good morning all! Got a long 4 days ahead of me with lots of kids in and out, but I knew this years ago when I had all those kids! I have to take my old dog in today and not bring her home. I hate this. She was my husbands dog and I just can not stand to see her suffer anymore. She has poor little Daisy terrified and I know it is the dog communication thing. Many years ago she killed my little poodle because it ran to the door to meet me. I digress.

I guess Thanksgiving is upon me whether I like it or not. Just remembered to get Tom out last night! Gonna sink him in some water after bit and warm him up a bit.

See I have 50% listings on ebay today only so I know what I will be doing today. Have a daughter coming from Kansas this morning and leaving about noon, Lyn is coming to clean and Sam and Allan will be here later today for 4 days. Then Patty will be back on Friday along with her husband, daughter, son in law (or whatever he is) and the 2 great grandsons that are undisciplined heathens. Course step kids are in and out all the time. I seek solitude!!!

Better get with it. Have to have Polly at the vet at 7:30. Have a good day!!!

GOOG EVENING EVERYONE!....Had a sunny warm 77 day here in S. CA. I got back into the routine today of cleaning the horsie doo-doo each morning. Been workin the vacuum till it's tahrd and many more days ahead of that. Wishin we could get a maid service to help, but not in the budget. TOMKAT says the spiderwebs are just leftover from Halloween. HA!

Lil CHLOE spent a few hours up here with me today. We had a goog time being silly and dancing, even tho she had to entertain herself at times when I was cleaning. She got taller while I was in WI. What a charming, adorable granddaughter I have! (noprejudicehere;) THREE adorable g-girls here actually. : )

Gotta get the turkey tomorrow and other food stuffs. Shoulda gone tonight, but my bones weren't walkin toward the door very fast. LOL! And right now they are telling me to crawl them into bed. So mebbe I'll catch yawl tomorrow. Sleep well sweet peeps! : )

I think I will shoot in HobbY Lobby. They might have the fleece. If not I can buy the cotton and put batting and muslin on the back and quilt that up. Should work. Course at the rate I am moving the pez I seen will be all gone.

Made my pink baby blanket and had to take it apart and put it back together because I did it wrong. I don't sew much and I see I am getting rusty at it. Have a quilt to do tonight. Have 60 threads measured for my next blanket. Will make 2 next time. I only need 900 more!

It is a bit nippy tonight. Supposed to warm up tomorrow. Bret brought his laundry up this morning so guess what I get to do???!!!! I think I will teach him the fine art of the washing machine. Pretty sure his girlfriend is not familiar with that piece of equipment.

I guess I will go make some supper. I forgot to eat today cause I was very busy downstairs where the sewing machines lurk!

I have a couple pajama pants that are PEZ fabric. The bibs I mentioned were infant bibs, made of the newer PEZ fleece. The fleece tends to be a lot more expensive than the older cotton fabric.

HI---All I get done is visiting the sick and going to funerals...Take my word for this...Anything past 80 is not a lot of fun!!!!But for some reason we keep going...

Haven't heard from the Tooth Dr. yet. I plan to call today. We were told it might be a week before we hear and that we could call and find out what is happening...He is not in big pain...Just agaravates him and he is sometimes very short with answering me...

Gloomy every day here...I think we will be getting rain turning to snow tomorrow...Nice for those that have to travel for Big Turkey Day...Mark and Lesley left for Mayo yesterday and should be back late tonite....Hope she gets some good news on the healing process of the tendon...She still won't be able to bear any weight on it for awhile...Then she will get a walking cast...She's a bit short and crabby too...Making it hard for Mark who does all the cooking, cleaning and taking care of most details...I would like to tell her what I think but that would never do. She e mails other blabby relatives about him...RATZ....Their daughter made many really nice meals for them and brought them here to put in the freezer. I have sent up a few things now and then...So they are ok with food. Mark is an excellent cook.

Have to go to town this afternoon...So I better get a few things done around here...

JAN---as for my coat really it isn't much. I have better looking coats than this one. But it is a pretty blue...Of course neither Lesley or I liked the buttons...I found some hand crafted ones on e bay. I sent for two as samples...The first on arrived. Beautiful but much too large. Lesley thinks we should keep it and put it on something to wear around the neck because we both use that color...I think I will tell her I returned it and then keep it for her to give to her when she has a bad, down day...The smaller one hasn't arrived yet.

In the meantime I took the buttons off and painted them...They look great now...I used a pen paint thing that was supposed for be for children to paint with and it wouldn't drip...Found out also that it doesn't dry....When I was sewing the buttons on my fingers got all blue....Boy don't I have fun??? Off to do something...SBIT Doris

Dan: The PEZ material I seen was cotton. I didn't see the PEZ fleece. I think it was $4.89 a yard. Think I may get a yard and make some "do rags". Used to make them with Harley stuff. I could make those things like they have on Survivor. Those seem to be pretty versitile.

Jan:Well, I really do have a ton of jewelry. I am going to take pictures of this mess I have here and then post it on my blog so the whole world will see that I have definitely gone crazey!

Doris2; If you think I wear you out, what do you think I am doing to myself? I will be like the wonderful one horse shay and just fall all to pieces someday.

Got a pretty little pink and lite green baby blanket done today for Chris's soon to be baby. He works at Sonic and they live with his folks. Those two have a rude awakening on the horizon, I'm a thinking! Sometimes I am glad I am old! Been glad of that a lot here lately.

Off to see the sandman. Hugs to all. LOU

Allie: I'll bet being back in your own bed is grand! Don't remember when you left, but seems like a long time! And it sounds like MOM is in good hands, great!

Change of plans here....we're staying home for Thanksgiving, turkey and fixin's are all here and accounted for. We'll probably have 2 or 3 friends, and if we find any strays they'll be welcomed too. Always room for 1 or 2 more. I like to cook the Thanksgiving menu, it's always the same, and after all these years, well, you know!

Jsan: Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite places. Good for you! Kids always say we could get to Atlanta much quicker if we didn't dawdle at all the CB's along the way.

Lou: You absolutely wear me out with all your projects! Cedar, you are mighty busy too! If I don't get back, Happy Thanksgiving to All! Doris Two

MD, seriously, I am glad when these teams that have awful records win (although I'd rather they didn't shame my team...LOL). I wanted Ruthie's Browns to win so badly, and they almost did - and who would ever guess they would get beat with zero time left on the clock? It's a game I love to hate. I'm so glad none of these guys like Nascar. Whew. That's the glory of picking out all your sons BEFORE you get married. ;p

Cedar, when you have your photo on photobucket, just highlight it with your cursor/mouse, and then copy it, and be sure you get every little letter or symbol on there, then paste it on the board and it'll work. Trust me, if I can figure it out, you can. I have to admit I giggled when I typed the 'jingle to cedar'.

I'm in a holding pattern because the stuff I need for the next tree is in a place I can't reach. Kisa is a neat-freak and puts all my stuff away (we have a big space for it in the basement where he built racks for stuff). I have a tag on every box so I know what's in it. However, he puts the boxes away without the tagged front showing. I know everything I have, believe it or not.

Judy:  I was glued to the last NASCAR race Sunday. My younger brother who lives in Olathe KS has to be a Chiefs fan and told me about it. He says it's hard to cheer for one of the worst teams in football. I understand because I'm a cubs fan. LoL I've always been a Vikings fan and an anti-fan of any team that has beat the Vikings in a super bowl, including the Chiefs in 69. It's going to be a long dry spell until Febuary when racing starts at Daytona. I don't suppose Connie will invite me down. I guess I do have a couple of videos of the races at Kansas the last two years that "Mini Me" went to.

ROFLLH, MD, in the 10 years I've been posting here, this is the first time you've cheered for the Chiefs. I see you slyly waited until the game was over before you lent your support. LOL

OMG, Jan, we have had grandson and I haven't been able to work on the trees. I'm afraid if y'all want to see pictures you are going to see last years repeats. I am working on them but have to stop again, we are having dinner here Thursday. You and Bill are welcome to come, seriously, I will have plenty and you can meet all the kin you've heard about. (Scary thought, huh?)

Doris, did Bigfoot get his tooth taken care of yet?

Allie!! Honey! You made it home! And Toto AngelBaby, too! :)

Cedar, I can hear you singing "all I want for Christmas is a link that works"...;)

DAN: Are you talking about bib overalls? Those things are made of iron! I can tell you never washed any of those. Wet they weigh a ton & a half. What is the PEZ fabric made of anyway? Cotton? I have never seen any. BTW, have you contacted a lawyer yet? Hope you have good news very soon. That will make you feel really much better psychologically as well as physically. We are rooting for you.

RICHARDE: You still trying to get your point across? ROFLMEBRO.

DORIS: Whats the latest on Bigfoot's toofers? Any news from the oral surgeon? I sure hope he is not in pain all this time!

Guess most folks are getting their Thanksgiving menu in order. I won't miss all the cleaning up afterward. The leftovers are nice for a while, but seems there are just too many! Wonder what KARNE & Himself are doing for the holiday? They sure love their Texas vacations!~~~Jsan

Mornin SUDZ & ALL! It looks gloomy here, hope the sun is shining brightly for all of you. Guess we should not complain, its the end of November already!

JUDY: Are we counting trees yet? How are we doing? Don't forget the pics.

DORIS: what happened to the pic of the coat? It will be summer before you get it to me! ha. Suppose you are already cooking and preparing for turkey day. Hope Bigfoot is all over his cough and will be able to enjoy a big feed with the family.

ALLIE: that reminds me of my stove! LOL. I have a turkey in the freezer but have no idea when I will fix it. We will probably end up at Cracker Barrel for a nice dinner on Thursday. Their food is much better than any I could prepare. No comments from the peanut gallery, MD!

CEDAR: I don't know what we are going to do with you. Are the pics coming up on your practice board? There is some little something.......

LOU: Laughing at your "tons of jewelry". Reminds me I should get rid of some of mine. Being women, we love that stuff. Like men and their "toys".

One more week till we see a sea of orange around here with gun season opening for deer. Thats the time when I would rather stay inside the house. Some of these people would shoot at their shadow. Always someone getting hurt or worse. A dangerous time. The prof is out readying his paraphernalia, don't know whan CONNIE's HD will be hunting. I think the season already started down there... I am not a venison eater, so deer season is not a big deal for us.

Off to check out the cawfee leavings~~~~~~~~Jsan

Allie!! Doris and I were very happy to have you in church this morning. I see Doris dozed off once or twice. Noticed it when the preacher hollered and woke me up!

Cedar: This is how it works. I spent $15,000 for my EMP6 about 6 years ago. That includes all the frames, hat frame and enough thread to sink a battleship. I worked with a print shop here in town for a couple years to recoup my outlay. I do a little custom work occasionally. So now I use it for personal pleasure mostly. I spent that money yesterday so I can do fancy work and give it for Christmas and such. Bret also likes to embroider gifts and expect it will make him a few dollars if he ever really applies himself.

I still do a little work for the college here in town, but that is only because the head of the learning Center is a very good friend of mine. Sometimes a preacher who is a friend of mine has a fund raiser and I help out there. If I tried to count my cost I would probably blow the machne up. I know I am supposed to charge $1.50 per 1000 stitches, but rarely do that.

Dan: I see you! Did you go look at the PEZ fabric? I may go back and get some just for the fun of it. I like the yellow best.

