lisamex, you can use photobucket, then post the links to the pictures on here. its kind of slow tonight but if you keep checking back after you post the pics, you should get some input on it.

when there is one of these problems i always have a vision of a crowded room in a big building and all these 30 year olds with glasses and button down shirts running around and typing on keyboards and looking at multiple monitors.....the activity and panic level equal to that you see in a movie when the submarine has sprung a leak, LOL!

i'm sure ebay is not any happier about this than the users are. i first came on ebay in '98 and glitches were pretty common then, it amazes me that with all the growth the site has made in all these years it doesn't have glitches more now. used to be skippy's fault......or was it skippy who was in charge of fixing things when they broke?? i think skippy died. :(

Lucky sellers.. Ebay will refund all listing and selling fees because buyers cannot search and bid on items. Past the word to the lucky sellers who have items listed during this outage. Bad news, sellers have to take the loss and cannot cancel sales that have a bid and less than 12 hours left.

they always seem to mess up around the holidays.. they have cost me beau coup bucks before by having the system take a dump at the wrong time.

really sucks for a Saturday night when a lot of people are shopping!! AND it's been close to several hours, ya think that they (ebay) would get their act together. Maybe they should consider giving the sellers a credit!!! LOL dream on right? Oh well one can wish. It STILL isn't workin I think they should consider reviewing their IT people!!! :( Thanks for checkin it out, thought it was just me....

Humm.. I have an item at the "place that must not be named" with diamonds, emeralds and done in 14K gold.. I had it priced at 325 and it hasn't sold, so I said to heck with it, and raised the price LOL.. if it won't sell at the original price then it probably won't sell at the new price either :-)

NO SEARCHES ARE WORKING ON EBAY. YOU CANNOT SEARCH FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY SAY THEY ARE AWARE OF IT. As they said you can't search for skateboards, ipods, iphones, nothing will come up. They are aware of it. Glitchy glitchy glitchy - another pre-Christmas issue.
Posted by   ( ) on Nov-21-09 at 15:20:55 PST   Listings
nothing comes up on the search. I am on hold with ebay now but what a drag! It is broken for sure. If you put in any item or designer names it wont come up.

everyone gone?? i never did get to the suitcase i wanted to check! i started sorting some jewelry in the bedroom and found out then when fat cat got shut in there the other day he had to....well, to put it delicately, he had to 'go'....several times i would say. so i had to strip the bed and have about 5 loads of laundry to do because i also had a couple of big stacks of quilts and comforters on that bed. :(( the suitcase will have to wait....i am pooped. i think i will sit here and clean off my desk while i do laundry.

Becca's friend: that is a mourning piece, or a friendship piece. you are supposed to put the departed or the loved ones hair in the back locket portion. There is a pretty good market for those.

hi deanne, welcome to the jewelry board! do you have a loupe or magnifying glass that you can look at every tiny place on your locket for a mark of any kind? also, if you will look at the picture on the front and see if it is made up of tiny dots or of brush strokes or whatever.... and coudl we see a pic of the back?

Deanne the style of dress will help date it...even though we know I've collected for years it's usually what I like and I learn a little along the way, but I did just run across a neat book of fashions from every era so if push comes too shove (although I'm pretty confident someone here now on board or someone else who will come by will be able too help you as there are so many knowledgable here) but in the unlikely event that doesn't happen I will be in town later and I'll drop by with my book and at the very least we'll date the clothing and go from there...it's really pretty that should do well. Hey did you and
Dave happen too go too that auction last night? or did you Sharon? I was just my usually curious nosey self wondering if there was anything neat?

but psssst! you didn't hear it hear cuz I'm not one too gossip LMAO yah right, but I have it on good authority that Skipper and Tuti were spotted at a southern California grocery store the other day and rumor has it they both were looking a little pudgy especially skipper in that little red and white number she's been seen in for years LOL ...okay anyways when I went too my car for God only knows what it was I thought I was going out there for? I spotted a Bonnie Briar two piece cashmere set that could be 30's in there? it's darling absolutely darling I've had that forever and a day, are we talking borrow or buy? if it's a borrow situation I might be persuaded to loan it out hehehehe...if it's a buy situation I doubt you'll want to pay the price I'm hoping too get for it one of these years hehehe as so far I haven't been able too bring myself too part with it, but times are tough so I think it's gonna have too go before too long anyways...but if it's a loan out and YOU'LL BE CAREFUL WITH IT WHICH I KNOW YOU WILL BE...then you are welcome too borrow it and I think it's probably about a 6 or 8 and you are petite so it might work fabulously for you....

