I did see the table with dolls for the children's hospital. There were some nice Ginny's but I didn't want to spend that much. I bought some cute padded hangers for Muffy bear. I also got a bag full of stuff, a little this and a little that including a Bryer horse. There was a young woman there selling some of her childhood things. I told here when she was my age she was going to be looking to buy them back, but she said she had too much. I got the horse from her. francie

Hi, would anyone here happen to be a Terri Lee collector ? My sweet husband went to an estate sale the other day and bought a few really nice items for Tiny Terri Lee. One is an Evening Formal in the box. It is like brand new with tiara , hair net and silver slippers. It is pictured in a Terri Lee ID book by Peggy Wiedman Casper on page 92 but without a price. The box looks pretty good. Another box , sticker says Tiny Terry Velveteen Snow Suit with red pants, hat, pair white boots , red jacket with white mittens and white blouse which also looks unused. These items have tags. Loose without tags was a black tutu? with matching undies, matching hat and black mask, like new. I love old dolls but know very little about Terri. I could use some extra money for Christmas but don't want to list the formal if it's only going to go for about $50.00. anyone have any near guesses as to their worth ? Tried to find them on the internet with no luck. Any help would be soooo appreciated.

Back after getting baby out to double check size.

The baby is 8". He's all bisque. His back is marked 229, then 19, Germany under that. All limbs also marked 229. My book shows the number as SFBJ but I don't know if they meant that number for a different type doll??? Of course, I was thinking character and/or Kaiser when I got him at a doll show.

Bugs, Him getting the shelves would really help ME too! LOL
He sawsalled (how do you spell that) the old put together unit we'd given him MANY years ago. The stuff is all over his very small room (in my house) SOH MAY be here the first week of December. This place is a MESS! LOL

The kitchen things are numbered and made in England. The last few days I've been looking for the iron in the foreground. They are the old dollhouse size accessories. I've been cleaning and rearranging and realized the iron in the foreground is not in the display with the rest of the "pots" etc. I'm hoping I put it somewhere "safe" and son didn't throw it out while I was out of the country!!

Let's see......today SIL wanted me to come over for awhile because she had an insurance rep there.

Yesterday I went to an old house that was having a "moving" sale. Ohhh I want the closets and attic and ....
This was a house in town that has the old second stairs to the kitchen. Boy they used to build things better.

Anyway, son watched daughter while I went to look for shelf units or anything that would work for him. They didn't have dolls listed but had seen dollhouses in the photo advertising the sale. There were four houses. No old dolls, just a few collectibles around. The auction house had removed some really valuable antique furniture for later auction. There was a doll aquaintance I know helping them at the sale and she said she had not seen any dolls. I did find a big dollhouse without a roof under stuff on the side of the HUGE crammed attic. The lady hadn't recognized it as a dollhouse it was so bad. Inside the house, which I found a small all bisque doll. Also found an old wooden toilet and bathtub. Son went back today to get the shelf unit but didn't go first thing in morning like you have to. (sigh) I asked him to see if the beautiful small doll cradle was still under the table downstairs in the sitting room and if they'd lowered the price (the first day they won't negotiate). He went late......all gone. (sniff) Turns out he was going to buy it for me for Christmas (double sniff) LOL

I'm going on and on......but this was one of those places you could spend several days in and still see/find interesting things. i.e. Son called a friend to meet him there and she bought several first edition books.

So, day before, took daughter to her specialist dentist. $1050.00 (which is why I couldn't buy anything at the house thing!) Okay, not exactly true...... second reason is I don't have room for the BIG things like doll houses and the GORGEOUS HUGE antique display cabinet. (sigh)

I forget what thing I HAD to do the day before that, but I'll remember sooner or later.

I did see a coouple of people selling jewelry. One lady had oodles of it. Sometimes I am so intent that I don't know what is going on around me. I was trying to find a shirt for Pinocchio so I don't have to make one. I guess I am making it because I never found one. I did find a table that was selling a "center piece" that was an inexpensive bisque doll that I had cut his hair and made an outfit to be Christopher Robins when our club did a Pooh picnic. Francie and I went to San Jose today. It was very nice and I didn't have to drive. When we got there, there was a line about 10,000,000. Lucky for us, it was people lining up for the flu shot, not the doll show. The building was quite cold but lots of nice things. I bought mostly clothes things, a couple of wigs (which I don't really need but like to be prepared just in case. I also got some shoes so Hannahadelphia got a new pair of brown shoes. I think Leslie Levi also got a new outfit. I was very good and didn't spend very much $$. Glenda

Alternatively, if you receive a 0 results page for title search and click the Buy It Now tab (or choose the title and description box and re-run the search), you'll see the (Buy It Now or title and description) results for your search query.

She really does look great. I have three. Two are waiting on paint and other work done to them. It will be awhile. I need a hand for one and I don't want to paint them until I find one.

Hi! This is Patty from VERMONT...not VIRGINIA. There may be another Patty from Va, but I am the one who usually posts here. So glad we have a couple of new people. I have a cheat sheet, so will add them to the list. Would anyone want a copy? There have been a lot of mix ups lately. Of course, those who are very concerned about their privacy may want me to eliminate their name from the list. I have only been using it for my own as a learning tool.

I haven't been able to get on line all day. Something happened last night with the wireless connection or cable settings. My daughter showed me how to fix it, but hope I won't have that trouble all the time. Maybe just keep the darn thing on all night to assure my connection in the morning.

I get her on the 1st! She is definately better in person than his photos! She doesn't have any teeth. I checked the face pic closely. I recently cleaned out my email and I accidentally tossed some of the better photos I have of her.