Got to go fill the duck feeder. Oh, my aching back!!

Hello all== Well I have 3 rooms clean from top to bottom! Living room, den, and kitchen so tomorrow when I get home I will clean bathroom. Those are all the rooms that my company will be in. Really feels good knowing they are clean, I forgot how that felt. ROFL~!!! I was going to fix some fudge candy to take to work tomorrow, but now I'm too tired!! Oh well another day =perhaps!

Allie= I know you and family had a great reunion. There's no place like home!!

LOU= My friend has an embroidery machine and I went with her to buy all the stuff you need to embroidery on something and that changed my mind about wanting one Boy! Was all that stuff expensive!! You would have to charge a ton to make any money doing it for business. I get her to do work for me. In my opinion all fleece is expensive. I was going to make some of those snuggles for Christmas gifts but I can buy them cheaper than I can make one.

Doris= Thanks for explaining that to Richard the third. I didn't understand what he didn't get the point of! ROFL!!
This could get complicated.
When you see the pages of a recipe book all messed up with greasy spots then you know which recipes are the best. I have some just like that too.

Well going to get busy cutting out a pattern for a pair of slacks for a friend's Christmas gift. I always make her an outfit at Christmas and for her birthday!
Hope all of y'all have a very restful nite and a blessed tomorrow!....Cedar....

I am off to church with Doris. I have to drive to the downtown area. My church is over 100 years old and on the historic registry. I like it anyway. It has a very old organ and sometimes the orgaist gets very LOUD. It is very cold and drafty so the ladies have crocheted afghans and pillow for the pews. Maybe I will grab a quick nap today!!

Bret is off to see the girlfriend today. She does not go to church and she is going to be mad cause he got a haircut last week and she wants him to grow his hair long. He does not like long hair. Never has. I do not expect this love story to play on much longer. He is wanting a flat screen tv for his room, in case they break up he will have a nice tv. Wants gift cards to Target to pay for it. Sounds like sound reasoning to me. He was 7 when we got custody of him and the first place he wanted to go was the barber! I figure it is his hair.

Ok, off to the shower. Check in later. Wait for me Doris!!

HI---Happy that you are safely at home ALLIE. I can just feel how good your own bed felt after all that time...Rest lots so that you can post again soon.

HI FLATFOOT--You seem to be new to E Bay and maybe chat lines too. Come on in and tell us about yourself...

Still another foggy day...Can't see the lake let alone the other shore...It won't be too bad for driving to church. I just have to drive to the edge of town on this side...

RICHARD the Third---I didn't miss the point...I never put my bras in the dryer but over the years they have shrunk too...If it wasn't for that part of me I would weight 4 pounds less...

Those Cherruy Bars are really good. Almost too good. It's an old recipe but I get it out once in awhile...That page in the cook book is brown with age and splashed with lots of by gone stuff....It is Marks' favorite but I don't make it for him anymore. He doesn't need anything that sweet and sugary....I contains cocoanut and nuts too. I used it because it makes a small pan. I knew these people would get lots of food brought to the house so I made a rich but small pan of bars....

Better get going...Prayers will be said for one and all....SBIT Doris

It got into the 60's here today, and it was kinda shocking to see many of the plants blooming...with hummers and butterflies skitterin about. How soon one forgets! But it all came back quickly. LOL!

All is going well with the caregivers. Gotta remind 'em of the pooper scooper. JEAN went out back and went back in with more than she'd left with. *snort*

Well, today was not my day for saving money. I have got to stay away from these trunk shows! And Walmart. I found some pez material, but couldn't justify buying that any way I tried. I already spent $700 on an embroidery club membership for a year. I must be nuts. But in all fairness I am almost finished with a beautiful fleece baby blanket for my friends son's to be soon wee one.
I will post it on my blog one of these days. Well, duh, have to finish it first.

I been hanging a little on the jewelry board and i am here to tell you, those people chat a lot. I don't have time to keep up with them!

I just used up a whole spool of pink thread. This is going to get expensive!

Is Allie in California now? Her airplane scared me when I turned on this site and it flew up at me. I scare easy! I have to take a little run to Las Animas and drop a daughter off there so she can go to Lakin for a few days. Another daughter will pick her up in Las Animas and take her to Lakin and then bring her out here Tuesday. Gets complicated when kids don't have cars, but want to go somewhere.

Penny's geese are getting very mean. I think she is going to eat them. My geese are not mean and I think it is because of my pond.

I am trying to stay away from the estate sales since I bought that 4 tons of junk jewelry. I am flat out of room in this house! Going to go forage in the refrigerator. Must be something in there to eat. Wish me luck!

I guess there is a price to pay for everything!I will be cleaning for some time yet!LOL!

richarde13== I haven't heard of a washing machine shrinking anything unless it is made of some special material. But the dryer sure will! Hang it up to dry.

JSAN== I don't like turkey or Chinese food. I use chicken instead. I guess I wasn't exposed to different foods growing up. We mostly had veggies and biscuits. The only meat we ever had was pork and beef. My Dad hated chicken or turkey. He wouldn't let Mom cook it in the house! When we had dressing my Dad would use the broth from the beef roast and believe it or not it was really good. Ever once and a while I still fix it that way . Reminds me of my childhood days!!

Well I have to go and finish cleaning the front porch. Leaves and stuff everywhere and some spider webs I was using for Halloween. ROFL!

So wishing you all great peace for tonight and
tomorrow!!.... Cedar...

DORIS: LOL thinking of you standing out in the cold with your wine glass lifted to ALLIE! I am so glad she is going home, that will bring happiness to lots of folks at the Allieranch! Good that you got to see your friend before it was too late. Many times we put things like that off until it is too late.
Sounds like your Thanksgiving will be a grande one. We will be going out for the holiday as kids are not home for this one. I tire of leftovers rather quickly. ha. We are having out of town company the day before so that will be enjoyable.

LOU: I agree that your weaving should not be used as a tablecloth! A wall hanging would be perfect. Its hard to believe that folks used to do all that work for their winter wear. Sometimes it seems that life nowadays is too daggoned easy. Our young ones do not have the foggiest idea what life was like "back in the old days".

CEDAR: It sounds like you do not have your pic uploaded right. Are you using Photobucket? If so, make sure you copy the HTML exactly or it will not work. One of these days, you will hit it lucky! ha.

Well, I am way behind on catching up, so will hang it up for now. MD, gonna have Chinese food for dinner. Brought in of course. If good will add that place to the speed dial. ROFL. Y'all be good.~~~~~Jsan

HI----I heard ALLIES plane fly over just couldn't see it because of the fog...It's foggy here every morning and sometimes a lot of the day. Hope she made it home ok. Bet her own bed felt very good.

I am baking a pan of Cherry Bars to take to the home of one of our Birthday Club girls...She passed away yesterday...I did stop in to see her on Thurs. but there was no response to speak of. So it was no surprise that she died the next morning....At least she went in peace after years of suffering with a back pain they could do nothing for...And a heart problem...On my list of the top 10 people in my lifetime that I consider "very nice people" she would rate there someplace. I just never can undersatnd how some people can be so nice. She was one of those...We will miss her. I was so happy that I stopped by to say good bye to her. Makes me feel good about that.

It's till quite mild for Nov. in MN...So we have been doing a bit of running around getting a few things done before the big snows start to come...We will have Thanksgiving upstairs...Melissa "Grand Daughter" is bringing most of the food. I am going to make a small turkey too so that we have left overs.....I love left over Thanksgiving food. Must run for now...SBIT Doris

Allie: You will probably be posting again before most of us figure out you are gone.LOL

Cedar: Thanks. I would be afraid to use this blanket for fear something would happen to it. Somebody thought it would make a nice tablecloth and I reminded them people spill stuff on tables. I think it would make a nice wall hanging. Strange to think that everything out forefathers had was handmade like this. They could not be picky!

I have a fleece that my sister gave me and that is what I use at night. May need something more later, but it works for now.

Bret has to be to work at 7:30 in the morning. The Anita Good demonstration is tomorrow. He was 2 hours late getting home tonight. He will really be tired tomorrow night.

I made a seed catcher today with Elvis Presley on it. I haven't listed it yet. Got to wait till the time is right.

I'm off to bed. See you tomorrow afternoon.

Good morning to you all! We are supposed to have a nice day today, then turns to crap. I shall enjoy the day today. I need to get out there and run the mower and get the leaves up before snow comes and packs that down.

The boy is feeling much better, because I took him to the doctor and the doctor said feed that boy some shorten' bread! Not really, just could not resist. He did say he had a cold which had made his asthma flare up. Gave him a nebulizer treatment in the office and was immediately better. Sent him home with new neb medicine, antibiotics and steroids. He thinks he will go in to work today and take the nebulizer with him.

I have a very easy day planned. Linda will come this morning and work on her quilt and I will work on some of my shirt work downstairs where the quilter is so I can keep an eye on her! then I will go have lunch with my friend Tim, go by Hobby Lobby and get ribbon for the IDS Ribbons. See, every December 1 is World AIDS Day. We have a service somewhere (Museum this time) and it ends with writing someone who has passed with AIDS name on a red ribbon and hanging it on a tree. That is a good idea I am having! I will do a thing on my blog for 12/1 and post pictures of the AIDS Memorial Panels I have made. The luck I have with the posting of the pictures, I probably better get started!

I been visiting over on the jewelry board and they seem like pretty nice people. I am going to get Linda online and get her involved over there, because her and her hubby did rocks, gems and jewelry until he passed last March. They were in Decatur and she moved back here.

I am just full of good ideas this morning. Maybe I should go soak my head! You all have a lovely day and I will check in later tonight.

Doris: Thank You!! This one is a gift. It has mistakes. I will be making another one before Christmas, but something like this sell for anywhere from $200-300. I may make one to sell. We will see later. What is nice for watching tv is just go buy 1 1/2 yards of fleece. Fleece is 60' wide so that would give you a piece 60 x 49. Fleece does not need hemmed as it does not ravel, is light as a feather and you can get whatever design you want.

Did you think I died? No, I have been busy and the online is goofing up. Have tried for 3 days to upload the blanket pictures and lord only knows where they go. It sure isn't where I want them to go.

It is kind of cool here, but not bad. Had the weavers guild today and brought home a nice little check for $796.00. That means I sold $896. Pretty good weeks work. Then had the museum thingy with 30 kids today. Tomorrow is finalize for World AIDS Day. Then relax and get this computer like it is supposed to be. I know I did something wrong, just what I don't know. I did change which one is the hub and actually got a picture loaded on ebay, so maybe there is hope.

Bret is sick again. He must like being sick. I got him to put the Vicks on the feet last night, or at least he said he did. Don't know if I can trust him or not, because it doesn't smell much like Vicks in there.

He has to be well by Friday, because Jerry has Anita Good in the shop on Saturday. I am even going to that. Anita Good is an embroidery company that puts on lots of shows.

Ok, I am out of here. Have a good evening and a happy, healthy tomorrow. LOU

Doris, it is best that Bigfoot goes to the oral surgeon. The dentists around here won't pull any teeth any more, you have to go to the surgeon. I'll keep him in my prayers - there's nothing worse than dental pain! - but I agree with D2oris, he will come through fine and will be glad it's over. You are like Jsan, always thinking you are going to be old and crippled up and drooling in a nursing home! There is just a very small percentage of elderly who end up like that, and you are already proving you won't be in that small percentage!