Yes I know what you mean. The older I get the bigger I get. Its depressing.

Granny has a bad cold right now. I'm babysitting the urchin. He wanted ramen noodles the other day and I already had some other kind of noodle soup in the fridge so I heated that up instead and told him to come and eat. He walked up to the table and looked in the bowl and turned around and looked at me and said. I TOLD YOU I wanted ramen noodles! LOL

Archie is taking Granny and I out to a buffet at Pheasants forever tonight. It's their annual fund raiser and lotz of fun.

Sharon if you have some time before the production...just a thought here? given the fact so many of the vintage suits, dresses et al, are so very very teeny I still have a hard time believing women any women were ever that petite and teeny I have dogs that couldn't fit into some of the waistlines on the vintage collection I have hehehehe....and allot of the time given the age of the fabrics the items become quite fraqile, so I was just thinking that I may or I may know of someone that has a number of vintage patterns and if time isn't a big factor you could actually take new fabric with a 40's inspired look and have something made or if you sew (I wish I did but I'm doing good too sew on a button hehehehe) make something that would not only fit you perfectly but also not have too worry about coming apart at the seams mid production or such...just a thought.

good morning again....I thought I had a very high tolerance for pain LOL until this am hehehehe...shoot you guys are talking tylenol and nyquil I went straight for a norco=1000 miligrams of vicadin hehehe....I only took half a one though I'm a lightweight when it comes too any type of pill but I certainly have felt better since doing so, soon thereafter, I was back on the couch and myself, doggie children and one onery kitty were all snuggled up together LOL they are so funny and for the moment I sure feel better just keeping the other half of that pill nearby in case I need it a bit later. SHARON I'll check around and see what I've got size wise and such...an absolutely darling suit comes too mind (sometimes I mix up 30's and 40'
s though? do you guys ever do that?) but anyway I bought it from an 80 something year old lady and it seems too me she said it belonged too her mother...if memory serves me correctly it's a red and gray plaid skirt with a a type of shawl collar? or rounded collar short jacket in excellent condition and another taupe colored suit comes too mind, I also have some old navy wave suits I think? and what did you have in mind for a dress? I had a nurse to tell me that tylenols were worse on your liver than any medicine you could take and before I had a stint put in my pea-brain, I lived on tylenols for the head-aches I take very little meds, if it is just pain, I'll take an otc and tough it out.

I have a high tolerance for pain and an extreme low tolerance for narcticcs, my drug of choice would be Nyquil. lol I can sleep around the clock on 1 dose.

mg, i would guess that if he was huge the heart was struggling to work with so much fat weighing on it anyway.....and was probably getting pretty tired even without a muscle relaxer. you are not huge, you are just a little fluffy. :) i take muscle relaxers at times for my back and for me at least, i think they are safer than overdosing on alieve. my almost mother in law almost died from overdosing on tylenol...i don't know if alieve will do that also though.

I'm scared of muscle relaxers I had a truck driver friend that was huge and he took 2 sommas and died. Your heart is a muscle and if it gets relaxed it forgets to work.

okay I just peeked and see it still has more time too go...and has five bidders that's GREAT! I finally met with my gold gal I kept missing, made her a ballpark offer and she's supposed too get back too me in the next couple of days, so keep a good thought for me PLEASE! In the meantime, too all of you out there lurking or posting as the case may be, be sure and check out the clasps on chains for gold content, I was very very pleasantly surprised the other day when I noticed a chain I had forever and a day and NEVER in a million years would have EVER thought it was gold because it had what looked like black in it???? braided design, had a closure that I could tell was a marriaghe of parts but it was stamped 10k? so I thought why the heck would someone put that 10k clasp on that ugly old braided costume chain? well since I haven't replaced the stolen gold tester yet, I took a little jaunt out too the local pawn shop and had them test it and I was oh so happy too learn that (I weighed it at 29.6 grams prior too taking it in there and my scale is ACCURATE) they told me it weighed 26 grams and it
s 9k gold and offered me 150.00 for it and I told them thanks but I think I'll just hang onto it for awhile LOL so you know I'm shipping that baby off LOL but truly I wouldn't have ever guessed it was gold based on looks, it was the jump ring stamping that caught my eye, so check everything out kiddos, I can't wait too get a new gold tester I hope next week, I can't remember CRS bad lately if I mentioned I had a friend/sort of family member non blood related that had offered too buy me a new gold tester and wanted too more or less go into this gold buying business with me...I met her for lunch at a local restaurant and after about 30 minutes I suddenly realized that I DON'T WANT A PARTNER hehehehe and I'm gonna leave it at that, being very polite here *g* so I'll just keep plugging along like I am because even though I'm usually my worst enemy in some ways *g* I still know what this ole gal is capable of when I'm on my game, so me believes in me again and from where I was standing I was doing her a big favor not the other way around and let
s just say all's well that ends well~! LOL I called and much too her SURPRISE that evening told her I'd have too decline on the offer of the gold tester I thought I'd just wait a bit longer...FINALLY made a decision I am very very comfortable and HAPPY WITH...for A CHANGE hehehe..okay hate too run but Bob just left the dog kids are fast asleep now on the lovesleep and couch and I need too get my behind in gear and out of here...so hugs Ms. MG I'll not be away so long I hope, so be careful what you wish for hehehehehe...Where is Shanti? I keep hoping she'll be here so I can say HOWDY and see how things are? if she pops by before I make it back tell her too drop me an email if she has a moment and I'll catch up with you fine guys and gals a bit later....I haven't even checked my email in days but since I am having a 50 moment right now *g* my password seems too have slipped my mind? bbl