Jeannie, Once you edit the pictures to a smaller picture on Pb you can't increase the size.

I edit my pictures by using a photo editor on my computer before I upload it to photobucket.

My sister has a back problem..... makes it hard to even think of working. Most places don't understand.

They told her she could have surgery but has decided to try not to after knowing a lady that did and reading up on it. Supposedly the discs were supposed to naturally fuse the bone together, but it doesn't look like that's happening.... it's been years.

Donna, my back is always gonna hurt. It has a disc gone. Plus we are coming up on the wet cold days that make it hurt from the arthritis. I am trying not to let it get me down.

My Mom gave me a huge shopping bag full of wooden chairs for my dolls. I don't like the dolls down low because you can't see their faces. Mark doesn't know it yet, but he is going to bring up one of my drop leaf tables up out of the garage for me to set some dolls on. I have to hand it to him, though, he is pretty patient with my obsession. He rattled off a list of dolls to one of our friends last week and I was pretty impressed...

As for this Shoenhut, I am fairly picky. This was the first one that really grabbed my attention. She doesn't have the peeled fact that many of them seem to get and she doesn't have the "repaint" on her that looks overly done. She really is NICE~ I'm really excited about her!

Oh boy! I found that out about Mary Hoyers, too. My Mom loves them as much as I do. I recently got a few from a dealer who knew Mary and her granddaughter. I got a boy doll with a Hoyer signed hang tag. I took them up to show my Mom and now they live on her TV (she says she put them there so she could see them all the time). *Grin* I don't mind sharing them with her.

Kewl! I already have a question or two I can't seem to get answered. I recently bought a plastic or celluloid Kathe Kruse girl. She has the turtle marks on her neck and back. I am wondering what year this doll may be from, since the newest ones seem to have stuffed bodies.

The busiest time to catch people live chatting is Friday night. They have a thing called Lurkers party night. It was started to encourage people that are just reading this board to come "down" and join in. Usually the board scrolls off then. The rest of the time, we check back in on and off and answer even hours later to comments or questions.

I have a big S&H girl (32 in., blond with blue eyes) and an S&H boy who is about 20in with blond hair and brown eyes). I have one Kestner that was my grandmothers and two Flora Doras. I JUST bought my first Shoenhut and I meet the seller on the 1st. She looks really nice with no repaint. I think she is going to be my Christmas present to me...giggle

Good evening,ladies! Jeannie here. I'm new to the board and a rabid doll collector.....half dolls, old German bisque dolls, old Meissen figurines, Shoenhuts, Kathe Kruse, and Mary Hoyers. My latest craze has been the older 50s dolls. I have been working tirelessly this week to get them all arranged in some sort of order in my youngest daughter's old bedroom (now offfically the DOLL ROOM). I finally got everything out of there except for dolls, doll furniture, and doll clothing. Looks like the 50 million "Gene" dolls are going to need a room of their own. I'm not sure if this is collecting or an obsession. Either way, it looks like you all have fun here. It would be nice to chat with others who know my love of dolls.

Hiya all! I missed morning coffee time. I have a really nasty cold so I took cold medicine before I went to bed last night. The medicine works for precisely 4 hours which is how much sleep I ended up getting because I woke up the second the medicine quit working. Blah. It doesn't help when I'm starting a new job, either. It's kicking my butt.
On a brighter side, I have a plan to buy more dolls. All tips that come in cash form go towards bills. All tips that come in coins I put in a big jar and save for dollies. *insert cheesy grin here*. It also helps me to feel better for the cheapskates who sit at my table all night drinking coffee and leave me a 50 cent tip. Now I can smile and think about how I can get a doll with it. LOL
Now I have to go get ready for work. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Danni

Good afternoon, everyone. I am SO SORRY I left early last night. The dicussions of the Lindas and the Sues was utterly hilarious. Maybe everybody on the board should just send a surprise box to everyone else!

This will be a monumental Christmas party. Missy, if you can't take pictures, I'll take one of your gifts (right now I am clueless...except it needs to be for Tammy!) before I mail it. Then I can post it the night of the party. After I know you've opened it!

Good Morning All,
Well, after a rather confusing night, I woke up this morning to find I am who I thought I was,(drat) yougest daughter is coming up to visit here today, which, unfortunately, won't be a fun thing. Her meds still aren't adjusted, or perhaps she just doesn't have enough in her system, but am a bit anxious for her to be this close to that rat of a husband of her's. When she came up last week I had to watch her every minute as she would slip away and take off down the street, it's rather like having a toddler around again, and I haven't done that in tooo many years...Plus, she has it in her head that she's going to the Craig Morgan concert tonight, it's going to be in a pasture, and it's raining, plus..I don't do crowds, so it's not going to happen and she very well may wind up throwing a fit (just like a toddler) which I'm not sure I can handle...geezzz, I'm worn out just thinking about it...my poor baby, will be sooo happy when her meds are right again, that darn hospital set us back about 3 weeks, but seems like forever. Well, I'm off to the grocery store and then to pick her up. Hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing Saturday.. Linda2CP

Bugs, the tractor with grader box will take care of the ruts in nothing flat..don't know what I'll do with the dirt left over from the septic tank though, hadn't thought of that..oh well, maybe I'll just have a small hill for the BWs to climb on..or..just spread it over the whole darn place..

Bugs, it's clear (again) but the ratty SIL left tons of ruts when he originally cleared it, so has to be leveled a bit, then put down a septic tank, have the water lines run, put up an electric pole (should be loads of fun, but won't take long) and then will be ready to pull this thing out of here.., well, I won't be doing the pulling, going to take more than my pick em up truck, this thing is 16' X 80'.Linda2