Cedar, LOL go to photobucket and they make it so easy even a cave man (or lady) can do it.

We love having the little fella here but I'm not getting anything done and am totally exhausted.

Allie, you & MOM are in my thoughts and prayers, too, and wishing for a safe trip home. Hard to believe how long it's been since you left there!

Doris: It's good that DH is going to see an oral surgeon. I know it sounds scary, but my DH had much the same problem and the oral surgeon had it out in nothing flat. They gave him pain pills to take home, but he didn't need them at all.

The worst part is the worry beforehand. I'm sure he'll do fine, we're all pulling for him. No pun intended!

Rainy day here so I did some mall shopping. For gifts?? No, mostly for myself. Usually I just shop my own closets, but for some reason I found a few things that I thought should go home with me....

HI----Well the Dental appointment was worse that we thought...Our dentist said it has to come out but he doesn't want to do it because he says he might get some of it out but it is going to crumble and then maybe Bigfoot would have to go to the Oral Surgeon anyway...So they took an X Ray and it has changed since they looked at it last time...They will send all the data to the Oral Surgeon and they will call us...Bigfoot said "It is coming out no matter what". So that's that. Our dentist said that it is way up there and the roots are close to the sinius {sp} place and he doesn't want to even try to take it out....So we have that to look forward to...There are Oral Surgeons in our next town so that isn't too bad...

LOU----We used to have MD help people with their computers but he isn't on very often any more and I don't know if he still does that kind of doctoring....Wish I could send Mark over he is pretty good at fixing up mine when I get it goofed up...

I think maybe that KAREN, with her little lappy and all the problems they seem to be having getting things up and going for them, has come across a good term for our DORIS TWO. It was a mis-type and it came out D2oris. I think I am going to use that if I can remember it...Sorry Karen that you are having troubles with all the electronic hook ups....It's all a mystery to me...But how wonderful when one gets it all together...

CEDAR-----I am with you on the "need-----want" issue. Its hard to live with someone when he doesn't need anything and I want everything...Gee, I figure I am not going to be around much longer I want things now. When I am in the wheel chair or someplace and I don't know what's going on then I will be at the point where I don't think I need anything either..For now I shop all the time...Mostly by cagalog and the internet but I have packages coming all the time...Why Not? Our mail box is always over flowing...We are known as the "heavy mail" people out here...We share the mailbox with Mark and Lesley and both of them send for things often...Our mail boxes are not by our house. They are up on top of the hill...They are supposed to lock but we have gone thru several locks and so we just leave it unlocked and it is always hard to get the mail out of the box because of the Wall St. Journal and all the catalogs, small packages and of course bills and other first class mail...For bigger boxes they put them in another bigger mail box and leave a key in our box to open it...But sometimes they just give up and deliver the mail to our door...And yes, we do remember them at Christmas time...They get a tip...Why don't we have two mail boxes? I guess this in considered one unit and only one mail box per unit...

HI ALLIE-----Hope its going well for you...Got your bag packed yet? At least we have tried really hard to have nice weather for you...Really it is nicer now than it was last summer...The sky was bright red out there at sunset time...Should mean another nice day tomorrow...Hi to all others....SBIT Doris

I have been fighting with the computer trying to get pictures on my blog and I think I finally figured out what the problem is and I am sure I am not smart enough to fix it. I have darn near driven myself nuts.

Am going to take a break and consult with someone smarter than I am, which could be almost any one who knows how to turn one of these on.

I stand corrected. Those Llamas over there are not llamas at all. They are alpacas. What ever they are they are real curious as to what I am doing over here! I know the other ones are horses. Give me a little credit here!

This wunderful Wi+fi has been doing it's best to blink on and off the last several days, but anyhoo, I am trying to check in. The got the pantry type closet done, 'cept himself has to hang the door. We are going to go look at flooring in a couple of days. I think we decieded at some kinda carpet, even with the doglet.

Also, my cell died last week, and I called home to get another one, and d-i-l shipped it last Tuesday, and still no phone. Now we will have to start the tracking crapola.

Need to call the Dish peeps back, dish isn't working now, actaully at all, since himself unplugged it all, cause it didn't work in the first place.

Dan--for some reason, I never thought of you as a little guy, more like a woolly bear!!Col!!

Doris--maybe you should try the Vicks, if BF will let you. I would not want that dentist apt. either!! Glad Lesley is getting along well!

Hi D2oris--yep those phone calls do that, but somethimes they do a body goog!!

Howdy Lou--glad you are making some money, going hither and yon!

Hey Cedar, was it you that asked a while back about the plastic rugs?? I have it outside on the porch, and it does slip a little, but it is pretty, ya know??

Hey Allie, still with ya!!

HI---This morning by the time I got up the sun was shining...Yesterday it was Pea Soup for quite awhile then the sun came out and it was almost like summer. I did go to town and dressed too warm...

Bigfoot still coughs. I guess I will really have to try out that Vicks routine. Really I haven't ever used it..

He woke up unhappy yesterday...He has a wisdom tooth that has never come thur the gum....A few years ago he had trouble it and the Dentist sent us to a specialist...So we went there and they X Rayed it again and looked it over and all we got was a big big for the ordeal...So nothing was done about it and so we are back to square one again...He will see our dentist today later....

He got what I call the "Nelson" teeth...This is from his mother's side...Large teeth with roots that to way down in the gumm. He did have one wisdom tooth sawed out along with a good bit of his jaw years ago...This will be the same thing I think...Who knows they may even have to take the last molar too...I think that is why they have put him off hoping he will die before that has to be done...Any of his family that have had teeth removed have gone thur the process and it hasn't been any fun...

Not many people posting yesterday. I guess we all needed a day off. Not even any spammers...Boy it is a slow day when we don't even get people posting that we don't like...So where is everybody??? Hope you are all having great weather like we are. I guess nature is trying to make up for the oold summer we had..
Mark and Lesley had a big outing yesterday. The first that Lesley has been out since her surgery....They had lunch and then went shopping...I haven't asked how it went with her but I hear them upstairs now so I will make my daily check up there.
Everyone have a great day....SBIT Doris

Doris: Are you putting Vicks on Bigfoot's feet? You remember it is the miracle cure! I must confess that I missed church this morning. I drove by the Vail Hotel and the weaver folks were there loading out the props and tables and all so I stopped to help and when we were done church was about over. So, I am sure the good Lord will have mercy on me. I know he loves me and he understands that I wander off sometimes to do other things. After all he is the one who made me this way!

Cedar: I hate snow. I like summer. I can shovel sweat all day long. I have no idea why I am living in Colorado, except that all my friends are here and it snows less in Pueblo than anywhere else I have been.

I have to go check in on the jewelry board and see if they have any books to recommend for me.

It is nice to see our little Dan popped in today!

Still way above temps. And it will be most of the coming week...No chance of the lakes freezing over...The Ice Fisherman are getting very unhappy...They like to have the fishhouses out by Thanksgiving...Won't happen this year. In the meantime we who don't fish like the mild temps...

I did try one nite back in the bedroom for some sleep. Darn hard to get rid of it. But he is better. I think we will change the sheets today, air out the room really good and maybe I will give it another try again tonite...

ALLIE---Good to hear that the end seems in sight for you..I know that you are all happy for that. We can't burn leaves round here. I always loved that part of fall but that was long ago they put a ban on that.

Well I started to write this and the computer was no cooperating so I went down and made some Chicken Enchilada Soup for a pot luck later. Alli: That is the cutest little calico cat! I always had calico cats, but now they seem to be very scarce and something seems to eat the cats that I bring home. Neighbors have 18 mangy old cats over there and nothing ever bothers them!

Oh, now the snowflakes are getting fat! I took some pictures of my saurkraut. Well, the crock it is in, 2 heads of cabbage, and the plate that covers it. It is starting to work so I will tend it tomorrow and take a picture without the plate. Then I will give kraut making lessons on my blog.

Lordie! I stopped at an estate sale Friday and bought a big box of costume jewelry. Went back yesterday and bought what was left. Bought gold and silver also. Grand total investment $20, but I am pretty sure this makes me queen of the ugly jewelry. Grand daughter and I started sorting and bagging last night. I necklace per bag. Total number of bags 167, not counting bracelets, earrings, pins. Found several gold chains that appear to be worth something. The ones with filigree are corroded and eaten away so they are worth nothing. Have probably 5 pounds of stuff I can hang on gourds and use for embellishments. I might go sign in to the jewelry board and tell them of my find. I am sure they can recommend a good book or site to help me with this endeavor!

Grand daughter is up so I have to go make her a buck wheat pancake. She will be pissed cause I usually make biscuits and gravy!

Have a good day and I wish you all a day filled with sunshine! LOU

HOWDY GANG!....Another long but goog day winding down. We had some sun for awhile, and it looks like a few more days of that in store. Still mostly in the 50's. I'll take it! ; )

Caregiver BARBARA brought her geetar along tonight and is boning up on her skills. She used to play with a group. Fun listening while working at tasks, and singin quietly along so no one hears my sad lack of being able to carry a tune. *snort*

MAX....Bet you're enjoying the cool weather. Sounds about like what I will be going home to soon. : )
The fridge is about the same size as the previous...both only about 18.5cf...but this one works ; ) The freezer is about half the size of the one she had and is frost free! Perfect! : )

LOU....Wow, sounds like you did great! Congrats!
Checked your blog quick-like. Kewl! : )

CEDAR....TY. He is a funny lookin critter. LOL!
We all need to take a full day off now and then to save our bods and our sanity!!! : )

ROBY83....You need to go to the top of this screen and click on the "Site Map". From there start reading everything you can about selling on ebay, especially in your item area of tickets. Look at closed and current auctions to get an idea on how to present it.
Good Luck and Welcome to the AC Board! : )

RUTHIE....Goog advice. Nice to see ya poopin in. : )

MEXPORTS....What is your topic? Our link to the "Big Yaller" info board is down at the Nov-11-09 at 18:31:58 PST post. Click on it and there are instructions there on how to upload a photo. Welcome to the AC Board! : )

DORIS....That coat sounds neat. Looking forward to the pic. Sorry about the lost sleep last night. Usually takes some time to make up for it. : O

Gosh I've missed alot! Touched on things that I caught while skimmin by. Hope I dint leave anyone out. Hi's to alla youse and catch ya on the morrow mabye. : )

Good evening to all. FL. has been showing off with some cooler weather.

Doris, I am chuckling about your coat. Is it one of those boiled wool jackets? If so, they are wonderful,a silk shirt or long sleeved sweater and you are warm as toast.

Cedar, now that is great news. Retirement at the end of this yr. Then the work really begins.

Lou, first snow always exciting...then! Yes, I didn't see any really ugly jewelry. Liked that fly/bug pin.

spirit_helper, my kind of coffee, hold the sugar. This past wk. have cut back on my coffee drinking, down to 4 cups a day. Might be sleeping a little better.

Allie, hope you have all appliances taken care of. A smaller refrig. will probably work well for Mom.

Guys, I know I kind of skip over greeting you. I have one heck of a time figuring out who you belong to!! Know it is Bigfoot and Doris. Then there are Wilburrr,Fred, Wills.I haven'i seen Pez for awhile.