This board has been a blessing for me. Glitz, I got up late this morning to, my back is giving me hell this morning, about twice a year it goes out on me and will be that way for about a week, my doc wanted me to have it operated on and I told him, no way, I can take it twice a year but if it was an every day thing,I would have to do something else.
Guess I had better do some listing. bbl.

Glitz, I did it thanks to Pawdee.lolI got my education on the jewelry board, and that's a fact. When I first came to this board, I had just learned to turn a computer on and had listed on e-bay twice. Julyfly was the first one to talk to me and she took me under her wing and started walking me thru stuff, then fg,You, Kathi, Jeanie and some I don't remember. I did have a list of everybody's name, address and e-bay name. But if it hadn't been for this board, I would have already took a hammer to this computer and went after the beings at e-bay. lol

Good morning all,

Supposed to turn cold on Saturday, I think. But for now we have (or will have when it gets up) sunshine. thank you for all the compliments on my blanket!

My friend, Linda, is coming over this morning and bringing her jewelry cleaner and glue. Her and her husband were rockhounds in Decatur. He passed about 10 months ago, but prior to that they made a lot of jewelry and hit a lot of sales. I digitized and embroidered the logo for the Central Illinois Gem Club. That was a lot of work. I am trying to talk her into setting up a site, but I don't think it will happen. I will show her this site when she gets here today and she will see how nice people are.

Going to have an easy day, I think. Linda this am, lunch with my friend Tim, list some stuff sometime during the day. Tomorrow I have the Anita Good thing at the shop where Bret works.

So for now, off to do something! LOU

Good morning everyone..
clothing for the 30's I don't think I remember what they look like? I didn't arrive until the 40's, but think they had big sholder pads and tapered to the waist, kinda clingy.

leforme, I just happened in and looked at your bracelet.

(1) Are you positive its celluloid? Early celluloid smells like camphor, later cellulose acetate smells like vinegar tested briefly under warm water. It becomes brittle with age

(2) Yours looks more like a newer synthetic polymer that replaced the Celluloid. Celluloid dates roughly from 1900-1930. LTJ

I just bought a necklace today, and received this message: You're the winner. Your early bid took home the prize. The seller has relisted this item or one like this. Why has the seller relisted it, if I bought it!

good morning everyone.

so sorry to hear that leon. it seems like once we hit 50 our friends and family start getting really ill and/or passing on. our later years are certainly a time of loss.

I wish ltj was on every nite. lol His knowledge is fantastic, I wish I knew half as much.

rovinci is venting down there, does he know it does no good, e-bay is not going to police bad sellers. The gold he is talking about is like the .99 diamonds. BS

ltj has not stopped by in awhile......wish he would just check in once in awhile so we don't worry about him. and i am wondering about progress on his book(s)......i am so looking forward to purchasing them and studying!!!

ronvinci: looking at some of your feedback I don't see what you have to yell about.
Posted by   ( ) on Nov-17-09 at 18:26:13 PST   Listings
ronvinci, it is in separate areas. don't yell at us, we don't work for ebay. if you don't like the listings in the wrong category.....report them, thats what that little 'report' button is for.

WHY IS EBAY ALLOWING 14K GOLD PLATED,GOLD ROLLED,GOLD LAYERED,
WITH 14K SOLID GOLD,
ITS OPENING A DOOR FOR THE CROOKED EBAYERS WHO DECIEVE THE GOOD EBAYERS.

TAKE A HARD LOOK EBAY, IT SHOULD BE CHANGED INTO SEPARATE AREAS.
THANKS