Spent most of day at YS's. They were everywhere. got few nice things. Company coming tomorrow, will spend the night, then head to Keys fishing. I will have 4 days...no cooking. Got a big semi boneless ham I will bake for dinner Sun. They can slice up leftovers (?) and take with them for sandwiches.

Hope the weather holding up for everyone. Parts of East coast sure taking a beating. Wonder how much shoreline they have lost.

Nite

Doris: When the threads are put through the reed, which holds them in order, it is called sleying the reed. I knew that, but would not have come up with sley on that clue. Sley is not a thing, it is what you do to the reed with the thread. Wish you were here so I could give you a demonstration.

The sale is over and the show room is packed up and put away. Don't know my total yet, but some lady and her husband came in and bought 28 bars of soap this afternoon. that is $140. I should do over $800. I can eat again!

It is cold tonight and still kind of spitting. Guess they got a bunch just North of here. tim came and cleaned on the garage today. We are going to put the storage trailer in there and worry about the roof later.

Got church tomorrow, go see Joanne after church and then baby shower in the afternoon.

guess I will go to bed.

HI---We had a bit of sun today...The first for a long time...Not too cold out but supposed to drop overnite...

I knnow that most of you are much smarter than me but today I learned a new word....Lou was talking about the reeds on her weaving machine and I didn't know what she meant...I was working a puzzel today and one word that was asked for was a "weavers reed"...Of course I didn't know the name but it worked out to be "sley"...Now that I have seen Lou's weaving machine I can sort of imagine just what the sley is...Anyway did any of you know what a weavers reed is called? I didn't.

We had one of our neighbors from in town out here today along with his grown son...He used to always watch our house while we were gone and anything that I needed done I would just ask him and he would be there as soon as he could to help...{Bigfoot worked odd hours and long hours so I needed help} So Cedric came out here today and they put plastic on two sides of the porch...Now the snow won't come in there as much...He also crawled under the veranda to where the dryer vent is and checked that to see if it was ok...Then he pulled out the dryer in the landury room and checked the vent there...And if that wasn't enough his son put up a new shade in the bath room...I need one of these that goes down from the top and up from the bottom...Lesley had ordered it and it has been here awhile just waiting to be worked on...

Cecric and his wife were very hard working people...They raised a nice family and have a number of grand kids...They would take all those grand kids babies and what not camping in the summer...The parents had time off for a long weekend or something like that. They were the best neighbors a person could have...I miss then a lot...Of course we never expected Cedric to do all those things for nothing. He picked up a lot of odds and ends jobs all the time and still does...Not a lazy bone in all that family...If all people would be like them this would be a wonderful world...

Mark just came down and so I will have to cut this short...SBIT Doris

2K3E64N, You must have had some communication with the seller, so try that addy, or post on the feedback what has happened.

If you paid with payPal, contact them about it.

If it was sent in the mail, there should be a paper trail somewhere.

Hope this helps, Ruthie

Here I am! Been a little busy. Today is the last day of the weavers sale, so have to go in about 5 and do my shopping and then help break down the sale. I think I have done really well. Let you know tomorrow.

I have the last post on my blog before I put the blanket pictures on Monday. I will post the link again Monday so you can see.

It is cold today and supposed to snow. I made 40 pounds of cabbage into saurkraut yesterday. Need to have the boys put that somewhere and I don't know where. It needs to ferment, but not to hot and not to cold and for Cripes sake, not in the house! That is some stinking stuff when he get to working good.

Please do not think I am going to eat this all by myself. I have friends who actually pay for this stuff. I do like it though. Can't go that store bought stuff.

Doris: Your coat sounds delightful! I would like the lightness of it. I am looking for a coat that is light and easy to move around in, but not having any luck finding one. Really don't care what it looks like, just how it feels. I am not into fashion and have been wearing the same jeans and tee shirts for years and when they get old I buy more just like them.

Oh,, I see out my window that the tree is looking drippy. We are supposed to get snow today and tomorrow. I laugh in the face of snow and bad weather! The pond has not had even a skim of ice yet.

I checked out the ugly jewelry and I thought some of it was actually kind of different. Lot of it qualified as gaudy as opposed to ugly.

My son will be here 4 days over Thanksgiving. I am all a twitter. He is the one kid I have that I can actually have an intelligent and philisophical(sp) discussion with and when we are done debating we can go for a walk or something and it is forgotten. I enjoy that. His name is Sam. Well not really. His name is Earl Edward, but I always wanted a son named Sam, but when I actually got one, the husband didn't like that name. So he has been called Sam for 40+ years. My brothers name was Delbert Leroy, but we called him Jake until the day he died! Names don't mean much around here!

Water fowl await. Got to dump feed today. Hate to bother the little Bret.

Have a good one and talk to you later when I know something.

Allie== That little GOGGLED-EYED TURKEY pic is sooooo cute. One of your best yet! SWEET!

Doris= I do the same thing with everything I buy. I cut a slit a little ways down the front of my T-shirts and fold it back then sew it down with some decorative stiches. I can't stand anything tight around my neck When my son was about 7 yrs old I would buy a night shirt and cut it at the neck and he would run and yell " Daddy she is cutting her new clothes again! So funny. I know you will get the coat fixed just the way that will please you.

Fixin to write up some more things to put on ebay, so chat later. If I don't get back I hope everyone has a Blessed Nite and a positive, productive tomorrow. BE SAFE!.................Cedar............

HI---Later last night I looked at the pamphlet that came with the coar...Several pages because it was written four different languages...When I finally found the Elglish one I was very sruprised that I could read...After reading that I then started to realize why I ordered the thing.

The salesclerk that I buy from was not there yesterday. She had to take her husband to Mpls for something medical and won't be back until Tues...So I thought it would be fine if I just went and picked up the coat...Her sister was at the store {these are the owners} and of course se is a great sales person also but she didn't go into the detail as to why this coat was different and I had forgotten why. But after reading about it I rmembered the whole thing...
These coats are made in Austria and they have a pattened method of steaming this certain kind of wool...Those coats are very sturdy and have a little weight to them and very warm...This is a new process they are using and it makes for the same warm texture but is much lighter in weight...Really it is light as a feather and it is lined...They never line any of their coats or jackets as a rule...So that is why is it different...Very classic styling which never goes out of style...Love the color. Now to work on the buttons.
I never like my buttons to stick out and be showy...I kind like them to blend in with the garmet and therefore I many times change buttons on what I buy...There is always an extra button so I have one to experiment with if I want to paint it or something...I will try that first. If that doesn't work then I will get some matching buttons that are smaller....Pam, my sales person, will just have her usual fit because I always have to change something with what I buy...I always say, 'but then it is one of a kind.'..This has been going on for years...

Sleep was disturbed last nite because I moved back to the bedroom and at 3:30 Bigfoot coughed and we both got up. He of course can go right back to sleep but for me it's the end of the night...I did move back to the couch about 5 AM and maybe did get a big more shuteye....I don't have to go anyplace that I know of so I will just putter around here and get some stuff tossed out or put away...Of course there is always the buttons I can work on...Even Bigfoot is a good help there and has spray painted buttons for me...

Another mild but dismal day...Just fog and gloom...We can't even see the lake...

CEDAR--I know that you just had they eye surgery and have said like so many others that it goes well...I just put it off because with my FL trip coming up and getting ready for Christmas I just didn't want to fuss with all those eye drops and visits to the Dr. I can do that in Jan. when not much is happening. But thanks for the encourgement....SBIT Doris

HI---Well, I went and picked up my jacket or coat whichever...I ordered it way last Mar. so I had forgotten what it was styled like. All I remember that is was a very pretty blue....I was a bit or maybe more that a bit disapointed. It is pretty enough but not like I remembered at all. Really very plain with big pueter bottons...They will change color after I am done with them...It is styled with a seem across the back waiste and something else there. The lining Is beautiful but that doesn't show of course...Maybe I should wear it inside out...I will see about a picture...Heck I might even take a picture of another coat and tell you that is the new one...Hard to say just what I might do...

Very cloudy here all day...Sort of foggy. But no rain..Maybe tomorrow the rain will come...At least it is still mild for MN...Must hurry along and get some things done before Surviror...Bigfoot doing better each day but he isn't eating like he usually does...So I know he's not completely well yet...Normally he eats everything in sight...SBIT Doris

Dangnabbit! I have no ugly jewelry and that does sound like a hoot. I think they have had this contest before. Anyone remember our contests? Those were loads of fun. mabey someday we will get at it again.

DORIS: Anytime you wanna send the pic of your coat/jacket, I will be happy to post it for you. I think that is very wise to put off the surgery till January. You are gonna be one happy camper when you get it done. Just bothersome to put the drops in so much. But after that, you will be able to see like you did years ago! I was very surprised.
Hope Bigfoot is getting bettter by the day. This is a bad time of year to try to get rid of a cough. You are gonna keep in touch while away, right?

KARNE: How are things going? You are so busty I know. Have a blast girl. Check in when you can.

ALLIE: Glad things are coming to a head up there. Your tomcat is going to be really happy to see his better half! When is the date fr flying? Know yet?

COBBIE: The Military Moms sounds great. Know you all do a rewarding job. My nephew is set to deploy next month to Afghanistan. I will be a nervous wreck but I know I join many others in worrying. Is there a site we can go to to get the best ideas on what to send our military guys/gals? We really need to know the best and most useful things to package. Your ideas will be most helpful!

DANNY: Sorry, I have no ideas on your Coke sign. Might be helpful to try our big yaller board down below. Click on the Welcome sign and look for Coke products.

LOU: Went to your site, and found it very interesting. I would never have your patience.

Hi CEDAR, MAX, DORISTUTU, WILLS and all others I missed. Stay well & happy. BBL~~~~Jsan

HI---I did check your weaving LOU---Wow what a lot of work to get it set up...The only thing I ever did that was sort of weaving was some Indian beads...Those small ones...It was fun. It came in a kit. Don't rmember what happened to the band I did finish...Looks like an interesting thing to do but at my age I will just work on all the projects that I have here waiting....

Bigfoot is much better. Thank goodness for that. Oh, he still coughs but he does that normally because of his asthama.

My trip to the eye surgeon was yesterday...Because he only comes here to the hospital about once a month he wouldn't be able to do my surgery until Dec. 2nd...Then of course I would have to see him the next day and a week later after that. Well, I will be leaving for FL on the 7th or 8th of Dec. and that woudld run pretty close. I would not be able to hang my head down or lift anything heavy for a week...How can I pack and then lift my surtcase to see if it's not to heavy for me to handle if I am not suposed to do those things. So I have put it off until JAN. when we will be here looking at snowbanks...That was a relief.

Today I am going to our next town...While I was gone I got a call that my Jacket that I ordered last spring is finnaly here. They call it a jacket...I call it a coat. For what I paid it is going to be a coat by my terms...I well remember the color but don't remember the style...Should be interesting....I will just whip over there myself and get it done fast...Bigfoot didn't seem to want to go along...

It's foggy out there this morning so at least it must be somewhat mild yet....So I better get some stuff done around here and then get ready to leave....Hi to all...SBIT Doris

PS---Yesterday while I was gone I had 3 phone calls that I had to call back....Some days my phone hardly rings....

OK. Got my first loom pictures on for you to view. Hopefully will have more tomorrow and then the blanket flying free of the loom by the first of next week. It is a tad bit cool today. High will be 72. That is ok, cause it is winter. Storm this weekend, but of course not much here.

I have to work at the sale today, then pick up my stuff on Saturday. Then it will be over for the year. Oh, I have my volunteer thing "Sheep to Shawl" at the museum Wednesday and I will try to get a few pictures of that. It is a kind of fun thing for school kids as a field trip.

My son from Dallas will be here the 25th with his friend, then the girls will probably come in about the same time. Better dig out some more blankets and kick back some floor space.

Lyn came and cleaned yesterday and everything looked so nice. Then Bret came home and got out the George Foreman Grill, cooked a pound of hamburger, then tipped the little thing that catches the grease upside down in the middle of the kitchen. gRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Ok, off to do something even if it is wrong. Will post the link again in case you missed it. loom

HIYA PEEPS!....Just shootin thru for now. JEAN and I picked out a fridge and smaller freezer for MOM yesterday, and they delivered it late this ayem. Caregiver LOUISE and I emptied the old ones out and got everything back together relatively quickly. Nice to have the huge old freezer gone and a smaller, frost-free model replacing it. The fridge was freezing veggies and fruits and letting the food nearer the top rot. : / Now I can go shopping and stock up on veggies and fruits again. : )

Evening Peepies ~

Doris, I am glad to hear your pacemaker is doing well. My little sister (45) had to have a heart valve replacement last April. Talk about a shock to all of us!! She is still battling with her Coumadin levels. She cut her leg shaving last week, and had to stay home from work 2 days due to bleeding. She's getting an Electric razor for Christmas!!! Needless to say..her levels were way off. So, I hope you can come off of yours, that would be a great blessing!

Alliekat ~ Straight 8 hours of sleep! WOW, GOOD FOR YOU!!! Sounds like its all coming together. Hope the one gal works out, I know it would be a set back to have to retrain someone again.

Lou ~ Blog looks wonderful! Quite the loom you have there, looks fun (lots of work) but fun, LOL! Can't wait to read the updates.

Cedar ~ If its a craft I do it, LOL! I opened a website a couple of years ago with my candles. Plus ebay! Business has taken off, especially this time of year. I have a few stores locally and out of state that now sell them too. Keeps me busy, sometimes more so than I'd like.

Karen ~ I know! I'm bad, but it wasn't for the lack of trying to get on here. My computers were both so old, that pages with javascript just wouldn't load. Now, I can fly thru them, HA! Hope you are having fun and enjoying yourselfs.

Wills and Jan ~ I agree! Prayers and Blessings to all that have served and are now serving our Great Country. We remember them Proudly! Been a tearful week with all the lifes lost so sencelessly.

I joined a website for Military Moms about a month ago. I know Troy (Casey's hubby) isn't mine, but I love that boy to pieces and support him totally. Anyway, the website does so much for the troops overseas and keeps us updated. Every little bit helps, every letter, card, pair of socks...whatever it takes to let them know we care and are proud of them. All we can do is support them until they are safe at home again.

Well, we are just now getting some of Ida's rain here! Guess we can mow one more time before putting out the Christmas Decor (here that Judy)! The weekend after Thanksgiving, not yet, HA! Just wanted to peek in and say "Hi". Hope everyone is having a great week.

Later Gators...

Hi EVERYONE-----Rather nice day here today...Not as mild as yesterday I didn't think..The light wind was cool around the edges...I was just wearing a light jacket outfit. By now we are usually into winter coats. So in comparison it was a great day for MN.

I had my pacemaker checked today. They think it is working great so I have to take their word for it...They sure have a lot of sheets of paper coming out of the machine that is checking it...It all looked good...

Yesterday I had my annual physical....Everything checked out very good...No obvious signs of leprosey or Black Plague. Of course they took a good sample of blood and will work on that for a week looking for something...I will let you know if I am on death row after those reports come in..I may be albe to get off the coumidin. My Dr. doesn't like for anyone to take that unless really necessary...That would be nice if I could get rid of that...It has to be checked often and that is a bother.

Tomorrow I see the surgeon who will be doing my cataract...He comes from another town...I will find out when the surgery will take place. I think in early Dec.

After that I get a perm...and hair cut of course....That will be wonderful...I did have an appointment to check on my Medicare health isnurance but she called and said she couldn't see me now. She will call me later on that...All this medical stuff drives me nuts...I am not used to so much doctoring...It will be nice when this week is over.I would much rather have appointments for Lunch Dates...

Mark built a ramp on their porch steps so that now he can get Lesley outside easily...So he had her out today in the wheelchair for some fresh air...He said pushing her up the hills took some effort...I said, good, you need some more exercise....

Lou---I did check your blog and weaving site...You come on so strong and have such an interesting life. We enjoy that a lot but this board just doens't move that fast usually...They will get around to your sites but it may take a few days. We have been telling you that you are so busy you make us tired just reading your posts...But keep them coming...Just don't expect answers right away....We plod along pretty slowly...

That Lobster Bisque soup sounded pretty good. Almost stopped by for a bit of that...We will be waiting to get to see what your blanket looks like...

HI WILLS and JAN---Thanks for posting about our troups...Do hope that everyone gives them a bit of thought tomorrow and every day as far as that goes...They aren't even safe here in our own country...Someone wasn't on the ball when they let "you know who" into the military...Well wherever he would have been he was up to something...And he got at the ones that he knew didn't have guns to shoot back...Lucky there were some armed people that came to the site and cut him off before he could reload and fire some more...Enough damage was done for sure...

JAN -- we are thinking about you and do hope that soon you will have all your ducks in a row and can head for home...

Bigfoot is still coughing with that grave-yard cough..I talked to the Dr. yeasteday when I was there and he said to give him the rest of this week to see how things go. Those meds would be working for a few days...He does look better but that coughing is hard on a person so really he isn't doing much of anything. I let him do the dishes as usual.

Before I get a perm I usually wash my hair and treat it with sone insta-cure or something...So I better do that. I should look really good tomorrow when I see the eye Dr. He may take one look and run...HA!

Hi to all others...SBIT Doris

Going to have one of those days so will check in right quick and then hit it. below is my link and the weavers guild is all excited. I have made $469 so far at the sale and will be delivering more today cause I am running low on the Tahitian Vanilla.

I am making Chicken Enchilada Soup and Lobster Bisque for their lunch today. It is supposed to be a tad bit cooler today. My son will be here from Dallas on the 25th. I am all a twitter.

My blanket has grown to 26 inches. I think it will probably end up about 48 x 48. Got to see where the pattern ends me. I think it would look a little strange to end it too much longer then it is square.

I think tomorrow I will start postings on my blog of the big loom and this blanket project. So be sure you get over there and make note of the web address so you don't miss out. the click here below takes you right to the first picture.

I have 2 turtle doves that are living in the cherry tree right outside the office window here. I think they mate for life. I think! That is a scary concept-- the thinking, not the mating for life.

One of the spinners has alpaca yarn for sale and it is so soft! Feels like mohair. May buy some and see how it spins up.

Have a lovely day, and Allie, you take special care. Quit running so much. You are getting as bad as me, but soon you will be in the groove somewhere else and it will all work out well.

GOOG EVENING PEEPSTERSnETTES!....YIKES! 10 days since I've posted comments. : O
Thought I'd start peckin away here at 5:30, and mabye I'd get an actual message up tonight. Just NO time to even really read the posts well. So many details to show these gals, and I have to do it for each one while they are here. Going very well with all but one gal. Not sure if we will keep her. Just not enough initiative for me. All the rest dive right in and find stuff to do, or ask/suggest how we can accomplish everything. She's a nice gal, but we'll see. : /

Oh my, it is nearly 11p'em already. Been busty making lists and thangs with JEAN tonight. I need to go order a new fridge tomorrow, that I looked at earlier in the week and she's going to go with. MOM's is freezing veggies and such, but letting stuff at the top shelf go bad. She's had it for over 30 years, so I guess it's done its job just fine. ; )

I actually had 8 hours of sleep last night!!! I don't think I've done that since July some time. I shut my bedroom door so ZOE couldn't wake me up early to do her job, and that worked. She went to the caregiver for help. She's learning to trust others. Yay! PLUS, I took a two hours nap. Can you believe it??!! Gettin tahrd now and ready to head back soon after I finish this. : )

We've had a mild Indian Summer here for the past few days. Temps around or in the low 60's. Very nice for November. Our yard guy came yesterday and did leaves and all. He left a large pile that I decided to finish burning. I love to burn leaves. Started when I was a kid. Got em all done and had a goog time doing something outdoors for awhile. Now the yard guy can get to other tasks the next time he comes, too. : )

I've given up on answering posts. Waaay too many to do that and me with no time. Yawl have a wunnerful restful night! : )
CA:WXPortWI:WXPort

I was in the pub yesterday when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to pass gas.
The music was really, really loud, so I timed my gaseous explosions with the beat of the music.

After a couple of songs, I started to feel better.
I finished off my pint and noticed that everybody was staring at me.

Then I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my iPod. ; )

Karen: The tape maker is completely seperate. Has it's own little tiny iron and everything. It is made by Simplicity and is called a "Bias tape maker machine." Should find in a fabric store, but I got mine at the Sewing Machine shop. Trust Walmart will have them as soon as they find out there is someone interested.

The snake did not eat the mouse Bret put in there yesterday so I will not go in his room because I can not stand to see the little thing standing there shaking. Gruesome! I do not like boys anymore.

Evening Peepies ~

Doris, I WISH we could retire, but HD still has about 12 years left. My business has grown so much this past year, that I'll probably still be working when he retires, LOL! BUT, we still have our little place up in the mountains of NC, so that's where I'll be heading. There and TN!

Judy, HUH! Nobody said nothing about a "NEW" couch. Where ever shall I lay my weary body now for my afternoon naps??? I think we'll have to have an ASPHATS meeting about that, LOL! Yes, I guess I can wait to see the trees (Do I have a choice) LOL! I'm so anxious for Christmas to get here. Normally, NO! But with Casey and Troy coming home, I just want them to get here and enjoy the holiday with them. Thank you, I'm glad to be back too. I missed everyone, sure makes a difference with a new computer.

Wills? OMG, Shirley??? Boy, I missed that one. The gang will have to fill me in. When you bringing her to FL? You won't believe this, but HD STILL has that terrible green recliner, ROFLOL!

Fred ~ I think Bow season has started. HD usually starts the week of Thanksgiving. They go up to the Ocala National Forest near Gainsville. Casey won't hunt (she just likes to go) although she's a pretty good shot. But, her hubby will, we have all his rifles here, so he's good to go. His license is free since he's in the military. If they make a kill, oh yes...they will bring it home to eat. I'll have to put a clothes pin on my nose, HA!

Jan ~ What storm? OMG, I didn't even know we had one out there. I had to go watch the news when I read your post. Lois is slipping, LOL! Looks like it will stay away from here and I certainly hope so. If not, our neighbors will be bombarded with pool floats and toys, LOL! We haven't put that stuff away yet. Guess I should kick HD off the TV and watch the weather from time to time. FOOTBALL, Racing...Good Grief!!! He super glues his fanny to the chair all weekend I think. PFFFFT!

Cedar, we eat so much chicken that we cluck around here. Mmmm, Judy's chili sounds good though. Not really cold enough here yet, but since when does that matter, right?

Nite Allie, Sleep well and pleasant dreams.

Well, more to say, I missed some folks, but I still have work to do. So, guess I'd better get back to it. See ya'll for coffee in the morning.

Hi People:::::We had a little rain very early this morning. The rest of the day has been mild but not much sun until sundown...Then it was red and pretty out there.

WILLS---Happy Anniversary...Two years and that's about how long you have been gone from the board on a daily basis. So it is so nice when you do stop by...

FRED---I know about metal gussets too...The most traveled bridge over the Mississippi River between Mpls. and St. Paul broke down about two years ago...A number killed and some injured...It happened right at the busy evening rush hour...It took a long time but they found out that the "Gusset Plates" that held the thing together were not heavy enough and they twisted and the bridge came tumbling down...Made for a big mess for driving between the two very busy ciites for over a year....

Who was it that needed bread bags? Maybe LOU....She does everything...My brother was a plant manager for Safeway Bakerys in CO for many years...He would always bring us lots of bags that they weren't going to use anymore. They change the breads now and then and have lots of left over bags to get rid of...Do you have any connections with a large bakery that you ask to see if they have anything like that? Just a suggestion....We missed those bags after he retired....

LOU the bias tape wouldn't be for me but I can just see Lesley wanting something like that. She sews a lot. I will mention to her that I know someone that can make bais tape and maybe even quilt bindings to match what material you are working with...I just love to smart off like that!!!!

CONNIE---Do you plan to retire soon? If so just where would you go? Just wondering....

JAN shorting pants is easy...I usually have to lengthen mine so I have to put them down and face them...Have done that so many times I couldn't even tell you how many....

PICKER---We are looking forward to pics of the trees...But don't work too hard just because we expect you to...In fact you could run some of last years pics and I bet we couldn't remember them all...Just remember of thinking of all the work to put them up and then take them down again...

This coming week I have a number of appointments...Reg. check up with the Dr. Blood check, Eye surgeon for my cataract, Perm. and Lunch one day...Can't remember it all. I will have to keep a close check each day so that I don't get mixed up...Also have to check on my Medicare coverage...I will be to town each day but at least the weather is supposed to be nice...Good for that...So I don't expect to be on the board very often....I may have to surf the posts to see if JAN will be flyig back to CA...I have to get out and wave my wine glass as she flys over....SBIT Doris

Judy== I wasn't brought up on wild meat. We didn't even eat chicken. My dad didn't like it for whatever reason I don't know. We had pork and beef. Ever so often maybe a fish fry, but I didn't eat fish then at all. But Boy could I eat the fries and hushpuppies! YUM! You are going to have all of us trying your blackened chili! Ha....Still waitin for the tree it isn't July anymore!
I still get tickled when I think about the button and the hole!! ROFL!!
Well have to work tomorrow make another $1.00 and spend $2.00.
Hope all have a good deep sleep tonight and a wide awake joyful tomorrow!....Cedar....

I'm making blackened chili again. It's become a rather common item on the menu here recently.

Fred! He won 2 grand! Wow! The only thing I ever won was an Igloo cooler. I typed up, copied and numbered the tickets for my boss for the drawing, and he gave me a free ticket for doing that work. I probably had it for 20 years before I ever used it. The Steelers play the Broncos on Monday Night. I can't believe the Bengals beat the Ravens, and the Ravens beat the Broncos last week to break their undefeated standings. The Bengals are sitting above the Steelers in the standings but I still can't believe they are for real. Hope the snozz is feeling better.

ROFLOL at y'all and the corset and gusset. And Lou's bra. I can't imagine me in a corset...LOL

Connie, it's so nice to see you around here again. You don't really want to see tree already, do you? I like to wait until after Thanksgiving (now I sound like KISA) and show y'all one or two a day to get you in the hohoho spirit. Remember how CEDAR was in July, she didn't want to hear a THING about HoHoHo back then. :)

Doris, I know you'll keep an eye on Bigfoot to make sure he gets the doctoring he needs. I got a kick out of the snap, that you just so happened to have one on hand. I know exactly the kind you mean but I don't know you they still sell them in stores.

We are going to have grandson for several days, I think beginning the 12th. I have a lot of 'child proofing' to do before now and then.

CEDAR, my dad was a hunter. The worst thing we ever had to eat was bear. I took one bite and I said a swear word and said I wasn't eating that $@#& any more. I was three. It's amazing I lived to see 4.

Allie, Jan & Connie, take note of the new sofa, and the rules are No Sleeping on it. Besides, it isn't broken in yet so it doesn't hug you when you lay down in it.

Wills, Happy Anniversary, IMO everyone's life is happier with a good mate. Likewise, nothing is more miserable than a bad one. Ugggh. I think every one has been there. Big hugs back at ya.

Jan, there is a dry cleaners not far from our house and they do alterations. You & Bill will have to come visit and see the trees and bring your stuff that needs alterations. Then you can come back, or, I can mail them back to you! I'll even burn some chili for you.

Lou, we end up throwing bread away, in the bag. Do you know how many bags you need? I bet it's a truckload. You are one funny gal. I don't remember the cardinal made with bias tape. Maybe you can find it on the net?

OMG, ROFL at Jan and the button. I bet there's heck to pay in southeastern Ohio tonight (and maybe several nights). LOL

Hi Pez.

Y'all have a good week!

Hugs & niters,
Judy

Fred= I believe if you shoot something then you should have to eat the meat. Not I---Hey they even like turtle and all the wild game. WOW! your nephew is one lucky guy.

Wilburrrr== Happy Annivesary!! I would sing~~~~but I don't think you would like it very much!! Hope y'all have many more!

Allie= Hope your sleep was restful..

Doris== Hope Bigfoot gets to feeling better. It's awful when you don't feel good.

Hi Aces Just heading out ot move cows. Nice a seasonal or better temps here.
Jsan yup vics for my snout great cure. You shouldn't admit to having had a bag colection.
Way to go Lou. Those shows are fun if you like people and have time.
Judy Who do the Steelers play? My nephew picked 10 out of 10 in a pool thingy got $2000 for $10 I think. He said a lot of big payouts that week . Mostly fav's won or made spreads etc.
Doris A gusset sounds like something for eve trough parts from the hardware store. Actually it can be used for a way to strenthen metal by welding another piece in a certain way as well. But your sewing one would be a little different I suspect.

Cedar you could write a lot of what I don't know anything about for sure. Most of my sew terms would be like "sew what" . Doesn't that bug you when you lose a long post.
Connie. When hunting season down there? I remember the flack we took from one person because we dicussed the merits of hunting as oppsed to letting animals over populate and be dealt with worse by nature such as starving and runnung into cars. I imagine Dave and I will take more flack as time goes on. I better not start on that one sorry for the rant. Nice seeing you. Sorry if I missed anybody . got to run Fred

Doris: I will be tickled to death to make you bias tape. Just send me the material, how wide you want the finished tape and how much. This machine ought to be good for something and so far you are the only one I know who needs any!

Does anyone remember years ago they used to take red bias tape and fold it in such a way that it looked like the body of a cardinal bird? It was then stitched onto a tea towel and you embroidered a beak, feet and 2 eyes. I have the red tape, the tea towel, but can not get it folded right.

I have not forgotten that I am supposed to be working on a pattern for the bread wrapper rug, but here is my dilemma, I don't actually eat bread, so wrappers are hard to come by. The neighbor had given me 3 wrappers and the cleaning lady threw them in the trash. So I am in quest of wrappers again. Someday!

Going to go check old Wilburrr out down there. Then get ready for church. I will set with Doris today.

Goog Morning peepers! What an absolutely perfect morning here in SE Ohio. We must be doing things right.

WILLS: Such a delight to see you again. And congrats to your "anniversary" with Shirley. She has been your blessing, you are our board gentleman and deserve the best. We all join in wishing you continued happiness! Mabye with winter coming on, you will have more time to post. Those days with your Goog Morning rooster posts bring back fond memories and a smile. Perhaps the RED HUSSY might pop in? Or do you think Shirley might scare her off? rofl.

COBBIE! I was thinking of you this morning watching that hurricane and hoping Lois Lane would do her superb reporting for us. It looks as if its doing a loopity loop which leaves you all nervous I know.

ALLIE is still asleep this morning...She needs her rest. While DORIS and JUDY are in the pews whispering prayers softly for the rest of this motley crew.

CEDAR: I have looked around here for someone to hem slacks (we short ones always have trouble0 and it is a gigantic pain in the arse. No one wants to work! Guess collecting from the gubmint is easier while they sit and watch TV and eat bon bons...

LOU: laughing at the corset making one look more buxom. I guess some could call it that. Just made me uncomfortable and looking like I was ready to burst.

DORIS: I know you are keeping an eye on your patient. He could not be in better hands. If Vicks does not work, remember PENNIE and try Vaseline.LOL

See yall later. Do have a gooden.~~~~Jsan

HI---Gosh it isn't even morning here yet!!!!Just wanted you to know that we are having temps well above normal. MD is having like 70 degrees where he lives...This is supposed to last most of the coming week....We will love it.

Bigfoot is coughing much too much...He has one more pill to take tomorrow and if by Mon. he isn't better he will be going back to the Dr.

Good to have WILLS drop in. Just wish he would chat a little but just to have him drop by was nice...Hi to Shirley...

Yes, I know Bigfoot should have been wearing a mask...He has several kinds...He has one that he uses for really cold air...The strap where it snapped on to the mask was missing..So I got on the internet and found the company that make that mask but wouldn't you know they don't make that one anymore...Nothing else was anything like that one. So I took a look at the problem and I said I used to have snaps like that which I used years ago. But moving out here I couldn't possibly save all the things I would have liked to. So I got down the plastic tub of odds and ends and dont you suppose I had some on a card just what was needed for repair for his mask...You used a wooden thread spool and hammer the thing on the mask...It worked and now it is a good as new but of course doesn't help if it isn't on the face at the right time....But I do appreciate all the helpful hints that you have mentioned here...Thanks for that...Makes a person feel that you care...

For you that do sew I know what you mean when people think you can just do or fix most anything. Been there and have done that too...Had a friend that needed a Muff for her daughter who was with a Christmas Caroling Group and the muff for her costume was missing... Could I make one...Well, I did and she loved it so did her mother...So then the mother thought I should make one for her too because she loved the muff so much too....Of course I did that one too....But you know what I have in the back of my mind...One of these days I am going to need some bias tape to match the cloth I am working with and guess who I am going to ask if she will make me some special bias tape...LOU of course she needs something to keep her busy...

One thing I am happy about is that I am not forgetful like the rest of you seem to be....HA HA You know that's a big joke....I will be going to church in the morning and I will remember all of you of course....SBIT Doris

My DH says " It could be worse" and I say BLAH=BLAH

Jsan= That was a good story about the button.I'm still giggling when I vision you finding that hole! ROFL!!

Allie= Still thinking of you!

Max= Where are you?

Judy== These days and times you can wear anything anytime you please. There is no certain style except your own> So Please wear your pins if it makes you happy! Can't wait for the trees!!

Connie= You are so right about all the knowledge of medicines and procedures these days. I am still amazed every time I wake up and open my eyes because I can see clearly! Truely amazing.

LOU= You are exactly right that is why I don't sew for the public!! I guess they think we can just throw something together overnight. They don't have a clue!

Well folks think I'll call it a nite. So I want everybody on the board to have a glorious nite and a productive tomorrow!!.Cedar...

Ok, I am home from the craft show. Sold $177.00 worth which is about half of what I usually make, so thank the economy. My friend Steve was there with his guitar and his new cd. He got tired of singing the album songs so he pulled out his "peace" song book. So being the wall flower I am I started singing with him. We decided to be Peter and Mary, cause we had no Paul. Sure helped pass time between customers. Even Bret said we did really good.

Ok, that was from a very old song and I think the name of it is Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone. I mean really old, maybe the 50's. Used to do a lot of musicals back then.

A gusset is a piece cut on the bias and sewn in to make a garment bigger. A corset is what went around Scarlets waist and was cinched up to give her the wasp waist and make her look more buxom.

Yeah, Connie, I am around 39-in my wildest dreams! I can't even remember ever being 39. Sure I must have been at one time!

Ok, got to go watch the news. Good night, good night. Parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say good night tilll it be tomorrow. Lou and Willie Shakespeare.

COBBIE: Hey gurl! Glad you pooped in. Yeah, prof got a doe first day of bow season. He was one happy camper. Heres goog luck to Casey and HD on their hunt. When does the season open there? They will go to Ga., right?
Hope the foot is much better.BTW, you must have been peeking in my window! I had a nice nappie today, nice but short.

WILLS: You booger. Where ya been? We miss your big smile and big blue eyes around here. Hope your binnesses are going non stop. Has the economy hurt you? My brother (in Ga) got laid off after working at the same place for 30 years. Our country has gone to pot in many ways.

JUDY I agree on wearing your Christmas pins. I see them around and am ready to hunt for mine. I used to argue about seeing Xmas advertising before Thanksgiving but after it started before Halloween, I gave up! The seasons are too short. Might as well get all the use out of the pins you can. Tell Kisa the gals are with you on this one. ha.

DORIS: Isn't a gusset something ladies used to wear around their midsection to make them appear smaller? I tried one one time and it just made everything splay out above and below. Scarlett never stayed that skinny I'll bet. Bigfoot will be fine with your TLC. Don't let him get sicker, there is nothing in the world like a sick husband!

LOU: I am like DORIS. I get tired just reading about your day.Slow down before you run outta steam!

CEDAR: I must tell you this story. Today I had to sew up a seam on a pair of my slacks that exploded, and asked Bill if he had any loose buttons or anything. He had ONE, and brought me a shirt. So being June Cleaver I sewed the button on and as I was folding the shirt, I noted a large hole in the sleeve! I was furious. That shirt belonged in the trash rather than a button! It will be a long dry spell for any more buttons.ROFL.~~~~~~Jsan

Hi Peepies ~

Gorgeous weather in Central FL today, I am loving it!

Doris ~ Glad Bigfoot is feeling a little better. Glad the pills are working for him. I agree with Judy, mask help a lot.

Judy ~ Awe, go ahead and put your Christmas pin on, LOL! Stores are loaded with Christmas stuff, you'll fit right in. So...what theme is this tree??? I guess we still have to wait till they're all up to see pic, PFFFFT!!!

Oh Fred! I still remember those deer chats and I still do NOT eat anything that resembles Bambi, LOL! Glad to hear your surgery went well.

Cedar ~ Glad your surgery went well to. Its amazing what Drs can do now.

Lou ~ ROFLMEBRO! Glad you found your BIG BOX. I really shouldn't laugh, I'm right behind ya. I can lay something down, walk away and forget where I put it. Boy, who would have ever thought at age 39 we could lose so much stuff!

Jan ~ The Professor already got him a deer??? HD is geared up and ready to go. Casey took a hunting safety course, she'll be going to the woods this year too. OMG, like father like daughter, those two........

Allie ~ Hope things are starting to come full circle for you and your Mom. Gentle hugs to her as always.

Wills ~ HELLO!!!!

Karen ~ Glad you made the trip safe and sound. I can't wait to retire, LOL! REALLY, I don't plan to be in FL much at all. Have fun, play hard and keep in touch.

Max ~ Sounds like a wonderful find. Hope you are enjoying the magazines and I hope they bring you lots of sells on ebay.

Well, I know I missed some folks, but I'm waving atcha. Been a long, hectic week and I need a nap. I know Jans probably already covered up on the couch, so I reckon I'll hit the bed this time. Hope everyone is having a terrific, cool weekend.

Later Gators ~

Working on a tree so this is a fly by. Gorgeous day here today and hope y'all are enjoying the same.

Doris, it might help Bigfoot if he wears one of those paper masks when he's working outside in the leaves. They help me when I have to cut grass in the fall and my hayfever goes bonkers.

Lou, that line must be from a book or movie, I can't wait till you get back here to tell us!

It would be a good day to put the Christmas lights outside. I like to choose a nice day to do that, but I don't light them this early, of course. I've been wanting to wear my Christmas tree pins on my jackets but KISA tells me it's too early. :(

Wills, always goog to see you.

Later, gaters,
Judy

Hi EVERYONE----Sunny and going to be a very nice day...It already is a nice day...We will enjoy that for a change....

Bigfoot is doing pretty good. He got a different med. this time. Just 3 pills and has to take one a day for 3 days. He took the first one yesterday just after we ate lunch...We ate in town. We made one other short stop and then headed for home...Shortly after leaving town he started to cough and oh my what he didn't cough up...He kept that doing all afternoon...It must have been one strong pill....He had a pretty good night and if the other two pills do as well as the first one he should have pretty clean lungs by then...They did x-ray of his chest but we won't hear the results for a few days...His Dr. looked at it and wasn't alarmed about anything....

As for inhalers he uses one on a regular basis...His asthma is not the kind where he should use a inhaler for instant relief....This has been building up for some time and it was just overload when he went out and worked with those moldy wet leaves that just had to be put on plants to save them from Jack Frost over the winter...He does this every year so it is nothing new...However it is the type of outside work he loves to do and I can't do a thing about it....So much for that!!!

HI KAREN---Happy to hear that you got to TX safely and are out living, having a good time and laughing a lot...Have a great winter....

Gosh I read LOU's ditty first and thought she was leaving us for good...Wondered what we had done to make her feel that way. But I guess she was quoting something for us for the day....Just loading up her stuff made me tired....Good luck on all your ventures for the day.

I have two sewing machines and one is up and open most of the time just like my ironing board....I had a wonderful Home EC teacher...I was fortunate enough to move back to the town where I went to High School and became very good friends with her over the years....In the later years of her life I brought rossetts and jelly to her and her husband...Continued to do the same to her husband many years after her death....They had no children and she always refered to me as "one of her kids".....I think of her often because she was a "good" person in my life.

ALLIE---Will it never end? Thinking about you and hope it is going well for you...I do think that in the long run it will work out just fine. You just have to get these people to learn how to work together so that as one leaves and the other takes over it just leaves a very little seam in the garment that you are sewing together here....See how I worked that in to the sewing bit?

Must run now and get some things done around here or I will be unhappy with myself....SBIT Doris

PS LOU---You used a term that not too many people will know what you are talking about...GUSSET.....Now that would be a hard job to do if you ask me...I have put in gussets when the pattern called for one but to do that in a repair job??? Well, maybe I could do that if I had to....At least I know it would have to be cut on the bias for stretch.....

Wrong. It should be: Please don't talk about me when I'm gone. Although our friendship ceases from now on. In parting you go your way, I'll go mine, It's best that we do. Here's a kiss, I hope that this brings lots of luck to you.

Well, a fine good morning to you all! I am on a roll today. I worked at the weavers sale yesterday and I have already sold over half of the lotion and body butter. Will need to get on the stick as this is just the first day of the sale.

I am up early to load the car for the church sale today. Hope I do as well there. Have my frozen burritoes on the table, frozen bread, 3 dozen muffins and 13 bags of cookies, all gluten free. I lost the cookies that I had boxed up yesterday and spent 20 minutes looking all over for them. I could remember putting them some where so the dogs could not get them, but couldn't remember where and this is a BIG box! Even went outside to the storage trailer in case I was that nuts! All the way to the bassement, through Bret's room, out in the garden. Finally found them on top of the entertainment center in the front room. Guess I should watch more tv!

Ok, I will be gone all day, so please don't talk about me when I'm gone, although our friendship ceases from now on. In parting you go your way, I'll go mine, it's best that we must part... Ring any bells?

It's Friiiiidayyyy!

I used to sew a lot, my mom taught me how to sew straight skirts when I was 10, and I made almost all my own clothes until fabric got more expensive than buying them off the rack. Mom also taught me to upholster (makes hands rough as a cotton picker!). I do still do a bit of sewing, usually window treatments or something I have to have but can't find in a store. I have 3 sewing machines but they are hidden away, I don't tell anyone that I know how to sew. I wish I had the patience and gumption that LOU has but it just isn't there.

Geez, Fred, if I had known you were having trouble with your nose I wouldn't have been beating you up so violently on here. I'd think a fella like you would jump in and defend himself. LOL We see deer all over, this time of year especially they become hood ornaments. It's a sad thing.

Doris, you should ask Bigfoot's doctor for an emergency inhaler. That asthma is frightening!

Cedar, the Fort Hood tragedy is our whole nations heartbreak, again. You are right, we must remember them and their families, and keep those in harms way in our thoughts and prayers. Once again, when we least expect it...

Niters all,
Judy

Cedar: Why is it as soon as someone finds out you know what a needle is and that you actually have a sewing machine they know it is your lifes ambition to make them a new dress? I sew straight seams, not darts and all that. Right now I am putting gussets in overalls for a friends husband because her machine won't sew through the thick stuff. Waist is already 60 inches so it is easier to make them bigger than take off a pound or so. Glad I am not one of his major arteries! LOU

Karen= Glad your trip went smoothly for y'all. Hey sounds to me like y'all have the perfect retirement plan~~~sleep, EAT,AND play games!! What more could you ask for!! Ha! Ha!
Hope y'all have a blast while you are there. Just please don't forget us here at the board> " YOUR OTHER FRIENDS"

Jsan= Went back to work today and had a fairly good day. My eye is alot better each day so far. Hope it continues to be that way! Maybe I need to get one of those energizer bunnies for my bath! Ha!

Fredfud= On the sewing question---You probably wouldn't need the needle I think you are probably sharp enough!!LOL
Two of my co-workers wore some sweat shirts that were fixed by a great seamstress in town. she charges good prices for her work. some of the other employees ask me if I would fix them a shirt like that! Never mind they don't intend to pay me but just oh such a small amount! Well Friends or not my answer was NO! I wonder if sometimes I look like I have "STUPID" wrote across my forhead. Ha! Hope you feel better soon!

Max= Yes I am counting the days>>>> I will spend my days off cooking because all the family comes to my house. We get out on Tuesday and I start cooking on Wed. morning and cook all day long. But I do have Friday to myself. I do enjoy having the family over but it is tiring.
Hope you have good-luck with the magazines.

Doris= Hope Bigfoot gets to feeling better soon!! And you take care.
Well ,This is High School Football night. DH and his brother have gone to the game. So I think I'll just go get in my chair and watch some TV while it is quiet!
Sleep tight everyone and remember those at Fort Hood and their families. Have a Blessed tomorrow!...Cedar...

FRED: Sorry to hear about the nose. Wish you a speedy recovery. Especially during this busty season for you. The prof has been down a few times and took Bambi home X 1. Our gun season begins the Monday after Thanksgiving, and he will be here with his bells on! LOL.
Neighbor lady called last night after dark (she was alone) and heard a bunch of coyotes "screaming" nearby. I didn't hear the boogers or I would have been petrified. Guess the wildlife is beginning to feel the shortage of vittles.

DORIS: Sorry to hear about Bigfoot. hope he is feeling better after seeing the doc. If he is like all other men, they do seem a lot better when being checked out by Nurse Goodbody. You had your bad spell there so no more for you! let us know how BF is doing. Such a wonder all the new drugs. Sure most of us would not be around if not for them.

LOU: Sounds like FRED needs some of that Vicks on his dose. He loves to chuckle and I don't guess there is much of that lately!

MAX: Good luck on the mags. At least you will have some goog reading! ha. I was never lucky with them.

ALLIE: Thinking of you. Know time is going by ever so slowly nowdays. We all are cheering for you and hoping all is going well. Methinks that Bert is going to love all the attention she will be getting. Sounds like your hard work will pay off.

Off for the bubbly. Guess MD is still deep in the dawg house after Kat came home! ROFL. Lots of AWOLS that need to check in. ~~~~~Jsan

HI----Good to see FRED---Hope the nose surgery gets better soon...Tender place in the nose area.

Have to run because I am taking Bigfoot in to the Dr. He just had to work outside on those cold rainy days and it caused his asthma to really give him a bad time. Coughing all night etc. The Dr. says to "get him in" when he gets like that...He gives him predsesone {sp} and he gets better pretty fast...It's the same stuff that nearly killed me....I never want to get close to that again. But it is good stuff for many things....

Hi Aces Getting ready to wean calves at the home ranch next Wednesday.I had some nose surgery on Monday. So i have been laying around feeling sorrt for myself the last couple days. Sorry I don't peek in more. When the Steelers are winning my old old friend Judy doesn't need any cheering up.

What side of the planet is Allie at these months.

Jan I was glancing below about how you through the chicken in the soup. Most people like to pluck them first they are a little different than lobsters. Any deer hunters around yet?

I see Connie peeked in. WE used to discuss the merits of eating venicon.

Hey Karen I gather you have migrated south for a bit. good for you.
Susi Quatro was myhero. She was leather Tusgadero.
Cedar and Lou . Sew right about a lost art. There is a huge quilting group in this area. Not all old gals either. I know nothing about sewing, Do you need a needle or something?
Doris I'll try to get to the computer a bit more. Not much changed in Hanna since you saw it. Anyway I have babbled enough. Hi to some new folks. Always nice to stop and say hi to some old friends. Fred

Cedar, glad things OK. Are you counting the days until Thanksgiving break? At least a couple of days off.

Had to come in and tell everyone about my great find out shopping today. Gentleman sold me his album containing old magazines. Life 1929-30, Judge 1929-30, and The New Yorker Overseas Editions for Armed Forces. Had to google for the magazine Judge. I will have my nose stuck in them reading now. Will take me awhile to try and figure out value/if any.

KARNE: Thanks for letting us know you made it safe and sound. I know Himself is glad the trip is over. I hope you had a nice aupper at your friends place. Soon the partying will begin!! LOL

CEDAR: I was glad to hear the headaches are gone. Thats a bit scary but makes sense that the swelling and inflammation were the culprits.

MAX: I too remember a skirt in Home Ec. I could not read the pattern (read-didn't pay attention) and it was a real mess. Straight up and down. Got a big failing grade on that one.

LOU: I have a little Energizer Bunny on a shelf in the master bath, and every time I trot in and out I see it and smile....and at my age, I smile a lot if you get my drift.

JUDY: When I Googled the Pinky thing, I got the gal AND the punk rock band. Even started listening to the music (but only for a nano second), sure wasn't my speed. I began wondering about you at that time. ROFL. I join the others in waiting to see your decoration. As usual, it will be stunning I am sure. I may not even put up a tree this year.

Is everyone cooking for the holiday? I probably will not (hehehehe). I am open for invites, ya know. I can bring dessert. Actually a baloney sammy would be tasty, and pitch in a good book and nappie, why thats a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Listening to the garbage about the shooting at Fort Hood and getting sicker by the second. Our world has gone completely mad. ~~~Jsan

Trip went well, himaelf got pretty tired, but is doing better today. I was surpised how many peeps are already here.

Need to get new batteries for my mouse---don't care for the litle square rolley thing.

Going to friends for aupper and games. I think there are about 6 boxes yet to deal, but tomorrow ia another day. I also need to ketchup, so I will BBL.

Thanks for all your thought and prayers.

Good morning, almost cool enough this morning for a long sleeved shirt.

WKGREASE....Before I forget, go into pottery board and ask for Ron. He sells at fleas so will be in and out. I will tell him to watch for you. He knows his bottles.

Jsan/lou, I hated home ec. when it came to sewing. My Mother made many of my clothes by hand. My Aunts were always counting how many stitches used in quilts. My favorite thing was the homemade rag rugs. Finding all your clothes in them. Remember a skirt I made in class. Made out of Indian head cloth, it was riddled where I took the darts out so much.

Enjoy the chats about hubby in kitchen. they tell me mine very good cook when guys are camping. In 50+ yrs. have never had a chance to find out. LOL

Judy, thanks for posting the Greyhound picture. Now I know what you guys were talking about.

Karen, are we there yet?

Cedar, checking and don't see anything else about headaches, so hope all is well.

allie, a tape recorder probably would be a great idea. 6 might get a little expensive.

jsan, talked my DD into going to my chiropractor ONE time. He cracked her neck, and that was the end of that!

Better dig around in kitchen for some tempting non-fattening thing for breakfast.

Hi to all I have missed. In case I don't make it back, hope everyone has big plans for the wk-end coming up.

DORIS: SSShhh! Please. JUDY keeps me in chocklit. I have to tell you after all these years of wedded bliss (?) Bill has learned to make chicken soup. With a Wylers mix of course. But it keeps him going. Ha. I do add the chicken. Seriously, I do the cooking and he does the cleaning up. Once in a while as you know, we go out to eat. {snarfle}.
I remember that Lesley is an Interior Decorator. I can only imagine what your places look like. Hope she is coming along Ok and healing as expected.

RICHARDE: How come I know you are not in politics? I am not a mind reader but no politician could survive talking as little as you. Hope you do not run for office down there in the southland. I have to admit I got curious and Googled Pinky. Now i don't know if she is referring to the gal or the punk rock band. I would think if she is using a tree theme, she is talking about the band. But I dunno. We will all look forward to seeing how she does that one!

CEDAR: Goog news on the eyeball. Pretty soon it will be only a not so fond memory. Friend of mine just had her eyelids lifted and she is sporting two black eyes. I told her to be sure and take pictures, she might need them one day! ROFL. Her DH did not see the joke in that.

LOU: Interesting on the pfaff machione that can do those stitches. And to think our mamas & grannies worked many an hour on those quilts back in their day. I never learned to sew, do not have the patience. Faked my way thru Home Ec and I swore that if I had to take out the stitches I goofed and do it all over, I was not interested! My sister on the other hand can make suits and everything! My daughter too. I must have been behind door..

Well, its time to hit the bubbly so will check in later. Yall behave and last one in remember to lock the door and leave a light on. Niters~~~~~Jsan

Cedar, you are right about the young ones not wanting to learn. Sewing now is all fancy. Bret works for the Pfaff dealer and they have a new machine that quilts exactly like hand quilting. That is not fair!

Doris: Thank you for the free compliments. I will remember and return the favor some one of these days!

Jan: You should know that this little energizer bunny was making hand lotion this afternoon and one of the bottles tipped so I grabbed for it and knocked three more bottles of hot lavender lotion across the kitchen. That was a real mess to clean up, so I came down stairs for a while to get back in the groove. Need to make one more batch of lotion and then can start the baking. Bought jumbo muffin tins for blueberry muffins (gluten free). Already have my bread and noodles made. Just got to do muffins for the lunch room, then some cookies and brownies for the sale table. Also some little carrot cakes. I am going to quit volunteering for all this extra stuff.

Ok, I am back to hopping around the kitchen, so I will talk to you later.

HI EVERYONE======Very nice day here today. I needed to go to town and that's how I found out how nice it is...Even sun shining...For a change.

PICKER---You mean to say that you PAY JAN to say nice things about you? What next? Isn't that sort of Black Mail? We like you the way you are...No need to pay someone to say nice things about you....I guess I will have to call JAN and shake her up a bit...

Speaking of JAN===The way I wrote it about Lesley's shelves it sounded like she just went to the workshop and took some old shelving and pounded nails in them the keep them on the wall....Nothing like that at all...She is an Interior Decorator or I should say she used to do that for a living...She had ordered these shelves some time ago and knew just what she was doing. It looks very nice. I may just take a snap shot of it and if I do I will send it to you...The shelves blend very well in the bedroom...

JEANIE---Nice to see you again....I am one of those that frequently give the 4 full stars and a bit lower on the shipping...I only buy and never sell so I guess I didn't know that it made a big difference on the feedback....My thoughts are that shipping is just too much...Not the fault of the seller....Now that I see it from your point of view I feel bad that I have done that....I shall from now on check all 5 stars....Live and learn.

PICKER---About now I suppose you are crying because I teased you....Really I didn't mean to do that. Just having fun...At your expense...Naughty Doris

Well, it was nice to read all the "girl" posts but where are the MEN? FREDFUD hasn't been around for ages....Do wonder what he is doing....

Now that KAT is back and can let MD use her computer I thought we would hear from him a little more...Where are you MD?

LOU---I did read some of your Blog...Very interesting...You write nicely...And you are one ambitious person...Talented too...You don't have to pay me for all these nice things I am saying about you...They are free...

Well, time to head for the kitchen...Someone mentioned that they needed to head for the kitchen because their DH was already in there. I could wait for eons before Bigfoot would enter the kitchen first....However he does the dishes so I better not complain.....SBIT Doris

WKGREASE: Sorry, do not know anyone here who is familiar with bottles. As for the listings, I would suggest you put the item on for the least you would take for it, and hope there are bidders out there who are looking specifically for that item. Then hope that the bidding begins! You can do research with ebay and with Google to see if you can find info. Sorry I cannot be of more help, and good luck to you.

LOU: Quite a site there and you put a lot of work into it. I think you are like the Energizer Bunny! My energy has been used up, methinks.

JUDY: I hate to admit this, but i do not know who that Pinky is. I am probably the onliest person here to say that, but you know I don't get off the farm much! LOL. Loved the pic of the bus, brings back memories of the good old days on ebay. Excellent on your advice on the stars.

ALLIE: Looks as if you are worn to the bone and can not even post a few lines. I sure hope all is continuing to go well there.

Off for now.BBL~~~Jsan

I have been listing some collectible that I have had for the past 35 years. They are quite nice . . . I lited them in aution using the reserve price feature the actual listing comes up .99 I have so many watchers and quite a few bids but no where near the reserve price. My question to you sellers is do I put a higher start bid price closer to the reserve price or just take my chances with the .99 start. What have some of you sellers encountered in this type of listing? Have you had better success with reserve listing price and low bid start or better luck with an actual start bid using the reserve price?
